Why so many FF14 topics?

Id say PvE and PvP content. I think in terms of M+ and Raids wow is just better in those regards.

It was a “wow is great” echo chamber back when you know wow was great. The best wow has been in the past seven years was a brief time in Legion.

If everyone that has a negative thing to say about wow left and never came back the game would be dead except for the 10 people on here that do nothing but sing wow’s praises no matter what.

Ever tried savage raiding or any of the other high end content? Atm I’m just trying to finish the tier w/ my static and playing WoW on the side leveling through SL. The end-game content is really what keeps me playing XIV and captures my interest now that I’ve got all my jobs to 80, etc.

PvP? Absolutely. PvE? I’d disagree. But it’s a matter of taste. They just aren’t the same, so it’s hard to compare them 1-to-1.

Personally I’d say that there are certain systems that WoW players take for granted (like WoW’s endless storage transmog system) and PvP where WoW really shines.

Then thats not an echo chamber if such is not existing for multiple years.

I disagree. I think WoW puts more effort into dungeons and raid design than FF does. I also disagree with FF14 raid design basically being a glorified trial.

Similar quality, but WoW beats FFXIV on quantity hands down. No one does the loot treadmill better than WoW, and trying to beat them at their own game has been the downfall of many MMOs throughout the decades.

I will disagree on quality on one thing – all Eden raids have consisted of some floating platform in the middle of space. Theres very little environmental design to them – which plays into the feel of a raid.

For example, I like CN because of the aesthetic environment including into the fights and mechanics. Eden doesnt give me this feeling because its essentially the same style of environment every time. Evern Omega had more environment design into it.

Do…do you honestly not understand what I’m saying here? Real question.

For your point to make sense, the echo chamber would need to exist currently. If it doesnt exist currently, then the comment makes no sense.

Like I feel the “FF14” on GD has become so much of an echo chamber as of recent because people ignore the criticisms towards that game more often. GD has been WIDELY open to criticizing WoW.

Very few WoW encounters actively utilize environmental design, either. Broodlord is really the only one springing to mind, but I’m sure there are a few more. But the vast majority may as well be a “floating platform” since the mechanics of the fight are what necessitates movement and formation 99% of the time.

I’ll just leave this here for an indication as to how Squenix treats its players

My point is…it is NOT that type of echo chamber right now.
Follow me here…
If everyone that has a complaint with wow just up and vanished tomorrow, this forum would be a “wow is great” echo chamber.

That’s my point. Not a difficult point to follow or at least I didn’t think so…

That’s cute.

The difference (between trials) is the amount of mechanics, the difficulty, etc. Would you be happier if they added trash mobs between the bosses and made you fight them all in one go? I could make arguments that by focusing on less bosses and putting more work into each one, that XIV actually puts more effort in.

But the truth is that I don’t really think that’s true.
It’s just an entirely different system. You can’t really compare them in the way you’re trying to do. And it’s alright if you prefer WoW’s take on end-game content more. But it doesn’t make WoW better. It’s just preference.

I do like WoW’s Mythic + system and would love to see something like it implemented in XIV though. After a certain point in XIV there’s little reason to run dungeons outside of story content and I’d love to see that change.

You wouldn’t believe how freeing it is to break that FOMO spell with WoW. I know its almost cliche at this point, but im only on the forums until my sub runs out. 14 days left I think.

No I’m realistic and basing my opinion off of what I’ve learned of multiple expansions.

I have watched expansions like legion be down right hated at content for mundane things like suramar and people saying the quest were time gated to remembered it with love and longing b/c they fixed those issues as the xpack went on.

You gave 4 (of what you seem to think of as major issues) and 2 of which are already being OVERHAULED and won’t exist in 2 weeks.

As for covenants that doesn’t really effect people like you because you expressed you don’t raid or pvp so picking a non best in slot covenant for your class wouldn’t matter since it be only for questing? and like world quest?

I understand you are upset with the state of the game and there’s truly nothing wrong with that but you ignoring consistent themes from other xpack’s and how things are normally fixed.

They know how to keep a player base because even at their lowest points most are willing to come back in a few months or years and bam its a different game.

Ooh yeah, that’s a big one for me.

I like a lot of the armor in FF so my glamour dresser filled up fast. I can get by with what they provide, but I’d kill for the WoW transmog system.

True but the forums over there are slower than FFXIV’s GCD.

The problem with infinitely scaling and timed content is that it creates enormous toxicity. At best, you could probably add a few more difficulties for dungeons above “hard”. With some sort of currency incentive.

I like mplus, but I hate what it did to the community.

Sure they may not USE the environment – but usually the areas where you fight bosses will look aesthetically different or be in different forms (Denathrius fight would come to mind here immediately).

I disagree. From playing EX Trials and Savage Raids – they both feel about the same with number of mechanics, communication, and flow.

The only difference is EX Trials are usually not a larger encompassing story unlike Raids and lockout for loot when current.
