Just look at how long people stayed interested in beta. It was a ghost town long before it shut down. Even the streamers making money off of it got bored of it. It’s just not realistic to think Classic provides enough content for people to stay interested long-term. I played in vanilla and in beta and I don’t really see myself wanting to play classic WoW for years to come. There simply is not that much there. It will become something you maybe go back to every once in awhile when your bored.
I think they would have been better off making a mega-server for each server type and just not have to deal with realm-specific population issues at all, but a short list of realms and layering was the compromise between players with no issues with layering and the rabid anti-layering players that overestimate its impact on your experience.

Why? Why? Because they almost exclusively/only gave beta invites to streamers and their friends. It’s not like it was an open beta.

No, that’s simply not reality. It was a small beta, but there were hundreds of us and there are not hundreds of popular streamers. They also had no power to hand out random invites to friends. I’m not a streamer and don’t know or even watch any WoW streamers and I got in in either the first or second wave of invites.
You think you would have played beta every day you could from the time you got in until the day it shut down? It wasn’t the people, it was boredom.
The level cap combined with the knowledge that it was all temporary made you give up on it sooner than you would on live, but I’m being totally realistic. Most people are going to quit in a month or less. Not because it’s hard or too much, but because they’ll be bored to tears and go play another game.

Their armory is plenty visible and it shows they definitely played vanilla. Your account, however, does not show any signs of that. Definitely safe to assume you’re either a troll or a private server zealot that thinks they know what/how vanilla was.

Is it possible people stopped playing because they knew everything was going to be wiped? Not to mention the level cap preventing you from progressing further, the same thing will not happen when the game goes live.
I’m actually confused by your claim that Classic WoW lacks content, in fact I would argue it offers far more than BFA ever could. To each his own I suppose.

Classic is not going to outdo itself from 15 years ago. Blizzard’s expectations are probably closer to the mark, though I think they’re low. 500k residual is an optimistic value. Blizzard seems to think its more like 200k.

The Raid achievements in Classic can be completed in retail, it proves nothing.
Yes. I had it on private a few months back because I was testing what it did. Other than that, nothing.
The Legacy PVP titles can only have been gained at 60.
