I’m not going to tell you not to complain about that, but I do think it’s worth reminding you that, complaining about a loss of visual uniqueness isn’t what’s going to get you new customization options. Asking for actual options is what will get you options. Your requests for Farstrider tattoos is an example of “specific”.
I think it’s important to make specific requests. Just asking for “something” to make up for the loss of visual uniqueness isn’t giving Blizzard anything useful to work with. You need to ask repeatedly for something specific and, like in the case of the Dark Ranger/San’layn assets, point out to them that these are assets that already exist, and that they would require little effort to implement and be fulfilling a long time player request.
I understand that loss of visual uniqueness is a sticking point for you, but I don’t think it’s a complaint that’s going to get Blizz to move any faster on getting Blood Elves some attention. I do think asking for specific options (like how players asked for glowy hands for Nightborne) is a more effective method of getting what you want.
I encourage you to keep asking for the options you want as often as it takes you to get them. Just make sure you’re actually asking for something specific so you can hopefully guide the devs to giving you something you actually want and not just leave it up to them to make it up, or else you might just end up with more jewelry.
I speak now in broader terms for all five of us: Ignoring is a cheap solution you can grew accosted of to solve all your problems by hiding them. You cannot push people away in real life by putting them on ignore.
Don’t spam the thread with the idea/concept(s) repeatedly between blue post. It does not get your point across anymore and it only blocks out others feedback.
Only reply with the idea/concept(s) when they post new info to up visibility.
If the idea/concept(s) has been updated with new ideas/info then is okey to post an updated version. (New fanart, refund layout, more examples, ect)
I guess you’d have a point if any of the 10+ posts flagged were removed and yet they were looked at and left alone. So we’re really not speaking about spam at that point but false flagging huh
People find it important to leave feedback how they leave feedback and lord knows HE fans are quite repetitive as well so if that is a nitpick thing then I guess proceeding that’s just the conversation is nitpicking repetition not arguing points or re solidifying our thoughts?
I’d rather argue points or re solidify my thoughts personally.
I want some visual uniqueness for my Void Elves now that we have natural hair colours.
Considering that Blood Elves have a holy motif going on, expanding on the gothic kit and providing red eyes would be very nice. The focal point is supposed to be that whole darkwave, vampiric, voidy, gothic goodness - high elves got what they want. It’s time for us!
For as much as yellow and golds are used for monstrous depictions of various void and vampiric creatures, especially in modern media, I think we can leave that one alone to allow Blood Elves to keep their connection to the Holy Sunwell exclusive.
Blood Elves don’t have red, and red clashes with their focal point as the paladin race of the Horde, so, red eyes for Void Elves.
Have you gone through the Sanlayn thread recently I left a detailed post on why I prefer customization over ARs at this point.
It’s a sticking point because it is a sticking point, and its my main argument for the issues I see with the lackluster BE options a race who lost visual uniqueness in their own customization pass.
I also find it important to remind Blizzard to allow Blood Elves to catch up and part of that reasoning is because BEs lack both a second pass which VEs got and a second visual theme which VEs got, before adding more for VEs.
Wanted to post a blood elf list for when ya’ll come back round to core races.
Amber eyes, orange eyes, red eyes, pink eyes. Also teals and between green and gold colors to represent our eyes shifting from green to blue or gold. (bonus if there is one for green to purple) Phoenix eyes as well.
farstrider, runic, arcane, henna, pheonix or slightly fire based looking tattoos kinda like the Nightborne have going on.
Kinda hoping farstrider tattoos will be Braveheart like.
Henna like tattoos are neat as well as Ariel pointed out.
Scars, body and head…
Pink Hair…also a few more shades and colors of hair in general.
Damaged ears
Beards
Fully encompassed blind options… Including half blind options that actually hits every color for both sides.
Depending how Blizzard chooses to do it I’d like to either see San’layn or Dark Rangers be represented as well… though my preferred is with San’layn as their own AR and Dark Rangers as customization for blood elves.
The thing is, constantly reminding Blizzard about the lackluster Blood Elf pass + the loss of visual uniqueness, isn’t going to get you what you want. It’s like you’re trying to guilt them into appeasing you and I just don’t believe that’s going to be effective. I’m not saying not to complain about it, just that you’re more likely to get what you want by focusing your efforts on asking for specifics, and where possible, pointing out to Blizzard how they can fulfill those specific requests in quicker/easier/less resource intensive ways (such as enabling the dark ranger skin and eyes for example).
Know that I support you getting options you want. Options you want for Blood Elves will often be the same as options I want for my Blood Elf characters. You and I are no longer on opposite sides of a fence. And while I may not be someone you’ll ever come to consider an ally, when it comes to customization requests, I am no longer your enemy. Maybe you’ve noticed (or perhaps you haven’t), I’ve kept my posting in customization topics relatively light compared to the pre-hair-color announcement days. I have no desire to antagonize you or anyone else. My wish is for us all to get the customization options we desire.
Repeating a request vs repeating the request with my argument for the request is no difference and I find it more important to do so.
That people dislike the argument is their own issue I dislike a lot of arguments, I either argue against them or ignore them I’ve never fixated on anyone’s ability to repeat themselves of which I think the entire forums has gotten to know the HE community on that point quite well, so it is highly ironic yes.
In fact it is such a well known fact its publicly joked about when HE fans do not get their way.
So yes I find it perfectly fine to be repetitive in arguments or requests, and when I engage I type them up anew each time, but key points to those arguments are key points period.
Wrong they have an inverted Phoenix… As far as symbology is concerned, that isn’t them embracing the Phoenix motif but actually rejecting it.
And the best part is that this interpretation matches beautifully the Velf lore when we take into account they rejected the political choices of the Belves AND were only so hasty into attacking their former comrades and their allies.
So my dude, I frankly don’t think the Phoenix or regular Phoenix motifs would match the Velves culturally speaking.
Do I need to repeat that you people would actually get amazing unique stuff if you cared more for the suggestions made by your fanbase instead of worrying about which new aspect from the Belves you can poach too?
To be fair, i don’t think they meant that void elves should get phoenix themed customizations, they just pointed out that void elves symbol is a phoenix too. I personally don’t care for phoenix themed options, and i think it should stay with belves because it fits them more.
