Why LGBT Representation matters

Does it really matter, though? I can feel fine knowing that there aren’t any major characters in a movie that are gay. You can’t get away with shaming any member of the LGBT community these days, and it’s generally accepted as a normal thing now-- so I don’t personally see the issue. Unless I’m somehow just missing something?

I think diversity in media would be nice simply for the variety. It need not be motivated by necessity.

And while its good that you dont feel the need to be represented some people really enjoy it.

Sure am glad resources are focused on validating human sexuality rather than fun and engaging content. This is good for the life and enjoyment of the game.

I feel like LGBT has over representation in these forums FFS

How many threads do we need about this junk

Can’t they make your own sub forum already

If you look at percentages, I don’t think there’s any shortage of representation in popular media. Think there’s currently over-representation due to pandering, to be honest

I don’t care what you say. Pineapple on pizza is still an abomination and you should feel bad if you like it.

Except they don’t? If anyone makes a big deal of it is the community/new organization. But then again most of the community make a big deal if anything and everything.

Pineapple pizza is fine, here in my country it is just as normally as pepperoni or all meat pizzas.

Name 2 main gay characters in popular media.

I don’t agree that wanting to be represented equates to throwing things in people’s faces.

Yeah first thing i think about when playing a game is what sex orientation are the toons in the game. Not my stats and game mechanics

That’s unusual.

Thank you for the advice.

It was fun to read also. Farewell.

Funny that, “the percentages” completely contradict you. But I expect you won’t let a little thing like being wrong stop you.

Not to mention that when lgbt people are represented, they are through stupid and outdated stereotypes from the 80s or 90s.

While the person you’re replying to is a clown, I can answer this: Adora and Catra.

NINJA EDIT - Also Luz Noceda.

while i agree wholeheartedly that representation is good its foolish to think that in most cases, especcially in a game like wow that it is done with legitimate honest intentions. Lets face it, the LGBT representation was a marketing stunt that is deliberately set up so they can remove it in other countries

we not a hive mind. some of us dont want us to be tokenized. just accepted as normal.

LGBT individual here. This is BS. It’s constantly forced down the throats of everyone, and anyone who speaks out against it, is labeled an x-phobe, and crucified by virtual signaling obsessed individuals.

Sure, keep it proportional to the population. Don’t offend anyone. But by doing something you offend someone. Or maybe just keep romance out of Warcraft and don’t ruin the game in someone’s eyes, be it for or against this.

Like it or not if someone is put off by a decision like this their point of view is valid.

I am not LGBT but I would assume anyone that is would be offended by a either misrepresentation or being a token.

I for one would like to see blizzard just focus on story.
