Why the lack of Customization?

Red eyes please.
We already have the haircuts and colours.

Technically, vampires don’t even have exclusively red eyes in literature, and san’layn don’t have them either, but it’d just pull the look together for those who want the final piece of the puzzle. And for those who don’t write their vampyr with red eyes, we’ve got them already.

Also, reminder, red is a void colour.
Not like red wasn’t the defining colour of corruption for the majority of the game, and a focal point of one of the major corruption arcs.

Red eyes for Void Elves.
Let the Thalassian exiles group under one banner under the dark shroud of the void.

Goth customization for gothic theme elves isn’t trolling, and pointing out that 90% of the kit’s already there and just missing an eye colour at this point, and maybe a bonus ear shape ain’t trolling. It’s looking at what’s there, connecting the dots, and not throwing a temper-tantrum because goth elves got got customization.

Also, when/if we get star cursed themes, having them in red would be nice too because red is a void colour, and red stars and galaxy motifs, while uncommon compared to purples/pinks/blues, is still very much so part of the space horror aesthetic.

Anyways, gonna go crank my darkwave and visual kei playlists and enjoy playing these alts once PTR launches alongside my void elf and high elf roster.
Subraces are the best thing WoW’s done for a long time, and expanding on them for the Alliance, who lacks in actual racial diversity, is one of the best things they’ve done. Even if this one slid under the radar because people were - rightfully - excited about high elves.

Seeing a ton of San’layn in Stormwind already on RP servers. Can’t wait to make new friends~

Blood Elves losing visual uniqueness to pay for Void Elves second visual theme when Void Elves in addition to their second visual theme retain their own visual uniqueness shouldn’t be a priority for Blizzard while Blood Elves are still so lacking, and especially not when core races like Pandaren are even more lacking on top of that etc etc.

They certainly do not need a third sub race fixed in when whenever they do get back on Blizzards radar after two passes (one of which was during the time blizzard said was for core races and Blood Elves the core race parallel got lackluster options while losing visual uniqueness) they should get void unique options like new hairstyles and scarring.

Red eyes for void elves.

It’s not theft of an aesthetic when the race that cries about everything doesn’t actually have it in the first place.

Stealing this from Blood Elves.

Thinking about it now, giving red eyes - and red tints to the void corrupted aesthetics as well, would be like unlocking our final forms.

Because, you know,

Red is a void colour.

Just nice to have the bonus of getting vampires by “accident” because red is a void colour, and we, for some reason, now have mostly vampiric/goth style hair cuts once the tentacles are off.

Are you replying to arguments that haven’t happened or what you imagine the discussion is?

I haven’t seen anyone not want old god stuff for VEs.

It’s clear you’re arguing but more so at no one against something no one has said besides the fact the point of contention is San’layn a Horde AR request that you’ve previously admitted to wanting for no other reason than being upset people didn’t support the stealing of visual uniqueness from Blood Elves.

Hopefully down the line when the core race that lost visual uniqueness to pay for Void Elves second visual theme catches up and other core races get their lackluster options sorted out for better stuff void elves will get void unique options

Red is a void colour.

It ain’t theft if the aesthetic never belonged to the apparent victim in the first place.

Goblins need Kelfin customization I think too very fitting for customization

Technically speaking, it isn’t theft either when we do not own anything within the game, especially customizations. We all pay to hold a license to be granted access to the game, we don’t pay to claim ownership over anything within the game or the game itself.

That’s because some people such as yourself seem to forget, Void Elves aren’t anything about “embracing” the void or the old gods.

Plus, you continue acting like, “Blood Elves lost there visual uniqueness”, yet, the Void Elves don’t have Green and Gold eyes, something of which is Fel Radiation from there past and Holy Infusion to some of there devotion to the Light. Those are the uniqueness to the Blood Elves.

Indeed. They’re about resisting it and controlling it.

My stance on the San’layn / red eye issue:

Personally I don’t care about San’layn. I’m indifferent if they go Alliance, Horde or remain neutral or are never playable, I just don’t care. I support people who want them playable in either faction.

I do want red eyes for Void Elves though, and that should be respectable as well. Red is a Void color. Not a prominent one, I’ll admit, but it is Void nonetheless. I wouldn’t mind if our red eyes were a different tone from Blood Elves’ future red eyes if people want visual distinction.

Well, not so much about the old gods, but controlling the Void and resisting the corruption and the voices. Old Gods don’t really have anything to do with the Void Elves

After the loss of visual uniqueness for Blood Elves with nothing to offset that in the form of a second visual theme I do hope Nightbornes Highborne theme is and stays preserved as I would not want another Horde race to lose visual uniqueness because 6 Elves living in a cave returned to NE society, that doesn’t now make NE society back into a Highborne caste or Highborne adjacent the way Nightborne preserve that culture.

Very much all of this :raised_hands:t5:

Which is why it makes me laugh when people demand they need to have corruption aesthetics related to them.

We’re more based on some weird combination of etherals and blood elves.

Even our tentacles don’t look like most of the “tentacles” we’ve seen in game.

It’s essentially a type of beautiful cosmic horror.

I’ll still point out we look like they took a beta san’layn and barfed sparkles and tentacles all over it though because of our hair cuts. (…and why we can pretty much make them on PTR now. One eye colour for a subrace ain’t a focal point, it’s just a tiny tasty bonus.)

Some people just ignore the lore. Not that I am against BE receiving San’layn or Dark Ranger customizations either, but there is some lore to why it may not work for BE’s receiving these customizations.

But then they all try and pretend that it is just all RP tools, to most of the customizations, but honestly, there is a bit of lore explanation too with the VE’s and BE’s receiving the High Elf customization’s too.

Blood Elves receiving a second visual theme to offset the loss of visual uniqueness would be great.

Like has been noted by many the inequity, which is a problem stemming from allowing Blood Elves to lose visual uniqueness with nothing in return in the first place.

Another poster in the ongoing request for Dark Rangers / undead elves in some capacity even before the loss of visual uniqueness Blood Elves are currently noted the exchange between Dark Ranger Velonara and she calls Sin’dorei her kin as much as forsaken.

The options like pointed out above seem easy additions, and it would be great for Blood Elf exclusive Farstrider tattoos as well as all races deserve unique additions to their main theme.

Man, look at all those “blood elf thieves” in the Alliance.

My favorite part is the fact devs have always stood by the Alliance High Elf population as a rare sight.

It speaks wonders to the value of RP tools though I agree.

I still want to see Dark Rangers - but with the potential of it disabling the skins if they pick Paladin - on Blood Elves. It’s the equivalent of High Elves being shoved in the Alliance’s face since the dawn of time, so it’s a valid request for them.

San’layn though… Void Elves got their kit mostly covered already. It’s pretty much a matter of just making it formal and giving them an eye colour. Why waste time on assets for another race when they’re just right there already? And then provide some interesting story potential, and another rival for the forsaken?
