Mitigation isnt the issue when things die before they can do their full ability set or cant do their ability set because theyre silenced, interrupted, and stunned.
You can’t benefit from making 0 damage less than 0.
You can, however, greatly benefit from making 100k damage output into 300k.
Other tanks have literally uselessly high mitigation vs specific damage types that would already be doing negligible damage. Prot paladin has the mitigation, self healing, immunity to damage, interrupts, cc, blocks, and everything else a tank needs…plus literally millions of dps.
You act like an extra 300k dps does that. If it does then you are over geared and running baby keys. DPS absolutely needs to rotate AoE stops. I said it before already, we rely very heavily on group utility.
That’s because that’s how you kill metas. You don’t kill metas by nerfing the things that are meta. All you do then is make everything equally bad and punish people for being good. If I’m playing paladin and it’s nerfed it doesn’t magically make me want to play something else, it makes me want to quit the game. Just like in a game such as Destiny, COD, or something else. If I have a shotgun, pistol, and rifle, and the pistol is outdoing the other 2. Nerfing the pistol isn’t going to magically make the other 2 better, it’s make the pistol as bad as the other 2. If they want more people to use the shotgun or rifle, then buff the shotgun and rifle.
#1 Ara-Kara run in terms of DPS 1.394 mil.
CoT 1.051 mil.
GB 1.154 mil.
Mist 1.250 mil.
SoB 1.113 mil.
DB 1.115 mil.
NW 1.4 mil.
SV 1.4 mil.
Just stop. Like seriously you don’t know what you are talking about. I get you are salty that Warriors are not meta anymore, but you don’t understand anything about Paladins.
Broodtwister is 1.8m which is the equivalent of a mythic run in terms of normalized damage per second. In ara kara the mobs are damaged to 20% then they are allowed to destruct away from players, lowering dps numbers.
I don’t even know what you copy pasted. Just stop trying to argue about something you don’t understand. You are the literal text book definition of Dunning Kruger.
Heres how dps meters work. They count as long as youre in combat. Even when youre not.
Prot paladin tanks do 1.4m dmg in instances that mark them as in combat 90 percent of the time but their actual overall dps removing the non combat parts is 50 percent higher.
What i copy pasted is dps for a fight where you are actually actively fighting a mix of single target and multi target packs , alternating.
In other words, real dps. Not dps based on a single stationary target or dps based on half the time not being able to do dps.
Which is why I stated multiple times already that we rely very heavily on group utility. Our many buttons are weak in comparison to other classes aside from bubble.
