Why LGBT representation in games matters:

You’re one of the primary contributors to the garbage fire. Don’t try to play innocent.

The only reason I’m still following this one is morbid curiosity at how long it will keep burning.

Oh my gosh I love this LOL. Please post some more!

I’m not sorry you don’t like my opinions. This is a forum for discussion and I’m not doing anything wrong.

I like how they blame you for this but I am actually doing that lol

I said ONE of the contributors. There are a bunch.

And if people decide to disagree with your opinions, they’re not doing anything wrong either.

You best be giving me that credit!

I’m fine with it as long as it doesn’t feel forced like the girl power scene from avengers endgame.

It’s important that the stories are regular stories that happen to have lgtbq characters. Rule of thumb, if a story remains the same despite a character’s sexual orientation then you did a good job.

No one likes pandering just to fit some lefty quota.

What I would give you credit for is probably not something you would really want if you actually realized what it was. but hey, you do you.

Fire, keep on burning…

It must suck to hate roughly half of the world’s population, I pity you.

It is not up to game developers to help the community become more open minded, that is up to their parents and society at large IRL. Besides, if being open minded means being a bigot like you, mine can stay closed

A. there wasn’t an outright ban, the military simply wasn’t going to pay for transition surgery, or accommodate someone while they transition. They’re the military, they have a specific purpose, which is to fight the enemies of the US. They don’t have the luxury of basically sidelining military personnel for elective surgery, for prolonged periods of time. They’re not Google or Facebook. B. It’s illegal to discriminate against someone on those grounds, and has been for a long time.

There could be zero relationships in WoW. No romantic relationships of any kind. I’d wager most WoW players aren’t in it for the romance. I’d also wager that the vast majority of straight players wouldn’t feel slighted because there aren’t any fictional collections of pixels romantically involved with one another. If you choose your sexuality as a defining trait of yourself, that’s on you, it shouldn’t be on companies, or anyone else to make you feel good about it. As long as discussions are made to shoehorn in ham-fisted representation, people are going to push back.

No, it’s not important. But, people are tired of hearing about it. Most players don’t give a crap about Aggra and Thrall, Durotan and Draka, Arthas and Jaina, Malfurion and Tryande, Illidan and Tyrande, etc beyond what they’re doing specific to the main storyline. The romantic aspect is fluff, and poorly written fluff at that. The people who give a crap about those particular relationships are the same droolers who constantly ship/stan people. They’re a minority. Most players don’t give a crap about those relationships just as equally as any potential LGBTQ+ relationships that would be shoehorned in for inclusivity’s sake.

Right, they exist. Nobody cares. Most people don’t care about who you sleep with. Shocking, I know.

It’s not a belief. It’s biological design. Without it, human kind wouldn’t exist.

In my own experience with gay/trans people, most of them aren’t out there trying to make a big deal out about being gay/trans. It’s typically young, none identifying people that want to be heroes that try to force a narrative down peoples throats. I’m sure there are exceptions to this, but we’d all have a lot less gay/trans friends around if they insisted that literally everything we do exclusively be designed to accommodate their specific needs. Ain’t nobody got time for needy friends like that.

Maybe I’m lucky and have some fantastic gay/trans friends, but I kinda don’t think it’s just me that sees this.

Exactly well said.

What alot of people on this rock fail to understand is that every species even human has an ingrained biological need to procreate. It’s hard wired into the human system. Without it none of us would be here today.

Exactly. The people that I know that are LBGTQ+ aren’t so boring and one dimensional, that that is the trait that defines them.

Exactly. I’ve known many gay people in my life. I know two gay people currently. None of them give two licks about representation.

They live thier life, do thier thing and bother no one. Pretty swell individuals.

Oh holy cow that entire thing just was gross. I hated it and I hated Captain Marvel or whatever shes called with her insane levels of arrogance. Really kind of knocks women down that they felt they needed to do it like that when the characters were already so powerful and they clearly showed it.

Honestly, the Tiernax little covenant story was kind of in the same boat for me (just like Malf and Tyranduh in Legion where it’s just like a baseball bat to the brain. We get it. You’re super duper in love). Which is part of why it’s annoying to me.

Blizz apparently doesnt understand what tasteful is or how to be subtle with these kinds of things, or it’s very hit or miss at least. They cant focus on “representation” and write it without a sledgehammer, so my vote is to stop mucking it up.

That feminist episode of the flash killed the entire show for me and super girl was a joke. I don’t need to be told “girl power!” Every 5 minutes while watching a TV show.

A- its not sunday and B- as a gay man myself, NO WE DONT NEED OR WANT THIS.

Traits that you are born with do not make you interesting, skin color doesnt make you interesting, your sexuality doesnt make you interesting. i am totally fine with never seeing “LGBTQIPLUSQRXZ” representation in video games, never in my life have i played a video game because i wanted to think about real world issues.

i dont think it matters tbh.

why? because for people like me who don’t care what you orientate as straight or not it doesn’t really bother us. for the community well… they can get picked on which can make it somewhat worse. in terms of representation i can understand it might matter to people who are make them feel more encouraged instead of nay sayers being in their face all the time or belittling them in in reality… it happens regardless of what it is. could be race, height, w.e.

what im tryna say is s3xuality has never been an issue for me. im straight if u like guys and are a guy idc and vice versa. as long you not a pedo and abusive partner then if you 2 is happy why does it matter? what matters to me is how others treat people. if your a prick imma treat you the same way. that is a bigger issue in society/this games community

No one said it is. They just decide to add LGBT Characters, stories, relationships etc… They don’t have an agenda.
