Why no RPPVP?!

If you think so, thats up to you, im just pointing to the fact, that if you cant talk to the other side, its very one sided, espchially ganking

RP-PvP would be nice. Because big guilds/streamers won’t go in just because it’s write “RP”.
Then i could freely choose a server without those types of players without having to RP.

…and Crossroads

Imagine multi-billion dollar corporation ActivisionBlizzard refusing to spend money on a few extra realms.

I think I heard an argument against that somewhere…

I’m from EU. We used to have 4 English RP-PvP realms and I had a blast playing on one of them (Defias Brotherhood, the most popular of RP-PvP realms in EU) in BC/WoTLK, but even then 3 of them had very low population and were completely dead by the time Cataclysm was released.

Today they are all merged into 1 realm that has rather low population and there is almost 0 RP happening. RP there died sometime during WoTLK, Defias Brotherhood remained as the only PvP realm with balanced horde/alliance ratio in region, other were used as dead realms for farm rare pets and mounts (TLPD, Aeonaxx).

As much as I like idea of RP-PvP realm, practice shows that they won’t be as popular as RP-PvE realms and are very likely to become ghost realms.

Personaly id like to see a RP realm picked, and add medium like discord, to coordinate cross faction roleplay and battles, we all want roleplay, and i dont mind meaningfull pvp…

if i were ten years younger i probably wouldent mind the constant pvp threat, and ganking, but this time i also have a real life to tend to lol, so i want both sides and all the pie, if that makes me a carebear, then so be it…

I also know there is some great roleplayers that want pvp, so how can we solve this, as Wipsy points to above, i doubt we can sustain a single rp-pvp realm long term, but hey what do i know ?

Retail completely destroyed what appeals tp RP-PvPers since Burning Crusade : Wild PvP, community feelings, a living world, etc. That argument doesn’t make sense.

Also, there are far more people willing to play on RP-PvP than RP-PvE servers according to the largest poll available before they announced there wouldn’t be any RP-PvP server at launch.

LOL! Yeah, I’m going to have to stop you right there.

I fully support RP-PvP server though.

I have known at least 4 RP-PvP guilds that disbanded during LK-Cata because there was no interrest anymore in Wild PvP, mainly because of flying mounts and dungeon finder. You have to ask yourself : why would RP-PvP realms lose population faster than other realms ? Because the playerbase focus on content that was removed over time : Wild PvP.

Personally, I’ll never go near another PvE realm again. I vastly prefer auto-flagging of the PvP server. It just makes everything more real, more invested. To each, their own. But you can already see the divide. If there isn’t a RP-PvP realm at launch, the people like myself, will more than likely, lay in the bed we made.

Ignoring the polls and the threads across various websites is a wonderful way to gauge interest. There was established interest in them during vanilla, despite them dropping the ball and releasing them way too late in the game. When people did not want to leave established guilds and characters that they had spent months on. Despite that, multiple RPPVP realms existed and were some of the healthiest realms.

One. ONE realm to start with. They have how many dead BFA realms and they are suddenly pinching pennies when it comes to a single solitary classic server. It is really hard to take Ion’s “lean” comment seriously when they leave so many BFA servers (which would be the same cost per server as a classic RPPVP one) lay there rotting.

Because they currently think it’s too much of a niche and they’re not sure you could have a satisfactory rp-pvp experience.

If the demans is high, they will add it.

Should RP realms even HAVE public channels lol? How are your characters hearing it? Maybe you should have to say “Looking for a priest for Stratholme” aloud in the middle of IF?

Without any direct experience or knowledge, I already know there were some people that behaved that way, lol…

People keep posting this, and yet fail utterly to explain how that demand would be expressed and gauged.

They thought that vanilla classic was too niche to bother with for how long? You know how they could “be sure” whether or not we would have a “satisfactory rp-pvp experience”? OPENING ONE SINGLE SERVER FOR IT.

NA isn’t the only region WoW’s available in. They’d need an RP-PvP realm for each region, thus “a few extra realms.”

And we’ve been asking for a single one to show that there is interest.

I’m aware.

That is why I specifically added “to start with”.

Actually this isn’t fully true, Asia, and Latin American Brazil OCE don’t RP Only the US realms and EU have RP servers.

“Don’t RP” and “don’t have RP realms” are different things.

Is there anything to suggest there isn’t actually a demand for those kinds of servers in those regions?
