yeah… but, it’s already too late. In Zereth Mortis, she worked with Jaina and the others to save Anduin. Anduin is currently the only one who seems to want to talk with her, so if she comes back, we will definitely get a lot of interaction between these two

Like anything else her return will either help or hurt the narrative depending on how well she’s written. I know the waifu guy left a while back but he was just one guy and I’m pretty sure some of the dumber decisions made for her story weren’t his alone. Given their track record with the character, the damage already done, and the general feeling about her from the player base, I’d say it’s more likely that her return would be incredibly lame. There’s no way I can think of to do it that’d be consistent with her character without polarizing the playerbase. I’d bet that if they bring her back it’ll be done in such a safe and neutered way that it’d entirely defeat the purpose.
Having said that–her coming back is still better than leaving us with Calia.

Yeah. There was this guy named Lor’themar. He wanted this girl named Sylvanas. She was too cool for him. He hated her human lover for out-performing elven rangers. When we killed that undead human he called him a bully for spite.
Lor’themar’s shipmate around the time was Liadrin, not Sylvanas. (Maybe Halduron, if WoW Twitter is to be believed.) Both those guys and other Farstriders wanted to eject Nathanos because Sylvanas banging him was a scandal they figured would tank their faction’s reputation in the high elves’ even more racist court.

The old Sylvanas is gone. We have Ranger-General Sylvanas now. She might still be sarcastic and clever. But she won’t be brutal.
And, as much as fans might not like it, the old Sylvanas had been written into the ground. The only alternative was to just kill her off.

While that’s all true, if they are bringing her back without some genius writing the Banshee Queen back in somehow, everyone will be mad. If they bring back the Banshee Queen, some people will not be mad. It’s the best case scenario.
I think it’s in edge of night, during a flashback that it says he desired her, when it’s talking about how vain she was.
And I think Dark Mirror makes some commentary about Lor’themar and the other elves being racist about Nathanos and Sylvanas’ relationship.
IIRC he claimed it was Kael’thas who wanted her, not Lor’themar. Which itself came a little out of nowhere; they were written as hating one another elsewhere.
Kind of. The high elf ranger-general sleeping with a human was cause for scandal in WC2-era Silvermoon, which was indeed pretty racist, but her subordinates (Theron, Halduron, others) lobbied for his expulsion more to prevent their leader’s political ruin than to rid their order of the filthy human. It’s a subplot in the better half of the Sylvanas novel.

I enjoyed it until it became a checklist for BfA/SHL retcons. I’m surprised you weren’t more partial to it, what with being one of the rare posters here who thought BfA was a good time for the Horde.

That funny comic where she randomly shows up, dies heroically and her eyes turn gold because she’s going to super heaven and then Genn says he wishes she was his girlfriend while Anduin laments losing his bestest friend ever could still technically happen, if you just take out Saurfang.

Sylvanas will be back to defend the elves and I will support her along the way.

The Horde is her people and Silvermoon was her home.
