Will Sylvanas return help or hurt the game?

Sylvanas doesn’t fight in the entire siege of lordaeron, short of two bow shoosting scenes. She remains cleanly detached as she gets the horde killed (and enslaves their souls in undeath.)

It’s been a while… Isn’t the trailer an in game cutscene?

It’s the launch trailer for BfA

Assemble all of our forces outside the city walls. Drop blight canisters on them with our catapults that could very easily exclusively target enemy ranks. Oh, and in case some of them manage to survive somehow, send out a squad of Forsaken with gas masks and blight sprayers to hit our forces outside the city walls from behind.

^ that was the in-game strategy. All of which took place in a city that was rigged to explode with the blight from the get go, which means even as dumb as all of the above sounds, it still served no purpose. This all somehow inspired blind loyalty to the Warchief with the tactical acumen of a lobotomized chipmunk high on styrofoam and used belly button lint.

Contrast with BFA cinematic, which was an epic showdown that got both sides pumped.

I remember the Trailer for BFA. It came out and excited both sides of the player base, because it was even-handed with the Alliance and Horde both looking righteous while Sylvanas bemoaned in narration the fact that without a greater enemy to fight, the two powers would eventually turn on one another in some sort of zero-sum conflict.

And then I heard the announcer at Blizzcon say, “Oh well, why do you think the Alliance would attack the Horde?” and I grew mad, knowing something was very wrong considering the last Horde and Alliance conflict and the lessons it was supposed to impart upon the players and the overall narrative…

And then the Warbringer’s shorts came out and I refused to purchase the expansion because I knew exactly what they were doing, and I was mad…

And I refused to buy the expansion that followed it, as it continued that godawful story and I was still mad…

And here I sit at my desk, four expansions later, still mad.

And another decade from now, when Microsoft has laid off most of Blizzard’s employees and World of Warcraft is in legacy/maintenance mode, I’ll still be mad.

And when I’m in my twilight years in the nursing home, I’ll tell my grandnephews and grandnieces how much I hated Battle for Azeroth, and I’ll still be mad.

And when I’m finally laid to rest in a casket, arms crossed over my chest just as my Forsaken does, I’ll still be mad.

And once I’ve decomposed into dust, and the electrons that were configured into the data that formed my Forsaken escape from the server hard drives, I’ll still be mad.

And an age from then, when climate change has terraformed the landscape upon which I was buried, my hate for Battle for Azeroth will have bled into the very sediment and will poison the earth, making it unhallowed ground.

And I will still be mad.

May the spectral remains of our spiteful spirits poison the land and haunt any and all who dwell in this cursed world.

“What a sad state of affairs.”

We don’t know that for sure because we’re not by her side during the entire battle.

She committed genocide. Genocide. She is a bad person and deserves to stay in the maw. Genocide. Families, children, pets. Burned alive. One of the most painful ways to go. You have to draw the line somewhere and this is pretty obviously over the line for me. genocide. She is bad and deserves the maw.

No she will be back when her people needs her again.

Whether you like it or not she’ll definitely be making a comeback for Midnight tbh

Preferably as a Forsaken/Thalassian/Horde figure and not as a neutral one pretty please

She told the Horde PC we are her people to the face.

When Sylvanas returns I’ll stand there by her side, spiteful of all the garbage writing that has been done. Even if I disagree with a lot that she did, I’ll stand loyalist just to spite how much they didn’t want me to be a loyalist.

Momma Sylv and I’ll be there with her, proud and spiteful.

Everyone in the Warcraft universe has met the same criteria that Sylvanas met to have her acts called genocide. The only difference is Golden liked that word for her version of the narrative in ELEGY and it stuck.

You could apply that to any significant military campaign in the game.

One of the datamined outfits for novembers trade post is Sylvanas iconic outfit. Perhaps it’s a tease of her eventual return

Blizzard knows this is the most popular Windrunner sister which is why they gave that transmog skin to Diablo 4 recently.
