so the #nochanges people… want to make changes…
They should just go classic + with new raids, new zones and new class quests. Ideally the cap would remain 60. If they go the TBC route I am cancelling my account.
QQ?? So absurd, flying is not the problem add-ons are. Tell me what would flying do for you if you don’t know where you’re supposed to be going and if mobs aren’t sparkly inquest aren’t sparkling and Addons aren’t telling you exactly what you should be doing.
You guys just love beating that dead horse don’t you.
You can value it all you like, but again, if it’s the part that makes or break the game for you, you don’t like the actual game. To again use my previous example, if you only watch baseball because of the jerseys, do you actually like baseball or do you just like the jerseys? You don’t need jerseys to play baseball afterall…
And I never said it was irrelevant. I said incidental. Again, to use my baseball analogy. You don’t need jerseys to play, but if the jerseys are neon and light up, they can affect the game.
Ahh yes, the classic “I can’t actually form a cogent argument because my feewings so I’ll pretend to be too cool to try and scurry back under my rock” move. Classic…
I don’t know why it bothers you people so much when the obvious is stated. You said the same thing I did. The only difference is you want to pretend to be a martyr when in reality, you’re simply inventing excuses to rationalize why you don’t like WoW.
'Ta…
Illidan was not a hero and Legion was chock full nonsensical retcons.
His story is he’s a power-hungry jerk who keeps getting cucked because he wants Tyrande but she likes his brother better. He does everything for selfish reasons, for personal power gain and to try and impress Tyrande.
He agreed to become Kil’jaeden’s errand boy for yet more power. He then spent the entire Frozen Throne campaign doing things for Kil’jaeden, only to get curb-stomped at the end of the road by Arthas.
He wasn’t saving anything at the Black Temple, he was committing immoral atrocities and wallowing in self-pity after being banished from his home, hoping desperately that Kil’jaeden wouldn’t kick his teeth in for failing him.
His entire story is a cautionary tell, not a heroic one. That’s the ENTIRE point of Warcraft 3. BOTH major heroes do horrible things to accomplish their goals “for the greater good” and BOTH ultimately fail miserably and do more or as much harm as good.
Illidan’s nothing but a loser who twied his b-b-best to steal his brother’s wife, Tyrande notice me pls. He’s an angsty little man-child, and Malfurion’s the responsible, wise adult.
You said incidental.
You’re wrong, it’s not incidental. Edit: to make it obvious, because clearly you aren’t capable of independent, critical thought, when the majority of someone’s playtime is dramatically impacted by something, then it is NOT incidental. A better analogy would be that I don’t like boxing because of the gloves, and therefore prefer MMA. THAT’S closer to the flight/no flight argument.
I actually addressed your argument, and the best you can do is say ‘durrr no it’s incidental duh…’.
Which I knew was the best you could do.
Which is why I said I wouldn’t bother responding (I shouldn’t have).
I gave a rational argument. The problem is you’re far too arrogant and ignorant to recognize it.
So just go away.
I’m sure you “think” you do a lot of super cool things that aren’t actually real.
Boxing and MMA are different sports, and the gloves are integral to the rules of each. Please stop trying. It’s becoming sad.
Do you actually have a counter argument, or is it just your arrogance keeping you in the “Durrrr you didn’t say anything” mode?
AKA actually try defending your silly, arrogant and ignorant argument. You haven’t yet.
Edit: Also, apparently nuance is lost on you, because I said that the boxing/MMA analogy is closer to the flight/no flight than the stupid baseball one (that is reductive and false). In other words, I fully accept that it’s a bad analogy. It’s just not as much of a reductive and false analogy as the one you trotted out as an “argument” in your favor.
I’ve explained it to you twice now. Doing it a third time seems counterproductive.
And, lo and behold, you’re wrong about your analogies. The gloves aren’t incidental to boxing. Just like a bat isn’t incidental to baseball. They are required to play the games. Jerseys and flight are not. If either boxing or baseball stopped using gloves or bats, the game would fundamentally change. If flight vanished from WoW, the game would remain nearly identical to what it currently is.
Again, I apologize for not being able to dumb this down enough to pierce the double wide slab of granite you have shielding that wee nugget you call your brain, so I implore you to seek assistance.
I’m so confused by this weird thing where people just see a post, attribute it randomly to some opposing argument arbitrarily, and then go “SEE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE WANT THIS!”
I’m not one of those people. I’m a proponent of the OSRS style of voting for implementing new classic+ stuff.
2 weeks to get to level 13? Slow down turbo.
And what happens in a vote? Some people say yes. Some people say no. Some people can’t decide, don’t vote at all, don’t know how to vote, or even know ABOUT the vote.
You will end up alienating people no matter how you implement stuff that wasn’t in the original game, no matter what you do.
Uh, no? You put one vote on the forum, and one in-game at an NPC.
In OSRS almost the entire community of subs vote because there’s an easy to find NPC that anyone will gladly point you to that always has the new ballots.
Plop em right in front of the bank in stormwind and org.
ROFL.
You actually think that would change the vote significantly? Get serious.
Regardless of how it was implemented, “Classic +” would push people AWAY rather than draw them in.
People are playing Classic BECAUSE of what it is now (or what it was then… whatever), NOT because of they want to see it be DIFFERENT.
For people who wanted Classic, that’s just a step towards Retail for them.
Except it’s not?
I’m talking not about just adding expansions, which is what I don’t want. I’m talking about specifically adding content that suits the feel of classic. That’s why we’d have voting for it as well. If the community disagrees that it’d be a fit for the feel of classic they simply won’t let it in.
You’re not getting it though. Most people who wanted Classic WANTED CLASSIC. Not Classic PLUS OTHER STUFF.
Voting won’t do anything put cheese people off and make them quit, because you’re ALWAYS going to end up with a segment that will HATE something, and probably one that will hate ANY changes.
Except here’s the plot twist. Most of those popular private servers people keep bringing up as bastions of vanilla…
Did actually have their own custom content and small changes and people enjoyed it.
What you’re asking for is a situation in which we get nothing new ever and the game just stagnates and slowly loses it’s playerbase until only like the 500 hardcore people remain.
What I am asking for is a world in which Blizzard continued to update classic in a good direction that kept the feeling of community involvement and a fun world to be in alive. Why are people so against that? Why can’t you have classic with more content?
I’m not talking about Garbage like Flying, LFG, Party finder etc. Those are things we ALL know killed WoW. I’m talking about things that FIT and if anything are sidegrade content.
You’re going to sit here and tell me that if they added a new optional zone that looked just like other classic maps, had it’s own fun unique theme and was just a new side questing zone you could do if you want to, you’d be completely opposed to this because it’s not classic? That’s delusion.
Please tell me when that ends? Do they then make some class changes? Do they add some new mounts? Or tack on to the story?
When does it stop looking like CLASSIC and start looking like CLASSIC+, which is exactly what you’re advocating?
And how do you REALLY decide what “looks like” Classic and doesn’t? My idea of what that looks like could be WILDLY different from yours. One of us would ALWAYS be wrong.
Flying was fine in TBC because zones were actually designed around it. You were intended to poke around on the bottom areas while leveling, then do endgame dailies up in the flying areas. Even in Wrath we had zones like Icecrown and Storm Peaks that were designed around it.
These days nothing is actually designed around flying. It’s an afterthought, if that.
You can’t just sit there and only think about the potential future you don’t like. That’s pure pessimism.
When does it end? Simple, it ends when the community wants it to. That’s what the voting system is for.
