Why was Classic more successful than TBCC

Cool man. I hope you enjoy it. I didn’t really like that we couldn’t use 3rd party addons but I guess that’s meant to combat the min/max nature of the genre. I’m kind of envious that you’ll be playing Heavensward for the first time. It’s a wonderful expansion.

When they added boosts it became TBCR. R stand for retail.

To be fair, a lot of the features that add ons in wow provide, are built into FF.

Sounds like you’ve played it and understand the systems. There are some add ons I wish I could use in FF so I feel ya on that one.

I would have liked a damage meter. Not to lord it over other players but to be able to practice and optimize my own rotation. They have an overlay parser but it’s pretty unwieldly lol.

The pvp ques horde side affect the popularity of the game. Don’t want to say that cause it will anger the alliance folks. But it would be a lie not to say it

Tbc was popular cause of arenas and bgs. The honor system change allowed people to enjoy pvp and get gear in tbc.

Yes, that would be a nice thing. I often wonder how I’m doing etc…

I remember on the PVE side a rogue could get a raid or dungeon spot… now it’s “Are you full BIS FOM?” Well then I’m sorry though shalt not play!

Yeah thats the min/max thing. 15 year old game everyone wants the best raid comp. Like classic 20 warriors healers tanks and mages and rogues.

Being a hunter I can relate to what rogues are feeling we felt the same thing in classic. But if I start a group and a rogue asks for an invite. I take them.

Apparently there’s a threat list and you can sort of figure it out from there, but that’s as close as you can really get to figuring it out. For me, if I’m going to run the same content over and over, it’s nice to have something else to play for. Be it parses or trying to top the meter, it adds another element of enjoyment to the game. Unfortunately lots of players have to use those tools to be nasty.

It’s hard to explain, but vanilla felt more like the old school mmo expirience people were craving at the time. TBC in p1 feels like a really small them park mmo.

I played Classic for a bit then left with hopes to come back to TBCC until I saw the horrendous warp stalker mount and boost package. That’s why I didn’t come back to TBCC.

words from a lazy person

Yeah, from a strict profit perspective I’m sure they regard TBCC a resounding success. There’s no longevity to it, but we know from Retail that’s not their focus anyway. It’s about quick micro-transaction surges.

But with that said, a fresh option would bring in a lot of subs. So long as they don’t contaminate that server as well with boosts, mounts, toys, pets.

We aren’t even out of phase 1 yet.

Why don’t you wait a bit.

It’s because of gearing imo. Back in the day everybody was pvping in blues.

Pvp in phase two was legit… until everyone was decked out and started globalling everyone

yeah, Classic died after TBCC was realeased because of the way it was done. They forced all the classic servers to TBCC servers. If they made new fresh TBCC servers, Classic would still have a thriving community.

And don’t tell me it wouldn’t because Classic 60 private servers were around for a decade before Blizzard shut them down.

A massive reboot is what is needed, those those zones as the new content.

New Blizzard doesnt have what it takes though, we all know that by now.

retail has troll paladins lmao?

You mean people went for the most reasonable option and opted to keep everything they work for and move to the next chapter for classic? well yeah but then at the same time they open the box back in classic with the custom item at first.

What you’re saying is that the boost is the cause of everything and the refusal of “fresh” servers when classic was no longer the actual classic after the buff saver.

But this isnt a discussion about custom choices and the now gone “nochanges”
