Why LGBT Representation matters

Convoluded? I wouldn’t say that much. It is an example where characters have their beginnings. They aren’t a couple to start and veteran players can feel a means of growth with the world around them. Asric and Jadaar went from lowly members of the Scryers / Aldor to unexpected adventurer companions.

Don’t look too deep to where we need years to pass for development. But make the interactions and relationship more believable. I propose these two because the nuance they have is solid ground for a good example of LGBT couples if Blizzard wanted to take that route. It’s not grating, nor glaring, nor anything that would be written off at first notice…

Granted the people are at least aware of these two.

You want nuance with representation? And expect that quality for each lgbt person? Really? It doesn’t have to be like that tbh, sure it’s good for main characters but for every lgbt npc? I don’t get why people want that much work when they don’t do it for the straight relationships. Sure some interesting npc stories but all? That’s asking too much, Shaw is good they worked to it, but having some pronouns changed during questing and some voice acting is good too, to show hey it’s normal, it doesn’t have to be like a whole quest dating series.

Maybe if I’m watching a netflix show it’s a different story. Like that new show that came out someone has to die, it was sad but dramatic. But to expect that from ingame stuff? Idk.

I’ll be honest the LGBT has nothing to do with the game. Stop forcing stuff that was never there.

Relationships are barely touched on in WoW. idk what people are expecting. They put 1 character in that loosely touches on gender. Jaina and Kalegos have had like zero in game time. Tyranande and Malf got touched on a little bit this xpac. Turayln is more of a political marriage at this point and im pretty sure they are going to become enemies at some point.

This is 14 years worth or lore mind you. I would not expect much even if they did implement a LBQG marriage

A couple points.

  1. No one is “forcing” anything. We have no power to compel Blizzard; Blizzard’s developers have decided it is worthwhile to include LGBT characters.
  2. The game features romance, relationships, and characters from all walks of life – it only makes sense that some of these characters may not be cisgender or heterosexual.
  3. WoW has never been afraid to make the game comment on real world topics, whether it be satire, humor, or actual commentary. The story has themes for a reason, even if the story is also often convoluted and nonsensical.

If your not forcing then why are you going on about this it make no since then.

Does discussing a topic == forcing writers to do something, to you?

What sorry I don’t understand what you just said.

I mean we already have lgbt characters so it does have some things to do with the game… I know you dislike it because it bothers you lol

Why would it bother me? LMAO I just don’t want stuff put in that wouldn’t have been put in when people cry about something that ruins a lot of stuff.

Idk… it seems you find it annoying. And annoyance is the first stage of anger. You may have to ask yourself that.

Why would I be annoyed. Please explain to me.

If anything you are the one annoyed. I’m having a great time.

Perhaps the way you made your comment I sense anger.

Seems like it annoys you at least to post something like that in a thread about LGBT representation. Using words like “forcing” is pretty aggressive sounding.

That is just a statement.

Ok saying LGBT representation matters… Is pretty aggressive sounding to me so your saying they are angry?

Then why even bring it up?

It doesnt actually matter, you wanna add them? sure, just dont make a big deal out of it.

A character should be more than just its se*ual orientation, or skin color, or gender.

Thats why people hated Captain Marvel, cause the big selling point was that she was a female character, a Mary Sue no less, and the actual character is incredibly plain and boring.

Representation is fine, but not let it damage the quality of the writing nor create characters that are all about that.
