Why not give Casuals high lvl gear?

The tower knowledge system they have now is a good middle ground for that as it would still incentivize performance for loot as clear speed is only part of the score.

I think it was more that people are exhausted with time limits being slapped on content to make it ā€œchallengingā€. Even if players were willing to add an hour to their run to power through it waiting on buffs, it wouldnā€™t hurt anything. Things should be allowed to be both enjoyable and rewarding without paying a fun tax.

Its nice progression but again torgast isnā€™t rewarding to do. I basically only do it for the adamant vaults conduit upgrade thatā€™s locked to a weekly dropā€¦ and that isnā€™t guarenteed either. Gotta 5 star it and hope it drops unless you do the 5 star on the 12th level which is more or less guaranteed but again probably reliably doable with raid gear.

So, in another thread, I was told to go to Korthia to get gear since Iā€™m not a big fan of running dungeons over and over and I donā€™t PvP. Was told that Korthia opens up after saving Baine. Iā€™ve saved Baine and no Korthia. :woman_shrugging:

Maybe Iā€™m just an idiot and canā€™t figure this stuff out, but honestly, the things we have to do after getting to level 60 can be confusing for new players like me.

It was suggested earlier in this long thread or in another thread - I forget which - that they should just let solo players gear from Torghast. As badly as itā€™s received now, I imagine a lot of players would complain about having to play Torghast to get gear.

But thatā€™s aside my point. These forums complain about any solo content that takes effort.

Placeholder. I said placeholder loot items.

Those were always subject to change. Since they werenā€™t sure what they wanted from torgast it seems for a long time. The whole expansion was rushed in a way so I think it was like Legion where they knew azerite wasnā€™t the thing to do but they stuck with it because it was the only thing they planned. Torgast was made to be a speedrun mythic plus reskin imo. And the community wanted to not feel rushed in some game modes.

They ended up using the tier sets and gear in SoD anywayā€¦

I think it got a bad reputation earlier on due to the weekly time gated nature for crafting legendaries and nothing else, but I canā€™t really fault that system even if Iā€™m also glad itā€™s gone now to facilitate playing around with more legendaries. I never had any problems there, but I main a shaman which is one of the easiest classes to solo Torghast and not all classes are equal there.

Yeah, trust me, I know. lol

I main arcane so bosses didnā€™t exist. So I get why I may have been alright with Torghast more than others.

Lol ā€¦ you are never gonna get ā€¦ which literally has happened just about every expac.

Horrific visions and invasions dropped quality solo loot literally just at the end fo the last expac. Content difficulty and group demands make a difference in gearing - they always have, but rarely as much as they have in SL ā€¦ and we can all see the result. The game sucks and people have been quitting in legendary droves.

This is how the game has been designed since launch. You have higher chances of winning the lottery than it would be to change.

Iā€™m not offended at all. Entertained actually. Itā€™s always the same bad players asking for free gear and claiming to be casual.

In 9.0 it was stupid time consuming on rogue to solo. The powers for rogue weā€™re also awful. It could take over an hour to clear a torghast wing on Rogue versus 30 minutes on my lock.

Visions and invasions were literally catch up gear.

Iā€™m pretty sure this is a troll thread but it does bring up a question.
Why does it seem like only ā€œcasualsā€ feel entitled to better gear?

You donā€™t see people who only raid heroic asking where their Mythic gear is.
you donā€™t see 1800 players on here whining about 2100 gear.

itā€™s always the people who have made the conscious decision not to participate in ā€œhigh endā€ content constantly complaining on here that that donā€™t haveā€¦ any content.

Itā€™s not even high end. Itā€™s group content in general.

This is 100% true if no feedback is given or as long as ā€œit isnā€™t broken (according to me)ā€ is still the prevailing mentality. If the system is player retention, then player feedback stating issues does mean it is flawed in some way. Will they act on it? Who knows, but you canā€™t simply disregard feedback based on history.

Iā€™m glad. Personally, I do +15s for gear, but my stance is that I honestly donā€™t care if solo players can reach 246 gear by the end of a content patch and go into the next world content zone with an advantage instead of re-rolling, wasting time, or doing unpleasant content. Would I probably avoid picking someone with 246 gear and 0 rating in a queue for a +15? Likely. But Iā€™d also wouldnā€™t care at all if they were queuing for a +5 valor run with the same stats since that content is trivial at that point but could still be challenging or enjoyable for them. So I donā€™t get the general backlash against the request for extension of the current progression systems as I do not see how it would impact me.

My theory is theyā€™re self-proclaimed ā€œcasualsā€ but are really just players who, for whatever reason, struggle to get group content done despite ease of access. Itā€™s easier to call yourself a label that implies you arenā€™t invested when youā€™re invested but not getting the results you want.

Yea people would still need to grind rating to get invited. And the gear would be of more value to people who know there class then those who donā€™t anyway.

Soā€¦ give them more meaningful content and rewards that donā€™t minimize rewards in other content.

Blizzard is very sporadic with open world gear patch to patch. 9.0 had the covenant sets that were really good.

Lets not forget about the benthic gear in nazjatar that was so broken that Mythic Raiders were running some of the pieces the entire tier.
