Garbage opinions all around. I feel bad for you.
So, if you make an accusation, and have zero proof of said accusation, the person you accuse should be punished anyway?
Is that seriously what you are saying here?
Where did I accuse a specific person and call for their specific punishment without proof?
I reported specific people to blizzard. There were multiple chat logs to back up my reports. Blizzard did nothing. An entire guild brigaded me and my community.
A random person from that guild messaged me one day and asked what I did to that guy. I told him that I removed a member of his guild from my community because he did not meet our required mythic raiding community parse standards. He told me that he was a new recruit in the guild and would be leaving that guild because part of their âinitiationâ was whispering me or joining my community and calling me [insert insult here]. He said that he wanted to hear my side of the story before doing that an decided to leave that guild after hearing my side. Unfortunately many others did not. I received multiple whispers from random people on a weekly, sometimes daily basis harassing me. Blizzard did nothing. They told me to put them on ignore.
This blog post is pointing out that blizzard doesnât do enough to stop or deter very real in game harassment.
Where did I mention anything about a specific person accusation? You seem to be adding things to my comment that arenât thereâŚ
Then you had proof. That isnât what you implied in your previous post.
You were harassed, and Blizzard did nothing about it? Not cool.

the person you accuse

You basically ask about a specific person right here.
At what point in this full context did I imply there was no proof?
Youâre clearly not reading anything and just running your mouth then.
First you try to belittle me by taking comments out of context and twisting them to imply that I want people punished without proof. When I respond in defense to explain my comments you took out of context, you try to save face by pretending like you never said anything if the sort and Iâm putting words in your mouth by correctly paraphrasing your argument and shutting it down.
Just place people on ignore. Ever since the latest update it places the entire account on ignore, not just the character.
That alone will solve 99% of all harassment in-game.
I just⌠have to assume your not a woman based on what you think stops 99% of all harassment
- Put person on ignore
- Person canât contact you
Blizzard gives you all the tools youâll need for 99% of scenarios. For the 1%, just open a ticket and they will investigate it and act appropriately.
Probably on the same day they hold their own affiliates and employees to the same standard, which is to say never. Try not to get crushed by the concept Zohraju. Itâs always been âRules for thee, not for meâ, even when Ghostcrawler ran things.
Anyone remember his crack down / Trolling attempts toward any anti-CRZ talk via his level 1 Pandaren? 12ish years later. People still are complaining that it was a bad idea, and that it sucks to be on a server with people you cannot meaningfully interact with.
Gosh itâs almost like players knew the game better than a professional.
Did you not read what I wrote about a guild making it part of their âinitiationâ to harass me? And that I reported it⌠and blizzard did nothing?
Yeah we all saw that. Point is though, if Blizzard didnât do anything that you saw that doesnât mean nothing happened. It just means that you are not satisfied with the severity of the punishment, and want more info. I get it. You want the perpetrator to pay a price for their conduct, and itâs understandable.
Same time you need to accept that literally there is nothing more you can do besides report it, put the person on ignore, and post a forum thread citing your concerns and frustrations.
You will never be the moderator who decides the matter. You will never have control over it, or the people who wronged you. This is life. Just accept it and move on. Sucks but you have to. Donât let it consume you mate.
Even if you were to decide to work for Blizzard down the road, theyâd look your account history up (which is not deleted even if you delete or cancel it). As such they would make sure you were unable to deal with tickets involving that specific group. Itâs called a âconflict of interestâ.
I know this because a friend of mine went to work for the game industry for a while, way back when EQ was a thing. When he became a GM, the first thing they did was to look for conflicts of interest and tell him that any actions against people for the wrong reasons, such as a personal vendetta; would result in termination.
Itâs a standard aspect of the industry and makes sense too. Lets say I was wronged by some dude. I get so mad, I go to work for Blizzard and apply to be a GM. I get hired. You really think they arenât going to check my post history to see if I had a reason to ban Johnny Awesome?
