And yet people get sooo upset when it happens. And that’s the issue. Even if it’s just a vocal minority the fact that people get so bent and twisted over something trivial is what gets so annoying.

I really paid no attention to quest text while going through SL I just wanted to get to 60 when going through the zones, I watched the cutscenes and they were pretty meh. I hated Maldraxxas the zone felt to spread out.
That’s true but the important part is he had a personality and he was a likeable character. You can say a bunch of things about him other than just “He was gay”
Random side characters or new characters being gay or whatever doesn’t matter what matters is do they have a personality outside of what they identify as, and the problem that companies run into with this is they make characters that tick boxes but have no personality.
Using Pelagos as an example. Does he have a personality? Yes he does. Are you forced to know what they are? No, so it’s not forced down your throat. I think they did him correctly.
I don’t want crap to just tick boxes, and that’s what you get when people pressure for this type of crap.
not really, swtor added lbg options for relationships with companions, and it was fine cause no one cared - just like no one cares about relationships in wow and it’s the same dozen people arguing day after day in these threads.
Yeah, there was one asking for a tabard, and when I asked if I could have a straight tabard, I was met with hypocrisy, or the new standard “everything that came before this moment is…” arguement.
There was a thread about an LGBT covenant, and when I pointed out that isn’t equality, I was told there is most definitely a straight covenant. I’m not sure which one that is. It seems weird that one can somehow be straight, but there isn’t one that would obviously take the LGBT crowd (hint, it has the game’s only trans NPC).

I just don’t understand what people want. Having a NPC advertise their preference every time you talk to them seems ridiculous, and it feels like that’s what people are asking for.
There are LGBT characters in the game already. They just don’t advertise it constantly. One example is the relationship between Shaw and Flynn. I think those are the biggest names. You worked with both of them a lot during BFA, so i would consider them major characters.
Night Fae even has a gay couple there, both spirit animals. A Unicorn and an Elk.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t play a game like this to care about anyone’s relationships.
I’m here to be a magic sword wearing fantasy character that defeats evil, not to get misty eyed over the quirky love story between NPCs.

I agree, but I do think representation is important, and the representation is already in the game.
I just explained how it does matter.
I have an illusion in these years thinking it is pretty rare we could get a straight, beautiful/handsome woman/man as a main character of a console or something…
So all the LGBTQ people wanna be included and stuff, they want their own cov? Straight shame much?
