Friends on the other side necro’d this thread
Oh you’re right!
Well kind of. Vodou yes, but there’s also Voodoo? Which is how I’ve seen west African practitioners spell it.
Either way my point still stands.
Edit: This is from four years ago how did you even find this??
For whatever reason trolls say a lot of things but everything they say or do it’s just “something else they don’t understand”. That’s Troll lore as I find it and I disliked it. Especially as a druid.
Spell checking a 4 year old post…
Never change GD, never change…
Oh snap! This thread is more dead than slyvanas.
We can’t even agree on how it’s spelled (born and raised in Louisiana).
Troll motto: “Stay away from the Voodoo mon, so we can keep it all for ourselves”!
Damn. They got me! I didn’t check the Sell By date.
I got friendssssss on the otha ssssiiiiiiiiiide!
Also kindly leave the skeleton raising to the professionals.
Is this an undead joke?
To be fair, the forum software is awful.
These old threads should have been locked years ago.
No, it’s me telling folks to stop stealing my Death scythe!
You have a Gundam?!
*Jealous. *
Remember when Chain Heal
was green?
As a scholar of religious studies, I value proper spelling and accurate information.
No they aren’t. Cause the Voodoo that trolls are based on, or even that guy Tosh I think from Starcraft II comes from Haitian origins and those were called voodoo PRIESTS.
Agreed. In my mind, shamans should be exactly like the Diablo 3 Witch Doctor, with all the spiritual, bats, frogs, poison, etc.
Insteade we got
Oh, and…
I think that is a oversimplification of the practice. Haitian Vodou is a syncretic religion that originated in Haiti, blending West African traditions, particularly from the Yoruba, Fon, and Ewe peoples, with elements of Catholicism and other influences. It is also a closed practice that requires in initiation.
You are correct. A priest is a Oungan or Houngan. A priestess would be a Mambo. A sorcerer would be a Bòkò. This is what wow Voodoo magic is loosely based on.
