Honestly I am mostly in the guild for the hearthstone perk. xD…
Oh…well your problem is an easy one to fix. Find yourself a laidback heroic raiding guild. They may not get into mythic raids, but those are the most fun guilds to be in.
Omg lol. You don’t see that I want solo stuff in the game to play progress. I did raid for a time solo for the gear… but it just comes with too much commitments man. If I play by myself I do not have to feel like I am tied to this game or those people. Or deal with guild disputes. Guilds are nice but that is an extra layer of commitment to this game that I am not interested in doing all the time.
Especially with my schedule.
Item level (i.e. gear) are the rewards that you get for completing content. Character levels are your character physically gaining a level. Gear is not character level. Gear is independent from character levels.
Again, outleveling current content is not an option in WoW. Outgearing is. Leveling generally doesn’t take a lot of skill just grinding and time, doing progressively difficult content for greater rewards does. I’m sorry if you’re having trouble grasping this concept.
I don’t think you’re going to run into that kind of drama in a heroic raiding guild. They aren’t going to care if you can only make 1 raid a month. Nothing stops you from getting some progression in solo content, but there’s just never going to be a scenario in which you’re going to be awarded gear that’s similar to what’s going out in group content.
You’re in full epics and you have a legendary. You’re 20 ilvls off the best gear in the game. You’re doing fine.
They are essentially the same thing. Level effects base stats and is basically attunement of content.
Item Level on gear is basically the level within a level. Your gear determines all the power you have in this game besides the accompanying borrowed power systems. Out leveling in wow is getting higher ilvl. People often want higher ilvl folks because that nerfs the content they do. It is harder to do content with a lower ilvl. Therefore the game is more challenging at a lower ilvl.
What’s not fair is that you expect to be on the same level as players who put forth effort into downing mythic Sylvanas while you’re killing frogs.
Gear item level and character levels are not the same thing. Outleveling is having a higher character level than the content requires. Outgearing is having a higher item level of gear than is needed for the content. There’s a reason that certain achievements such as “Herald of the Titans” have an item level AND character level requirement to attain. It’s because they’re considered seperate by the creators of the game.
I think casual gearing (i.e. not in formalized grouping) has been great in Shadowlands. Get yourself gear and grind it up to max which is at par or better than regular raid gear.
As a non-grouping person, once you hit regular raid it should be time to go and work on another alt… that has been the casual end-game loop for ages and Shadowlands does it better than old-school Wow where you got nothing unless you entered dungeons/raids/pvp.
In game mechanics yea… but it is still a similar concept. It is still called item LEVEL… you can out level in this game by outgearing stuff. All your power is basically tied to gear if you removed all your gear you will not stand a chance in fights. Because your gear has most of your power budget.
But if you don’t have the required character level to equip that gear, you won’t be using it period. Regardless doing world quests should not reward the best gear in the game. We’re going off topic and into tangents at this point.
Your the one that brought up “rpg elements”. I explained how out leveling content is simllar to outgearing and is also and rpg elements. You also said if I don’t like it I should stop playing, and I explained that outgearing is also an rpg element and I do like that myself. Wow’s version of outgearing = ilvl
You already significantly outgear world quests. You’re basically a heroic raider in that gear while having not stepped foot in a raid. You’re doing fine.
Exactly. If they want to keep a playerbase, saying “thats how it is, love it or leave” is going to get people to leave.
You mean LK when you could do a dungeon once a day and get badges to buy tier gear?
So why do you need higher level gear if you’re not doing higher level content? There’s no reason for 252 gear unless you’re pushing past m+ 15s or into mythic raid.
The forums are just not representative of the playerbase as a whole. It’s been raining gear for years now.
Because without SOMETHING to aim for, theres no point in playing at all. You guys keep on spewing this drivel about no need for i level. Yet without something to aim towards, why play at all?
Thats simply not true. The higher the I level, the easier open world content becomes. Because we CANT outlevel it now, it levels up with us. So gear becomes the ONLY overpower mechanic.
There’s plenty to aim for, but it’s not a single player game. Join a guild…problem solved.
You significantly outgear world content in your gear.
Why are you responding to me? I never said there’s no need for i level.
These whiny kids can’t accept the fact that some things need to be earned and literally want it for little to no effort.
My current ilevel is 250 and I earned all of it. I have 3 pieces that still need upgraded to 252, but haven’t got the drops after several weeks.
You didnt earn anything. You played a game. Geezus christ its like talking to a child.
I literally quoted you saying so.
There will never be a connection between the casual player, and those whos ego depends on keeping others down.
Literally there is nothing each side could say to convince the other.
