Why not give Casuals high lvl gear?

Until your raid gear stops working in any other content this is not a valid arguement.

Everyone in the game has a cap on their progression. Celebrate hitting the top and enjoy roflstomping the same content, try the next level up, or move on to an alt.

How long would you say it should take to max out solo gear?

If it’s a lot faster than now, then

I feel this with PVP gear esp. A lot of people do not even like doing rated pvp and they are just outright forever bared from ever having the best gear. I don’t really agree with it. These devs are holding the players at gunpoint to do certain content but a lot of people just put the guns in their mouths and say “pull it” lol

This is certainly the case at the moment, but the question is why the arbitrary cap at 233? I do understand the feeling of achievement attained from “being better than those without” even if I don’t really agree with it. Given the developers ability to time gate content, anyone serious about gearing up for M+ or raiding is going to choose the fastest route available to them and the artificial stopping point at 233 is just that, artificial; said M+ or raiders are probably on their second or third alt in similar max gear compared to the rep grind route.

I just dont see what was wrong with the badge system we had from Wrath to MoP? What hill for this game to die on.

I did get it like layer 7. It did come up. Sometimes you gotta pick the bad ones (some of the anima powers) so you don’t see them again. It really helps though to have venari exalted for all the bonuses. And a little luck with the final boss. Some of the bosses are very easy to deal with. My venthyr rogue was only 222 ish. It also helps to use the ravenous anima cells on the interceptors for the 10-20 souls buff. I would do more twisting corridors if it was rewarding besides the first time you do it though. I had fun but didn’t get anything for it sadly. When there is other stuff to do in the game that do give you stuff it’s hard to justify using it on twisting corridors once you beaten it though.,

To not completely eclipse most raid gear most likely. Even 233 overrules 2/4 tiers of raid and most end of dungeon m+ loot.

All the stopping points are artificial because that’s what they picked. The alternative is gear that’s infinitely upgradeable and mythic raiders ending up 200 ilevels higher than WQ heroes.

I feel that way with a bunch of solo content. Oh you want the best solo gear? Gotta raid for it. Like
Mage towers was balanced around having raid gear. You want to solo put then they put group content in the way as a step to solo stuff. It is just weird.

It’s less about the current speed than the progression ceiling. As an example, if it takes 20% of a content patch to get to 233, 75% for 246, and 90% for 252 doing world content each week, I would not care even if I had rushed 15+ keys or mythic raiding to get the same in the first 25%.

252 is a bit high, but at the least I would expect someone who only does world content for the last half of a content patch to feel like they go into the next world content zone with an advantage instead of the minimum.

The system isnt flawed if people refuse to do the content

Its ignorant to expect a game company to cater to you when you dont play the game t he way its designed too.

Because they didnt do the content. Are you really that daft?

there is plenty of ways to get Loot atm to get gear without even doing the raid on any difficulty. i mean you hit lvl 60, you can buy ilvl 200 gear from the AH, or in Koritha, and if its a alt you can buy M+ BoA tokens, BoA Koritha gear, that you can send over. as fast as it is to get Renown now, WQs will reward ilvl 200+. you can get Blue pvp gear that granted starts <200 but can be upgraded. doing your Cov quests rewards decent gear you can upgrade to what is it 197?. doing M0 dungeons rewards 210 gear that you can upgrade. THEN as you progress most of that gear^ to 233 /246 as you do more Korthia / M+. you can get to 250 ilvl and never even step into the a raid.

AND on top of it right now during the anny there is 4 Worlds bosses you can kill daily to get 220 gear.

The game is what it is, but nothing is set in stone. They are not creating a game to realize a particular individual’s vision beyond maybe the base Warcraft lore.

From a business perspective, Blizzard has only one real goal: player retention. By proxy this generally means making it enjoyable for all players to the best of their ability. So, no I don’t really think offering feedback about how a playerbase perceives a system is ignorant or entitled. My takeaway from our discussion is that you feel offended, but I can’t reconcile that with the extensive time sink that would be required to offer continuous solo progression through the end of a content patch.

Doubt it.!

Well said!

People are different, not everyone likes insulated content over and over. We need a more ways to gear and progress. This isn’t this the 20th century. The game needs to evolve.

There are so many ways to gear and progress in the game, now, that people are complaining about it - that’s what all the “too many systems” complaining is about. Why were the “systems” added in the first place? Because people wanted more ways to work on their characters besides just gearing. (There are also more ways to gear than ever before
)

Its stale and unfulfilling to just grind rep and upgeared after. This is so 1990s. The “too many systems” was the 1% qq over minmaxing. No one is asking for more systems. Just gearing.

It’s every single day, on this forum, from self-proclaimed casual players who don’t go anywhere near difficult content.

That makes sense for PvP because PvP gear this expansion is purely deterministic. Raid/M+ gear is non-deterministic.

The idea for the 9.1 PvP gear change is a combination of an overcorrection for how bad raid/M+ gearing was at launch in 9.0, and wanting to lower the gap between people who only do 1 form of content and people who do all 3 forms of end game gear content.

PvP gear is good best for PvP since PvE gear doesn’t reliably have versatility on it, there is only 1 way to get 259 items from PvE. And even if you kill M KT or Sylvanas, you are not guaranteed an item.
