That’s not the kind of system I was referring to. Mods seem to only typically lock threads once they have already spiraled out of control and turned into nothing but people bashing each other back and forth, not until then. Or if it’s considered spam or a troll thread.
The kind of system I am referring to, which I have saw in other games forums, is quite simple. The OP asks a question. Someone answers it and if the answer is accurate, the thread is then marked as “answered” and then locked. It’s really simple and I could see that system being good here for threads like this one.
Again, the OP asked a question. The answer was given with proof to answer the question. The thread could them be marked “answered” and locked. But here we are in yet another thread becoming a flame fest all because someone asked a question. As I said before, the OP himself has even said a number of times he was just asking a question.
This is a really neat idea honestly. I’d definitely be for it since I’ll be focusing mostly on Classic when it comes out, but I don’t plan on giving up on retail.
Yes you did. And at that point in the type of system I’m referring to, you would have gotten your answer, you thanked those that were helpful, the thread would be marked as answered and then locked. I think it would be a good system for threads like yours as an example.
From what I can tell, you were not looking to stir up the nest, start a flame war or any of that, but instead was curious about something and asked. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, no matter if I agree with you or not on your opinion. But the type of system I’m referring to would stop the flame war before it started, not waiting until things got way out of control for hundreds of responses and then locked for those reasons.
But again, if the thread is meant to be a discussion topic, different story of course.
With the exception of the special mounts. Most people in retail should have the mounts that are in classic or are they bringing out special rep mounts for classic and i missed the post.
I know it sounds like this was aimed at you directly, this is your thread after all, but this isn’t the first time it had been asked, and many other threads specifically stated they only intended to play Classic if they received rewards. That is why people are so snarky in this thread about your question.
But almost every other one of your posts seems to be trying to justify carrying mounts earned in Clasdic over to retail.
Allow me to quote just a sample:
This post was in response to Classic and retail being “separate ecosystems”.
For someone that doesn’t want mounts earned in Classic to carry over to retail, you seem to be spending an awful lot of time trying to justify exactly what you claim you do not want, IMO.
I factually correct people here all the time. When I present evidence I am confronted with an army of voices who move the goalposts and continue to press me for more and more evidence until they no longer have any straws to grasp.
Neither of those quotes imply in any way that I want classic mounts to carry over to retail. They both simply state that doing so wouldn’t break with the #NoChanges philosophy, which is simply a statement of fact.
These comments also simply address the fact that having classic mounts carry over to retail wouldn’t break with the #NoChanges philosophy.
Nothing here even approaches implying my personal preference.
The fact that having classic mounts carry over into retail isn’t an argument for why we should. It’s a premise for why blizzard would.
I know this is a difficult concept for people on these forums to grasp, but you can have a conversation about why a certain argument is bad without actually being in support of the thing it was arguing against. Nuance exists.
The two posts in question presented no evidence. They simply said “no” without further elaboration.
The person you’re responding to said those were sources. I disagreed, and eventually had to ignore his comments because it became clear he was trolling.
