What? Do you even play this game? It’s easy to see that you don’t by the what you say and the fact that you haven’t done a single key this season with a neck level of 70.

DND is nice to have up for serious cleaving of sores but no it won’t ever be number one contributor to dps… that has to be the single most ignorant statement I’ve seen on these forums, which is seriously saying something. It’s clear you don’t play the game, while I’d welcome you to share your opinion on the forums, don’t state things as facts when you don’t actually play the game yourself.
erh…Cant say I miss DnD on my Frost DK. But if they add it back, AT LEAST, turn it into something more fitting theme-wise. Some icy looking aoe. Then sure, why not.

Maybe theyll add Frost flavor to it, and it’ll be a AoE slow that you dont have to spec into.

The entire point of these abilities coming back was to make specs feel like the class again. You know like they were before? Frost wasn’t exclusive to frost, blood wasn’t exclusive to blood, and unholy wasn’t exclusive to unholy.
Seems like this stuff is the no flight situation all over again. People who never leveled in current zones giving feedback of how great it was to not fly while leveling when you couldn’t fly while leveling outside of specific situations.
This is why they really need to limit testing to people that would actually test stuff and not to people who thinks it’s just early access.
As other people stated.
It can help with stealthies
And keep people in combat

It is not more aoe. The numbers will be taken from other aoe’s to keep the output the same. Splitting damage sources across several spells is actually worse, diluting your damage.
And PvE players don’t give a damn about popping stealthies or staying in combat, so make it a pvp talent and give DK’s some actually useful PvE abilities instead.
I didn’t PvE in cata/MoP/WoD, did frost use DnD to AoE back then when they still had it?
It can’t be a PvP talent because we can only pick three. To use 1/3 of our picks on such a niche ability would be a waste. It has to be baseline.
Nothing preventing them from combining it with some already existing pvp talent.
It’s perfectly fine as a standalone ability. It is rather iconic for DK if I may add.

BM hunters have arcane shot with literally no reason to press it. While I can understand the concern your jumping the gun to automatically assume itll be factored into potential dps. It very well could be never worth using for frost outside of niche (pvp) situations.
However you’re objectively wrong to say its worthless in pvp. It’s one of the only ways youd be able to stop a drink while being los’d. For that reason alone would make it worth having for a pvper. Not to mention catching people in stealth as well.
Wait and see. It looks like some of this unpruning is only flavor for some classes specs and not literal integration into the spec.
Just because we are getting it back doesn’t mean it will actually fit into our rotation. I look at it as more of an optional flavor ability that we will probably be better off not using.

Why wouldn’t people use it? It’s aoe damage over time for 1 rune cost. Unless the damage ends up just being absolutely terrible it will be used.
It’s only one rune now? I only play Frost so I haven’t used it in a long time, I remember it being two or three runes though that was also when we had several different types of runes to manage as well. Still, we already have multiple AoE abilities that will likely take priority unless the overall damage of DnD is better which I hope it’s not, as cool as the ability is I really don’t want to have to stand in a red circle all the time after experiencing the joy of frost-only imagery for years now. I was sad when they took it away but not I definitely prefer not having to use it. I AM excited to be getting Raise Ghoul back though (I wish we were getting Presences back as well).

Because depending on the number tuning… it has no benefit from mastery, it cannot trigger procs, and even being only 1 rune that’s still a cost and potentially less damage over the long term due to all these factors.
I’m not saying it absolutely won’t be used in the rotation. Just saying at this point it’s too early to tell either way. It could be something we use on all aoe, or only with x targets, or it may end up being a dps loss overall. Lots of different factors and without “final” number tuning we won’t really know. But just because it does aoe damage doesnt mean it’ll automatically be apart of our rotation. We’ll have to wait and see. Again BM got arcane shot back but they’ll never use it over cobra shot right now. Just because we have it doesn’t mean we’ll use it in PVE. We could, we could not.
If you can’t tell at this point in time them assume that it should be in the rotation and give gameplay feedback. It’s the same with corruption for warlocks at the moment on alpha, if you aren’t affliction then it does poor damage and not worth using.
