Why not give Casuals high lvl gear?

Not’ It was people like preach and his ilk. casuals and solo players didnt QQ over 0.5%dps lol

You missing the point, its about progress and fun game play that isn’t just a hub for insulated groups. There needs to be MORE, or wow will die like it is.

World of Hubcraft.

I wanted to come back and try out shadowlands, played for a few weeks until I realized that running heroics and trying to do world quest or whatever google told me (the amount of help in game is useless) to up my ilvl was just way too much effort to even get into an LFR. No one is going to take a new returning player into mythic dungeons so I quit retail again.

It’s overwhelming, confusing and most importantly unfun and punishing.

The game steers you right to Korthia, where you loot ilvl 200+ gear off of trash mobs or can buy it from vendors.

The minimum ilvl for LFR Sanctum is 195.

I played at launch, I didn’t see “catch up gear”

The point is group content shouldn’t be the only thing that does it… it’s actually advocating for more paths of progression. A solo and casual path is nice. If you want to raid for gear you will and probably already get gear faster. Since they make this game better for people who raid already and delay other content so raiders don’t feel like they have to do it!

Very true indeed.

Korthia/Maw is solo, Torghast is solo, covenant sets in 9.0 were solo.

For real though one of the best parts of nyloatha was the horrific visions gear system. Having a single player content that rewarded relevant gear was so so good for catchup and alts. Requiring a month in the timeless korthia of benthic argus mines doing dailies for piecemeal loot is the worst form of gearing I could imagine. Its not timely the rewards aren’t optimized so anyone considering pushing themselves will quickly be batted back down to world quests and worst of all its tedious and boring.

There should be more pipelines for people who want to get into the interesting content, I don’t even understand people who buy boosts sure you get gear but one of the most fun things in wow is doing group content and learning it, what else is there to do with your boosted gear, gold, and no group?

Unfortunately, the forums were absolutely FLOODED with complaints from self-proclaimed casuals that horrific visions were too difficult and were only for “the 1%”.

For weeks.

Korthia maw = world content. Many solo questing but ultimately its group content outside. Right now it gives almost heroic ilvl gear which is nice. Just a bit under, but it was time gated for too long and required rank 6 on top of that.

Torgast is solo but gives no gear except mats for a legendary. It doesn’t even reward the legendary you still have to pay for that via gold.

Covenants gave you decent gear, but it upgraded capped at a low ilvl, thus it stopped progression. If it was upgradable to heroic gear that would have been a nice solo option. But it is capped to lower then raid quality and the bonuses didn’t work in solo raids.

Also torgast is nice solo content… it’s just not rewarding enough. Like if it gave gear I would be happy. It would be like doing mythic plus without getting any gear or vault loot. Would yall still do that all the time?

We can tell he doesn’t want the game to change. Whats funny. Its mosty Raiders that cry for more content faster. But when casual or solo player ask for something to do that wouldnt take a hugh patch with less resources. Thats completely out of the question.

They don’t deserve it.

What a ridiculous assertion; most raiders have their hands full for most, if not all, of each tier.

Wrong most raiders Get AOTC and unsub untill the next patch. Just take a look at Bellular showing just how few raiders there are now.

Which is why pointing to Horrific Visions as a solution for solo players is a joke. They won’t like it. They don’t like Torghast. It’s a waste of time to try to make it an avenue.

Torghast isn’t an avenue for gearing at all though so of course they don’t like it for that purpose. I suspect their complaints there, if any really, are more along the lines of the mog drop rates, but I wouldn’t really know.

Torghast was originally supposed to drop loot (and had placeholder loot items in early alpha). But it was also supposed to have a time limit (basically the horrific visions model). People complained about the time limit, so it was removed, but it took the loot with it.

There were - not joking, here - people complaining that if they wanted to wait 10 minutes between pulls in Torghast to use bloodlust on every pull, then it was their god-given right to do so, and Blizzard had to get rid of the time limit so they could do that.

So they did.

As a solo player I did like these. The only thing I hated about visions was… needing to grind a currency for chances to do it and wasting it if you make a mistake. And that they only did 2 maps. Torgast is nice it had like 6 different dungeons basically. I see torgast as solo dungeons that you can do with a group too and I like it. It needs some improvement. I would have loved to be able to get great vault loot doing torgast, like a mode that gave that depending on difficulty would have been lovely. A way to craft epic gear with the legendary vendor would have been cool. I wanted to craft maw weapons on it. But we never got that opportunity. Runeweapons? That would have been cool.

I would have loved a 5 mask mode where we can get loot. Sadly it was just reduced to timegated mandatory chores you had to do for legendary mats, not the whole legendary just mats and you still had to pay out of pocket for the equipment ( Use wow tokens for lazy ppl here) .

It would be like requiring you to pay gold to access your weekly vault loot and raids/group content no longer dropping gear. Yes torgast is nice but it was managed wrong.

We never got loot in the ptr, this is factually wrong. Wanting to not be timed is a player issue because we are sick of timers! Everything doesn’t need to be timer based.
