I’ve seen a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to this.
There are Alliance players that justify the helf skintones because the Horde got “night elves” but when nightborne players ask for night elf stuff all of a sudden those same Alliance players say no, they’re completely different races
So you’re mad that the “human” faction got elves that look more “human”?
So should I be mad that the monster faction got elves that look human and elves that look “fantasy”?
If anything this evens the scales my dude. We already had blue elves, void elves were redundant in this, then they were given “regular” skin tones, so now it’s even.
But I mean, knowing you, you never wanted fairness or equality.
I mean I’m okay with the sharing aspect, I’m happy people could be a wayfarer if they wanted to, I try to see the best in things, not to say that you aren’t I just, I find it acceptable. I just don’t find it acceptable what Blood Elves have received in exchange.
I feel I’ve always remained consistent, I’ve always been very protective of BE lore and things like Quel’thalas or different ideas to make BE’s neutral what have you. I’ve never been protective of the model in terms of the sharing of likeness, its the sharing of likeness and being paid literal dust I dislike, and I’m sure its 100x more aggravating for people who did put value on the model exclusivity.
But this can be my stance and I’ll still be viewed by some as “anti HE” now so what real difference does it make really. I just feel the scale of fairness has been really skewed. So I too despite being okay with having HE customization on both, still feel let down.
I’ve seen people be okay with the model sharing etc, but draw the line at sharing tattoos, citing it should be a VE exclusive thing because of Alleria.
Like which is it? You’re either fine with sharing, or you suddenly value and understand the value of exclusive options? At least be consistent.
Thats disregarding the fact I think BE’s deserve Farstrider tattoos based on Farstrider culture alone, I just mean some people would argue against BE’s getting that, but the irony of being proponents of wanting to share?
Because most of them are really one sided, they have no issue taking and taking and taking away the uniqueness of Blood Elves from Horde and Horde players but if we want the same thing or to do the same thing with Night Elves from Alliance and Alliance players it’s like oh my god that’s unfair for whatever reason they happen to want to use at the given moment it’s absurd.
You say as you demand everything you want after spending plenty of time in the past demeaning the wants of the people who actually enjoy that AR since their wants get in your way.
Frankly, my horse in this race is more about protecting the story from boring vanillaness and preferring more unique options over copy pasting (or badly botching a paste job) of existing races to the other side.
But if people are going to try and wave the flag of fairness and equality from a position of favor while demanding more at the expense of others, that I’ll call out.
its beyond the pale. the alliance high elves(non horde or dalaran) have been described as literally a handful sticking it out and that they are assimilating into their host societies. thats their canon status and lore rationale for not being AR material. and this guy puts this microscopic presence on a pedestal as if its a major part of the alliance. incredible
Yeah, I’ve noticed a few also get defensive when Horde ask for Nathanos undead or even Manari. It’s not as common tho.
I know fem night elves are already getting at least that one nightborne hairstyle. What I’d really like is for nightborne to get smoother/altered options of night elf hairstyles.
Maybe I’m viewed as an anti too now. Truthfully I’ve just accepted blizzard will do this because it’s easier than making an actually distinct helf race and will shush enough people up.
I’m just going to focus on my night elves, and the new army of alts I’m making.
Yet had 0 issue telling us to deal when they did this exact thing with Void Elves.
Good thing you have nothing to call out aside from your own bias then.
Since it took having them quite literally stealing blood elf skin tones for you to cry foul yet when they stole the actual rig you were nothing but silent and telling people to deal with it.
While you sat pretty with blue elves and “regular” elves. In complete opposite to fairness and equality you pretend you ever cared about.
Lol sorry, you wildly misconstrued what demeaning means when it comes to simply explaining the popularity of the high elf request, I’m sure in your overtly anti-centric eyes you see that as demeaning when it’s in fact a straight fact that in this scenario Blizzard created, long time running high elf customization would trump any void customization for void elves when in competition on the same race.
Not to say they shouldn’t ask for whatever they’d like to see, but that one request is simply and factual bigger than the other.
The real problem is most Alliance players that make these threads want our races like Blood Elf and Vulpera on Alliance because they don’t want to play Horde but they take it further and further by wanting more and more and more with stuff like all of our customizations, our mounts, our storylines, etc. and then when we mention wanting something in trade or for fairness they get defensive and fight with you because that’s Alliance or belongs to the Alliance because for them it’s all about what they want and reading any of these threads reinforces that over and over again.
I want the top knot looking one. It’s my favorite. I’d really like the new nelf hairstyles to be shared with other races, same with the new draenei styles. My belf ladies would hold the barbers hostage for some of them.
Yeah and what make’s it all worse is that Blizzard indulges them. You can some of examples of Horde races either in the Alliance or enamored by them. Goblins? There’s one in their spy unit and the goblin that married the gnome went Alliance. Undead? Alonsus Faol. Orc? Saurfang needed to learn “honor” from Anduin. And of course worst of all blood elves. They just had to leave a couple of them on the Alliance so people could throw a tantrum until they become/became playable.
For once, I wanna see some Alliance race characters go Horde.
