Why LGBT representation in games matters:

Yeah, I’ve never understood this either. Just because I’ll fool around with dudes sometimes doesn’t mean I need characters to be openly bi, nor do I even consider social issues when I’m playing.

To be honest I don’t see much coming from these threads in the forums because it is mostly us going against eachother.

Maybe if you are all serious about the content being added possibly posting your requests at

https://twitter.com/WarcraftDevs

might be a better avenue to take .

Honestly this is a fantastic idea, I’ll just have to make a twitter account and contact them.

It’s sad that it can’t just be discussed on these forums, as we can clearly see a lot of players here seem to be oddly against this proposition… for SOME reason… :face_with_monocle:

And every single journo is leaving this fact aside just to boost TLOU2, hell i constantly see articles about that disgrace of a game, they are so desperate to boost its reputation and sales.

So why point out-

?

I meant from the “get woke go broke” crowd.

It’s hilarious to read. It’s like those sock puppet accounts on reddit “As a black man” but then their post history shows they’re not even black

No one is asking for the game to mirror real life. What OP is asking for is representation of the LGBT community. It’s only fair with all the straight representation in the game. It’s 2021, inclusivity and representation is very important.

If you’ve noticed, Shadowlands introduced minority representation into the game with the customization options for all races. Don’t compare religions to LGBT. That’s a silly comparison. Religion is something chose and can freely change, being gay isn’t. That argument is getting old.

You ignored what he was saying, and why. There, I fed the troll. Nom Nom Nom

Not all of us are homophobic but we do realize too many of these threads at one time is not helping your cause because at least half are from trolls trying to create dissent .

Another thing like I’ve said in the last few posts if it makes sense and they present the characters in a meaningful way the yes add them but if they just add characters because people want to represented then be prepared for that representation to be a stereotype.

That’s not true. You want a character to exist solely to push your desire of representation. Which means that any character made to assuage that desire is there primarily to be gay. Whether it’s the crux of their story or a footnote.

Who cares if the character is LGBT? Blizzard is the one making the decisions, not us. We simply just want more LGBT characters in the game, similar to Qadarin and Thiernax. Can we not have that? Is that too much for you? You’d have to be incredibly homophobic to be against something as simple as this.

Who cares if the character is LGBT? Then you say, we simply want more LGBT characters in game.

So you care! And only care to push an agenda, Like we said, Glad you could clear that up yet again for us.

No it does not matter. We are playing fantasy games. Maybe in that universe nobody is gay? Maybe the found out what makes people of the same sex feel like they are trapped in the wrong body and cured it? You never know. Politics of any sort should NEVER be in games period! If that is the case Why having Heterosexuals in games matters you can twist it any way you want, but in the end NONE of it belongs in games. No Political agendas Blizzard stay away from it except politics that have to do with the story your telling about the game.

Yes the election where the Dems almost lost the House just wait for the 2022 mid terms more of the Woke is going to just prove his point.

If you just want it in to be recognized just because and with out any substance or reason then expect that representation to be a stereotype.

At this point even Noam Chomsky acknowledges cancel culture and the wokeness and he’s always been way over on the left. Just the reaction when he signed the Harper’s letter was enough to convince him. People that pretend it isn’t an issue or doesn’t exist are either actively playing a part or just not very aware.

It’s only fair?

Can you point out the dozens of, “We demand straight representation, straight mounts, straight covenants, straight map zones and straight tabards/mogs!” like there are, “LGBT+ needs x, y, and z.” threads?

Besides what would this all actually ADD to the game? How would knowing a characters sexuality or gender, improve the game? You thought that the negative out-lash at the store mog was bad? Wait till you have people dressed up in whatever stereotypical garb that Blizzard would create for LGBT+ people to tmog into, to feel represented. Wait for there to be LGBT+ specific content, and the waves on waves of trolls, bigots, griefers and alike to just flood those areas and make them a cesspool of toxicity.

Wait for the in-game group finder to have groups who advertise, “No LGBT.” I mean they already do it for predominately non-english speaking realms like Ragnaros.

You think that, GD and Trade Chat are bad, ohh boy, you have no idea.

Wait till concerned parents, grand parents, legal guardians and alike. Send in tickets, come to the forums, and alike to voice their feelings and pose questions like, “Why is my child being made to play a long with these flamboyantly gay characters.”, “Why is my child being told what the difference between a top and a bottom are.”, “I’m closing my childs account because we’re a conservative faith based family.” ect.

I’m all for representation, but, here’s the thing, it’s going to cause fathoms more problems then it solves, it’s going to push people away from the game, not because they’re bigots or homophobic, but because they play the game to fight the alliance or the fight the horde, save azeroth, preserve balance ect.

Certainly not to chase down rainbow colored sheep to have the Quest npc turn their wool into a Rainbow cloak or some crap.

Good grief.

Y’all really just saying anything now, huh?

Obviously you people care otherwise there wouldnt have been any threads on it.

Who cares if the character isnt part of the alphabet people? Blizzard is the one making the decisions, not us. We simply just want more well, thought out characters that aren’t being put in simply to appease a certain group.
