I was mostly joking, but eh, who actually goes to Boralus? Most folks either stick to Stormwind or Ironforge, although I do wish more people did use Boralus. Its a beautiful, sprawling city with cosy inns, muck-filled streets, slums and castles. It has so many set pieces for so many different types of Roleplayers.
Zandalar felt … rushed? Like they made the set piece and then went “Oh crap, they actually have to have a liveable city!” and hollowed out some sections and then pushed the rest into the outlying areas and filled them with hostile quest mobs. The great Golden City of fabled Zandalar felt annoying to get around, and no good capital should feel like that.
Heck, we only got a sliver of Suramar to re-use and even that’s kind of the least engaging part of the city. Just give us a Chromie Time version of the city to use and make it cross-faction and we’re golden.
Imagine if they redid a lot of the main cities. Gilneas, Kezan, Lordaeron, Arathi Kingdom, Mechagon, Suramar, Night Elves New Home, Void Elves New Home, Vulpera Capital, Dark Iron Capital, Dracthyr New Capital. Give them all their own Renown Track with unique rewards. Account wide with that whole Warband stuff. Tons of World Quests and Dailies that you accept from these Hubs that just give RP lore related to those cities. Reforged…War from Within and all…right?
Making all of these amazing cities have a chance to be alive with repeatable content, and their own themed unlocks is just an easy win for Blizzard TBH.
What does work nicely about Dragonflight is there is just so much to do in the Dragon Isles. Hunts, Tuskarr Soup Events, Time Rifts, Dreamsurges, Races, World Quests. It just has an abundance of things to do.
Repeat this process with these amazing cities you made, and like Metzen said…its time…to come home.
time to bring back the good ol days of Blood Knights walking around SMC arresting peoples’ characters with absolutely zero cause or prior OOC discussion. if I catch you jaywalking in revamped SMC, the sentence is DEATH
Off on a tangent, but that’d make a fun daily or weekly quest.
Walking around your capital helping the Guard NPCs with their duties. Dealing with drunk adventurers using them powers improperly, catching contraband, handling pick pockets and snake oil salesmen, pulling down illegal signs and mediating disputes.
The Alliance can lose to the Horde. But the Horde can never lose to the Alliance–they can only lose to the Horde.
And I know people are going to be like “buh wuh abuh taurajo” or something, but it’s not the same. The Horde scores clear, unambiguous, on-camera, in-depth victories against the Alliance and any gains the Alliance have are either done with tiny amounts of fanfare, massive losses or, usually, by being sidekicks to the Horde.
The Alliance unequivocally won the Fourth War, but you would never know that unless you read the Exploring books and learned the Alliance won both Darkshore and Arathi.
