Why so much hate over high elf options

While they didnt get their own model, they did get their own customization but that didn’t go over too well, sooooo

So it’s better to have the stolen rig on the enemy side as long as it keeps them quiet and not asking for “regular” elves hu?

So it’s a skin thing for you.

You’re delusional if you think stating a fact on popularity is arrogance and greed my guy.

There has been a High elf request in the forums for 13 years, loudly for 2 of them, I’ve literally never seen a thread for more void customization until they were given high elf customization.

I never said one was more important than the other, I said one is inherently more popular because of its history.

Popularity ≠ Importance

Get a grip.

The same reason I’ve personally always felt for the HE community, is the same reason I’m kind of unhappy, in terms of just a lot of peoples glazing over other people or fan groups, which I felt is what was them at one point too.

But I look at BE’s my actual favorite race being paid dust.

The San’layn community has been around for just as long wanting San’layn, they were paid dust.

Void Elf fans of the void kind of haven’t gotten anything other than their existing options to look forward to, and I don’t think when VE’s are touched up on again that the HE customizations should take precedence thats just how I feel personally, though I do like the idea of the Kul Tiran styles and textures or other Alliance hairs being shared at some point.

Idk what I thought was the underdog / people I felt bad for suddenly seem less likable when given the opportunity, so if thats what makes me an anti like I guess but its still an LOL from me about it.

I think I’m just for fairness in how I view things being or trying to be fair. And I dislike the tone or bullying of some people because they are actual people who object to the model being shared, it’s just a plethora of reasons.

As for army of alts, good luck! I only have 3 characters I play, it takes me ages, I’m still deciding what I want my fourth class to be, (I have a boosted paladin but he doesn’t count he just exists).

The best we have gotten so far is Calia and her storylines are mostly botched because of almost all of them taking place in the books and then not showing up in the game or gameplay it’s BS.

Chances of this were even lower than high elves.

they’d be very wrong lol. They are night elves…jsut not Tyrande’s night elves.

Which is funny…even tyrande’s night elves aren’t hers anymore. She has been incommunicado since night warrior. And is looking to be raid bossed killed worst case. Or…will be sent away illidan style. He was a raid boss too but one of the few that gets to live. He’s complicated .

And its not like we can back tyrande if she goes sylvanas/garrosh kill happy. Which is sad. I could scare up a night elf who just wants to see that blood flow.

What the hell are you on about?

I think adding void elves, and especially giving them a link to high elves now is regressing the blood elf story, and that the nightborne add nothing to the horde as it’s just a complete repeat of the blood elf story, except they’re blue. Night Elves and Blood elves are a nice contrast and they should have left it at that and maybe played up their OLLLD animosities rather than retconning things to make a splinter faction for the alliance.

Maybe because before then there wasn’t any indication that ARs would be getting more options anytime soon?

They’re just lorelets who refuse to acknowledge Thalassian elves are, have been, and always will be a race that is core to the Alliance’s identity.

They are core to Horde identity.

In direct opposition to the fact that all 3 stories having nothing to do with each other when it pertains to WoW.

High Elves are Alliance Elves, choosing to stick to their allies and their values rather than their homeland.

Blood Elves are Horde Elves, seeking refuge and redemption and found it in their allies and the light.

Void Elves are Blood Elves turned to the Void and switched factions.

How you think any of these stories overlap and regresses the Blood elf story is beyond me, if anything all 3 groups add to each other’s stories in their differences, no one is confusing the elves for each other, if you are, you don’t care too much about lore or story to begin with.

And you think that stopped people asking for High Elves after BC?

Or for fixes to Nightborne after their introduction?

If the thread “High elf customization for Void Elves” can exist after the introduction of Void Elves, then so can “Void customization for Void Elves”, it’s a matter of request not a matter of “indication”.

its literally canonical they arent. insisting they still are is simply being ludicrous

also friendly reminder that what you are asking for is already there

What’s actually starting to become irksome is that Void Elf players can’t ask for anything without backlash and stigma.

Want more old god/void options and more fantasy tones? “You give the helfers an inch they take a mile, lolololol”

And yes I understand that Void Elves got new skin tones that stepped on some people’s toes.

Territorial Blood Elf players with a false sense of ownership? Too bad, the aesthetic was never exclusive to the Horde in visual representation and with Alliance Thalassian npcs with fair tones being pushed from BC to today, the writing was on the wall and no amount of willful ignorance was going to change this.

Nightborne and other Legion races that didn’t receive equal treatment? I actually have some sympathy for them and hope that they too inherit the majority, if not all of their parent races skin tones as well. I’m also disappointed that they wouldn’t have these ready by launch as well.

This is also pretty true. The Alliance ‘lost’ their violet hued Elf aesthetic long before the Horde ‘lost’ their fair skin tone aesthetic, which isn’t even live yet.

So this could very well indeed be considered evening things out.

Still though I do want to see Undead tones for both Blood Elves and Night Elves. I do want to see the Nightborne get more tones, which would be perfectly fine coming from Night Elves as far as I’m concerned.

The core value of my tangent is that I don’t like seeing people trying to sabotage other groups just because they didn’t get what they wanted.

Seethe more, lorelets. The Alliance can now play High Elves thanks to the new Void Elf skin options and I’m sure we’ll see cool High Elf hair when Blizzard does a cosmetics pass for allied races. It’s only a matter of time until the TBC mistake is fully rectified.

They had to do some major *** pulling to justify that, and it never worked.

I get they wanted to be different, but it was just awful implemention and still to this day has never made sense.

?

This just seems so counterproductive linking the HE request to viewing BE’s as “a mistake” and then people wonder why BE fans are so anti HE.

You are currently posting and clearly playing a Blood Elf Paladin so clearly you are already aware that you aren’t ever going to get an elven Paladin on Alliance so seethe on that.

Simple. The high elf story is now the blood elf story, the high elves we see now are a sop to people who got upset in BC that things weren’t the same as they were in the base of WC2. As they grow closer to players they lose their usefulness as flavor the story trajectory of the race and are like a bad injection of standard fantasy for people who were upset the story wasn’t completely generic.

Your group is just really demanding so could not be satisfied with what they got. The people enjoying void elves may not have thought it needed to make these requests until your wants started to take up space that could go to more unique options.

It’s Joy Lann, you’re better off trying to convince a wall. This is their line and they have never wavered from being that wrong.

this isnt exactly true. and this is a perfect example of the gaslighting these people do. they are present in dalaran. in fact when alliance players have seen them it is always in relation to dalaran, and when dalaran isnt involved they arent seen at all

I don’t actually care. In my opinion, High Elf paladins are a WoW retcon that never appeared in the lore before Cataclysm. Paladins aren’t necessary for my enjoyment of Warcraft’s canonical depiction of Thalassian elves.
