If you played other games than WoW you would see that specifically adding these things to just tick boxes does destroy the game.
Look at Last of Us Part2 and Mass Effect Andromeda.

I had absolutely no qualms with ME:A other than the lack of proper development for the RPG aspects of the game. Everything else was very well off, in my very honest opinion, especially and including character-to-NPC interaction (discounting the lack of visual expression in most characters.)
They focused on that stuff which is what killed the games. They never actually thought “Is this fun” because they didn’t care they were pushing their political beliefs and made the games unfun.
Forcing this crap into the games doesn’t make a game fun it just makes people upset about stuff being stuffed down their throat.

Maybe the I production of a new main character that helps us out. You meet him at the tavern, and he doesn’t check out the “voluptuous” bar maiden, but later he sees a soldier walk by and gives him a second look. All of this would be a voice acted cutscene. Maybe have the soldier die later, and have the new guy be at his side as he passes in the battlefield.
If the writers could think of organic situations like that, things would be easier. It isn’t aggressive, while still getting the point across. After playing D3 for the first time, and calling every “twist” those writers came up with, I have very little confidence in what passes for good writing over there.
Downside is people are still gunna call that forced or pandering

I don’t mind if a game has gay characters in it.
People made a huge deal about Pelagos or however his name is spelt. I personally don’t give a damn. Why don’t I care that he’s trans? Because it wasn’t shoved down my throat I had to go through additional dialog to find out.
When people push for this type of crap they want it forced down people’s throat they don’t want subtly they want it to basically be “I’M GAY AND GODLY!”
How’s that Show Batwoman doing? Is that the kinda show you were talking about? Wanna know why there are no movies with those types of characters? Because it doesn’t bring in the money, wanna know why that is? Because no one cares or wants to see it.
If they did, then most the woke/LGBT crap would blow up, but it doesn’t instead it all flops and fails. Since you people want it so bad and there are OH SO MANY of you, then why have these shows/movies/games not blown up in any good way?
Keep pretending to be a tolerant group of people all you want, you are no better than anyone else. Time you all realize it.

Do you get annoyed at games where the main character has story based on being in a straight relationship, or just when it’s anything but straight?
They just move the red line. Once you get to said red line, they just move it. Its never enough because being a victim is a full time job and one that last forever. Better luck changing a wall’s mind than these people.

I get annoyed with crap being forced down your throat. Straight or gay it doesn’t matter.
You know what game had a gay character that was great? Dragon Quest 11, Sylvando was gay but he had a personality outside of just “I’m gay”. Games that add characters that just tick boxes don’t have a personality.

I dunno it really depends on how it’s done, like if a random side character happens to be gay it won’t change the story much but it does just check a box as well, it’s a weird thing
