Why the lack of Customization?

And yet , again, Velves have hunters, monks and more.

Alleria herself was THE farstrider and she was the first choosing the void.

Yeah I’m not really seeing their point. The classes available to Void Elves reflects this as much.

Maybe Void magic works like an eraser and it makes tattoos vanish? Have we figured out the secret to tattoo removal in Azeroth?

I would be all for these colors, I mean I wouldn’t use them personally but more power to the people that would.

I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with both races getting differentiations of tattoos but I still think the basic ones would be taken from the Farstrider aspect because we are all supposedly High Elves.

alleria was stuck in the nether for a thousand years and looking for a power up to fight the legion

whats your point? you can be a holy priest void elf. you have classes for gameplay reasons

We heavily disagree here then, Blood Elves should be better able to represent their main visual theme on that front.

One can’t say HE fans haven’t been catered to more than enough already let BEs have their Farstrider tattoos exclusively it’s already a stretch to reason Farstriders would join the VEs. Alleria is an Easter egg.

And the people who followed Umbric were stick in the horde looking for a way to be freed from the sunwell addiction (which still exists, is now just satiated) and have Quel’thalas gain its independence.

There is no, “at BE players expense”, it’s your own perspective if you feel options are being “taken away” when they are picking a few to be shared, across a race no less that was introduced as former BE at that.

Blizzard does not see it that way, otherwise they would not have given more of those options.

Again, this is not an either/or situation, despite you trying to make it so.

No, I am asking for added customization options to VE to better emulate Alleria. You turning it toward being some specific thing about BE is your own view.

Alleria, leader of Void Elves, has those options, players of Void Elves want them. Full stop.

Also, nowhere have I been saying Blood Elves shouldn’t be able to represent (insert whatever theme here).

And we have character customization for player reasons.

alleria is not reflective of the void elves. allleria is reflective of a ranger captain of quel’thalas with the farstriders

And yet it could be that’s why you go out of your way to call them Alleria tattoos instead of Farstrider tattoos.

Not to mention her markings are clearly Void inspired in this iteration. Compared to her WC2 Braveheart look.

Curving abstract, almost tentacle looking lines, that go up her arm. And they glow in her Void Form.

They might even be scars from when she tried to learn how to use the Void before, and that is why her armor is missing there as well.

Our main theme has already been mostly shared with Void Elves and the ideas that people keep coming up with to try and change that for Blood Elves keep getting rejected by the person you are backing about not sharing basic tattoos between the two races.

And as someone that originally thought Mag was alright, I’d say you are betting on the wrong horse.

Why do you think I want a “henna” based tatto option? It came from this official concept drawing of a Blood Mage:

https://ia601308.us.archive.org/7/items/i1254170_trbvm_Ss20/ss7.jpg

(yeah I know he looks like proto Rommath); the point was that the dot / tearmark between the eyes drew my attention (yup, it seems a Tilak / Bindi stuff). And I started digging on the nature of such particular artistic feature… I asked a friend who is heavy in the “irl cultural research” stuff a.k.a. Baal, and he was the one to tell me “yup, those seem based in henna”.

Went to read about henna and omg… so much stuff that made sense (how it is usually located in the forehead, arms and feet, how it can use symbols like suns, etc). Taking that into account and the whole “aesthetic vibe on Silvermoon”, I was pretty much sold in the concept. The way to give “different Farstrider tattoos” between Belves and Velves/Helves is to take a “celtic inspiration” for the Alliance race -like Alleria has- and a Islamic Indian inspiration for the Horde race -like Rommath has-.

The most “bold” iterations of warpaint -cause let´s be honest here, what Alleria has is called warpaint irl- I wanted for the Belves I asked to be inspired on the current HORDE warpaint delivered to Orcs and Trolls -the effect is magnificent-:

Yuck, no!! i rather we go the different design route.

Copy pasting will only guarantee what you say: a limited color scale. And I find that absolutely UNFAIR in general stuff like tattoos or warpaint ffs…

I don´t remember Umbric et al sporting the same tattoo design Rommath, Tae´thelan and Examiner Remy sports, though… and mind you, ALL those NPCs have a precendent IN-GAME above Alleria by years.

Velves can absolutely get the Alleria design, but I draw my line on Rommath´s style. That has been Belf since TBC ffs. Same with the runic scarifications of the TBC artbox, that is quite iconic Belf art and it would positively SUCK to see it go to the Velfers when they complained for 3 years and counting about their toons coming from Belf rejects, that petition is pure pettiness.

It depends, the tattoos on the Belf characters seem to be affiliated to the Blood Magi… the same faction Umbric et al couldn´t get far away faster if they could. Why would they emulate Rommath et al if they literally gave him the middle finger as far as orders and magical council was concerned?

Something Belf players need to understand. No matter how many tings velves get.

belves will always have Demon Hunters (with their own customizations BTW) and paladins over them.

Your race already has something more than special than Velves can’t have. Also doesn’t need to be unlocked.

Which is why I suggest Void Elves get the style and type of tattoos Alleria currently has and give the Blood Elves farstrider tattoos that are like they had back in WCII.

Gives differentiation and still lets folk use the tattoos they want.

She literally keeps getting called leader/brethren of Void Elves. Not sure how hard that is to understand, but maybe it’s simply hard for you to accept.

I call em that because they’re specific. The same way Ariel will refer to “Rommath’s tattoos” or people refer to “Grom’s hairstyle”, it’s simple and easy to point as a reference.

BE also still have many unique customization options outside of class, that VE don’t and most likely won’t have.

There isn’t any VE that’s gonna look like me, ever.

ALSO, these are actually Alleria tattoos, because as shown before the farstrider tattoos from WC2, had another design.

I totally agree.

When it comes to magic tattoos I feel like belves should get the ones from the BC box and all that runic looking ones.

Velves should get something more voidy, like the void runes on the BC voidwalkers, and like sha patterns.

Someone hasn´t seen the next level on the petitions scale done by some members of the Helfer community, right?

She has literal celtic warpaint:

Humorously, the triskelion does look quite “voidy” in design… that´s why she lost the “Willian Wallace” looks in favor of this other iterations of celtic warpaint. Cause the “William Wallace” looks went to the ORCS.

i dont think thats fair fen. i actually think its insane to think its ok for void elves to have their own unique culture and demand they get access to blood elves culture as well plus it reveals what you truly desire. it was never any unique void themed customization(surprise)

in WoW allerias farstrider markings are identical to the blood elf farstrider hunter camouflage icon. except they have 2, 1 on each side, and they are green

the easter egg/lotr option is there now. first it was skin tones then hair now the culture leaving blood elves with what? they are the high elves of WoW, what do they get to keep to reflect this?
