RP server, like argent dawn is a “pve server”… but back in the day, we had alot of world pvp events, where alliance and horde clashed, the most common, was the hillsbrad/mill battles… the people that want to take part just flag them self…
It should not require an “event”. You shouldn’t wait to be in the mood for fighting, only when you wish to “take part”.
A wise man once wrote: " What has mood to do with it? You fight when the necessity arises—no matter the mood! Mood’s a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It’s not for fighting."
Optional PVP is asinine.
There you go you answered it yourself. There are enough people to fill 1 RPPvP server.
Sorry, what do you mean flag themself? Or I guess, how does one flag ones self?
yes that true, but roleplay also dictates you can interact with people… roleplay that lacks any type of essentially meaning full interaction, except killing each other, isnt roleplay…
wich means the the roleplay leading up to a battle, and or the play around it, actually creates alot where these type of events is actually staged or predetermined…
but yes, from a pure pvp perspctive its not great, but then again, you want to roleplay right ?, as i said ganking people is very one sided roleplay…
It’s gonna be named lion’s pride inn.
I want to Roleplay on a PvP server. I want like minded individuals to be able to know where to go. RP-PvP offers that without it everyone who would roll on a RP-PvP server has no idea where to go unless they coordinate outside of the game.
Ah, so from your perspective, any PVP that is not staged is simple ganking.
Y’know, Pru, I’ve been noticing that you’re seeming really confrontational and tense in any thread that people don’t automatically agree with you. You sure you don’t want to head on down to Goldshire on Moon Guard? They’ll help get you work out that tension, thrusting deep to the heart of the problem as often as it takes to release your stress.
Etiquette and thus behavior is much different. I don’t RP but I love being on the server. And I loved MG until all the Horde left and when not on ED.
It’s sad that Moon Guard’s Goldshire gives the entire realm a bad name. RP on MG is pretty amazing, and you can ignore Goldshire and it’s … excesses … without much problem. The only other server that approaches it is WrA, in my humble opinion.
I can see Classic being a rebirth of RP, all the people who gave up in disgust over the years, being welcomed back. I think there’ll be far more RP than people think.
Perhaps that will be the case. But, trying to plan for how many RPers may maybe possibly return to the game, and what fraction of those would be interested in a RP-PVP realm is poor business practice unless there is enough of an established interest in it to make an RP-PvP server worth the money, as opposed to another RP-PvE, PvP, or PvE server.
I don’t get why are they doing RP-PVE server and not RP-PVP server.
RP just means naming policy convention, that’s it. There isn’t a whole lot of difference. That’s the only rule difference between regular and RP, why is that so hard for Blizzard to do? Not like they have to do anything. It’s PVP, no need to enforce “niceness”, it’s war.
Probably because they’ve run the numbers, and found that substantially more people roll on RP-PvE servers than RP-PvP servers, and both of those put together are still far, far fewer than the numbers that roll on a regular PvE or PvP server. Yes, there’s people who are interested in RP-PvP. There’s also people who like haggis-flavored ice cream. The question isn’t whether anyone wants it, it is whether there are enough people who want it to make the expense worth it.
What is this based on? The naming rules were heavily enforced and I remember it being a huge deal if someone started talking ooc in trade. They always got reported and silenced.
…haggis … flavored … runs for the bathroom
Honestly, I just find it hard to believe that Classic will be the PVP mecca that people seem to think.
I mean, it’s an “mmoRPg” after all, not an “mmoPVPg”.
Have people and gaming habits been that changed by first person shooters? Which is essentially what BfA is now…
Stop crying
snifs Ok.
