Oh my so we are getting Vulpera… so many are going to be sooooo happy for this as they fell in love with them since… um, since they first saw the furry little foxes!
Was Alita: Battle Angel considered popular? I’m not so sure about this…
It’s one of those movies where the Critic Score in Rotten Tomatoes is 60% but the Audience Score is 94%.

It destroyed Captain Marvel out of the water… I dunno about it not being popular.
Pymgies aren’t goblins however and they aren’t actively connected to goblins in present lore. You wouldn’t see these guys as an allied race for similar reasons to Vulpera. However. An allied race that does fit the criteria in most ways is Gilgoblins.
- We will be helping them when we get to Nazjatar.
- They look much closer to regular goblins.
- They were created by Hobart Grapplehammer who is horde aligned and had explained in an earlier part of the war campaign that he is working on a formula for producing superintelligent Gilblins.
- Gilgoblin female models and icons have been discovered along with an HD preview of a Gilgoblin from Nazjatar.
- Gilgoblin males more animations than Vulpera males do. And if hey do, it is reasonable to assume that the female Gilgoblin models do too. When Nazjatar hits, they will be ahead of Vulpera in animation count.
- Goblin model updates are planned. Historically when player models get updates, so do npc models. Happened with blood elf, orc and gnomes.
Maybe the Vulpera are Pygmies that were blessed by a Fox Loa with survival skills
There is an actual sea loa in Nazjatar called Gal. Perhaps this guy could teach Gilgoblins druidism.
Huh, that’s pretty cool.
Alita was one of those films where I knew it was going to get a lot of critical flack but… if I’m being perfectly honest, I actually really liked it.
HA!! I can totally see a Mechagnomes quest or NPC clone of Alita or making a reference to it in some funny way!
Sorry, but there’s more evidence Vulpera are the allied race. I didn’t see one gilblin in Rastakhan’s funeral nor do I remember grinding reputation for them.

There is also an added Gilgoblin male and female racial icon.

Until recently we’ve been exposed primarily to the locations were Vulpera reside(which is primarily one zone mind you). Nazajtar is coming out and there will be more exposure of Gilgoblins. Mind you. They are confirmed to be new allies of the horde in Nazjatar in an organization called the unshackled.
I meant Brewfest beer icons, not icons as a whole lol
Well I for one am that happy players are getting their ask allied race… I’m sure as it becomes relevant Blizz team will add more and more in time…
Also I think (IMO) its a good reward for does GOD AWFUL rep grinds…
Lots of people have been asking for Gilgoblins too. More of them will come out and mind you. Lore and relevance>Popularity. If blizzard really did cave to popularity at every hint, we wouldn’t have goblins and gnomes or pandas and dwarfs even to begin with.
Yeah… Worldwide sales of $403 Million for Alita and $1 Billion for Captain Marval. You’re absolutely right.
Money numbers mean nothing when there’s no links proving them and the costs that also reduce those numbers to even make the movie.
Plus…nobody sane likes Brie Larson nor thought that movie was even good.
I wonder if those numbers would be like that if Alita had the marketing of Captain Marvel and the Avengers Franchise brand behind her.
It’s like a regular guy boxing with Mike Tyson. Even if Alita technically “lost”, the very fact that it managed to compete makes it a winner.
Sure… Sure… I guess your MRA. That means I am done with you. Good luck with your life.
Who knows indeed. Personally, I thought the CGI was crappy in the trailers. I can’t say why Fox (before being purchased by Disney) didn’t promote it better or whether that would have helped.
However it made less than $100 Million domestically on a $170 Million budget (not counting marketing). That means it didn’t return investment. It didn’t have the James Cameron polish even though his name was on it.
Nice edit, but you still called me an MRA.
Meaning all you did was tell me you’re the kind of person the majority of society these days are avoiding like the plague.
I can tell you, certain people ARE infamous for what they’ve done. Not because of who they happen to be.

However it made less than $100 Million domestically on a $150 Million budget (not counting marketing). That means it didn’t return investment.
I will be honest: I liked Alita a lot better than Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel wasn’t bad, but it was meh. Yet another Standard Marvel Origin Story. If Alita didn’t sell enough, that’s just sad because we probably won’t see a sequel.
It should be noted though that you buy the ticket first then you watch the movie. So a Movie selling well or badly is more of a Marketing issue than a Movie Quality issue. Of course, movie quality can and should be used as marketing.
But anyway, we were talking about dem cute little Mechagnomes

A lot is based on reviews and word of mouth though. There are very few movies that I’ll see opening weekend. Even Marvel Movies.
Good luck on the Mechagnomes.
