Why LGBT representation in games matters:

This 100%

I would rather enjoy a piece of media that have interesting characters that happen to be gay over characters whos only defining trait is being gay.

If the character(s) are very very minor (like background characters) then I don’t mind if their key defining trait is being gay, but if it is a main character, or a main supporting character, that should not be their defining trait.

We already got some In Ardenweald.

Like I’ve said if there is no meaningful reason like a quest chain main or side for them to put lgbt characters then they shouldn’t because if they do it just to appease people more then likely they will end up just putting in a stereotype .

Also Blizz is not going to do anything based off threads in GD on the subject and if people truly want stuff added to represent them a better place might be Twitter with @warcraftdevs

Ranker! Welcome back man! You feeling better? I know you said you were done with this thread but I am glad to see you are alright.
Say catch that new Dennis Prager video?!

It’s funny watching them post that they’re done with this thread and then they come back for more in less than 24 hours. They can’t not be homophobic for less than a day. All they can do is push conspiracy theories and troll LGBT representation threads. :woman_shrugging: :woman_facepalming:

While I am part of the “we” as in… I’m part of the LGBT community by being gay :rainbow::rainbow_flag:. But please speak for yourself in this subject. I (any many more of my friends that play this game and are part of the LGBT community) don’t “need” more lgbt representation in this game. To be honest I don’t really think about sexual orientation when I play this game at all. I play this game to get away from reality. You know, the same reality that you keep trying to pull into the game that many of us use as an escape. They can add lgbt to this game all they want. Would it make me thrilled to see a lgbt relationship? Not really… Would it make me happy to see? Not really… Would it make me mad? No… I could honestly careless. It’s just that y’all are getting so worked up over FICTIONAL characters that are written by humans… They aren’t real… Their relationship isn’t real… Their life isn’t real…

If anything Blizzard needs to make it so that AOE abilities doesn’t kill little critters in the game. The other day I was questing and I used an aoe ability on a bear and accidentally killed 3 baby cubs that were just running around. You want to talk about feeling human emotions from a game… I felt like crap afterwards… (Yes I know they’re not real) but still. Just the concept I accidentally killed cubs. :joy: This is a problem that needs to be addressed asap. :joy::joy:

OMG I get this!

My husband just rolls his eyes as we have to have a mini funeral /cry when I’ve accidentally slaughtered a baby critter.

Except spiders.

I do that on purpose :joy:

I’ll bet if I went back through the thread and counted the number of times you’ve used this word it would be a pretty significant number.

I don’t think it means what you think it means.

Did you seriously just ask me who wants a LBTQESTUV character immediately before stating that you want one?

Please go bring me the head of the enemy leader! 10g reward. By the way, I’m a homosexual!

They don’t choose to be or not be straight, they only choose if they do or do not act straight.

I call it out like it is :woman_shrugging:

I think you’re confused. Can you clarify what this means?

Very, very few. Clearly. Most don’t care either way. Romance of any kind isn’t why they play the game, which is why a lot of people generally get annoyed when people like you push for it. The ‘inclusivity for the sake of inclusivity’ crowd basically ruin everything they touch.

suggesting you aren’t homophobic because you ‘know’ a couple gay people is super cringey

but thinking you can speak for others is utter balderdash

More on the lines of . Hero so and so has been captured please go save them .

Then as you do the quests like save the one you turned the quest into the person you rescued who in turn gives you a guest and as the chain goes along you learn about the 2 characters. You know something where they develop the characters and their roles in the expansion make sense . Like the Elk and the Unicorn do in Ardnweald.

The stag and unicorn couple, umm… I gotta say, Blizz’s portrayal left something to be desired. It’s like they went out of their way to say “this one is the wife” and “this one is the husband” despite the fact that it’s a gay couple? Lol. I don’t trust the performatively woke devs in this.

Hm, I don’t know. I didn’t decide to dislike celery or decide to like the colour red. I didn’t decide to be attracted to men either. Personality just sort of happens. I’m so sick of hearing sexuality is a choice. I’m assuming straight people don’t decide to like the opposite sex either. It just sort of happens.

It’s the gobbledygook used to define and then redefine and then redefine whatever collection of atypical people you decide to house under your banner.

You are just INSUFFERABLE.

I am an openly gay man.

I am also strong and independent.

I don’t need you or any other alphabet soup representative speaking for me, laying down lists of demands for me, or finger wagging other people on my behalf under the soft fascism of “inclusiveness” and “diversity” which really is just code for ‘less straight white people.’

I won’t ever be reading anymore of your posts.

All this crap does is make racism/bigotry ‘OK’ from you and yours as long as you pretend like you’re a victim of the people you hate.