You think they arenât going to review it and have a serious issue if they find Iâm acting like GM Gabriel from Penny Arcade? You better believe they will. Hell you arenât even supposed to tell people or guild mates that you work for Blizzard Ent. if you play.
Past employment is hunky dory I suppose, but if current? It can have some very serious consequences if that info gets out. Especially if a guild were to use it as a weapon to scare people.
Do the only thing you can. Ignore and try to remember you did all you could on your end.
If you read my comment and thought it was talking about a specific person, then you donât understand how the English Language works. That was clearly a generic non-specific statement.
If English is not your native language, then I can understand this. If not, then perhaps find out what someone is trying to say before insulting and attacking them?
You sound quite hostile and angry in all your posts in this topic. Itâs starting to make me suspect there is much more to your story of âharassmentâ than you are letting onâŚ
Well yeah. that sponsors communism. Well socialism which many confuse with communism since they dumped all that poli sci 101 2 seconds after finals.
To include politicians who youâd think would remember its since kind ofâŚtheir job. and to show I am fairâŚthat is ding to both sides of the aisle.
I mean pre med students donât forget bio 101 as they go to med school. well hopefully they donât lol.
They canât Ban themselves, so they need to ban others. Someone must always be the whipping boy.
Idk.
They wonât ban their CEO for itâŚ
A good deed isnât bundled in with those ideals to most sane people. Though that said it isnât like courses that dabble in the political are very informative in the first place on either side of the spectrum because people are people. If a fact conflicts with our worldview we scream and ignore it rather than address it.
You even notice it in history where thereâs a common misconception among people that nationalism is what sparked World War 1. Ignoring pointing out that it wasnât an issue of nationalism so much as forced annexation pissing off radical groups of a populace that took action, a conflict that in all actuality affected a small handful of groups sparked a World War because of the tons of pacts between nations so one group actually belonging to that conflict getting involved brought in their buddies, which then brought in their buddies.
Even then, being outraged at being forcibly annexed by another country is a pretty human response to it happening. Thatâs only nationalism insofar as âI want my nation to be its own nation still.â I donât exactly care much for my country but if it was being forcibly annexed by another Iâd defend it, just for my own purposes instead of any sense of loyalty.
Racism and especially sexism are very broad terms. Not every racist or sexist comment is abusive or harassing. If someone goes out of their way to attack someone with racial or sexist comments then I can see that being punishable. But trade chat is really just full of a bunch of harmless trolls making jokes and it would be dumb to ban them over it.
i think thatâs kinda what it boils down to. heck i remember a time when the general section of the forums, were never really dealt with properly. and i got called out many times on things i had said, was some of it justified, probably but not all of it.
i remember a time when people used to get a talking to by gms, being told well the profanity filter isnât there so much that if people donât want to see it they can leave it on, but that they c should be able to turn it off and feel safe. but seriously the fact you are turning a filter off designed to hide swearing is saying you actively want to see it.
Great advice. You should practice what you preach.
Classic example of victim blaming.
You either canât admit when your wrong or you are too stupid to realize that youâre completely wrong. Iâm fine with you. Go troll some other post please, weâre done here.
Right. Thatâs part of my point as well. Completely inconsistent enforcement of their own rules.
A member of the community council was kicked out because some other person made a racist comment in his discord. Not only did blizzard actually take excessive action against someone, but they punished the wrong person.
Blizzard doesnât take action against the people in their game causing real harassment⌠but they kicked a community council member already for something he didnât even do.
So I provide a statistic to demonstrate why people may ask for proof of an accusation, and after you call that statistic garbage and or victim blaming, you attempt to link a source for the same statistic (greater actually, since your article listed 2 to 10 percent) to underscore your point? I agree with the comments of other posters. You are clearly irate about some anecdotal experience you had that most likely has a much deeper background than you are sharing, and are going to snap at anyone that doesnt flat out tell you you are right. Have a good day, your clearly not here for discourse, only affirmation.
