Really, the sequel to 3rd-person wow was a 1st-person? That kind of went off on a tangent.

He mentioned this as another way to say they’re get these out as soon as possible so that by the time the expansions are out you aren’t in a retirement home by then.

I doubt it. People have been claiming X expansion is the last expansion for years. Myself included, I genuinely thought the game was done for after Craplands.

What’s wrong with a mouse? It’s still better than most other controls for precision.

its tough to figure what the expansion after titan will be.

i recall a few days ago someone said metzen said the worldsoul sage isnt just those 3 expansions and more will come. but we just got a glimpse at the 3 upcoming

They said they are wrapping up the current story but setting up the next 20 years of WoW.

That means either one of two things. One, there will lots of other expansion after the saga, but with a brand new story arc featuring characters/forces/magics/lands unheard of previously. Or two, they are launching WoW 2 after the saga is complete. This is certainly the less likely of the two. But either way, no, WoW is not going anywhere. Don’t worry.

World of Warcraft: The Return of the Lich…King

Not to nitpick but I thought he said it would set up the next 20 years of Warcraft… as in going back to RTS or other games not necessarily just WOW.

Fair, and possible. I’d love to see another RTS, but I doubt they’ll abandon WoW any time soon.

RTS is sadly kind of a dead genre these days anyways.

It will be the end of what will be known as version 1.

At the end we will have a world revamp, time jump, and new plot starting all the way back to the First War! We’re all excited.

I’m putting my chips in now.

The Worldsoul saga wraps up the majority of the Light vs Void storyline and very possibly establishes a known persona for Azeroth without obliterating the planet.

If not, we find that Azeroth does NOT become “The Last Titan” but instead just remains a big source of [whatever] within our planet out of personal choice vs the Titans’ plans for her. The “last” Titan in that case winds up being Sargerus, who for whatever reason comes back through Illidan and has to sacrific himself after all the other Titans get uberpwned by Iridikron, thus fulfilling his original duty of protecting this universe from the Void Lords.

Or something like that.

Light/Void/Titans/Chaos has alwyas been about the duality of personal freedom and doing what is right on a more objective scale, and the problems that can arise from focusing so hard on either. Once we’re moved past that in The Last Titan, I’m willing to bet that Metzen retires and we have a fully revamped world from which to spin brand new stories with The Devourers serving as the nameless “bad guy evil stuff” lurking in the background.

I also don’t see them dropping WoW anytime soon, just saying I think they will continue to attempt “side games,” and if any of them catch on they would shift focus to that instead and leave WoW as a semi-supported game.

As a lifelong Star Wars fan, that movie left me legit angry. I’m glad they started putting out more shows instead of movies after that, because I don’t think my heart could take another disappointment of that magnitude.

Sounds good to me

Ehhh maybe? I think it’d be far likely they’d just keep both running, though.

Only thing better than one successful game is two successful games in the same IP that support each other.
