You’ve decided there’s no toxicity, we all get it.
You’ve then decided that since you’ve decided there’s no toxicity, that makes it a fact.
That’s your opinion, and you’ve backed yourself into a very small box with it which is: “Without evidence of x% of the community experiencing hostility, there’s no toxicity!”
Forum search, bro. Do a poll. This isn’t even a discussion or argument anymore, this is just metadiscourse to distract from a very common theme. Lots of groups are toxic.
To add… no one said it was “toxic to go fast.” What? You keep making the same sham connections you’re lambasting others for.

The problem is the tanks que ing as tanks in leveling dungeons don’t actually tank regularly so they don’t really know how to tank (like see the healers mana bar? It is empty? Don’t pull!)
They have no idea about how to maintain threat on large groups and they pulling the whole dungeon. Super stressful for healers. Not fun.
I think you’re misunderstanding people’s complaints, or maybe you’re willfully misrepresenting the problem. It’s not during the pull there’s a problem. It’s after all the mobs are grouped up and everyone is killing them. Tanks are failing to hold aggro at this time.
Having said the above, it is in fact expected that tanks will get initial threat on every mob they contact as they conduct a mass pull. Tanks failing to do this should choose either stop massing pulling or choose a different role.

I can’t even keep up with the tanks these days, I just see the mobs running away. I’ll be there in a minute…
You are arguing with one of the most notorious WoW fanboys on these forums. Best to put them on ignore, and move on.
Another WoW player that views the game through WoW goggles.

Perhaps I was misunderstanding your complaint for sure, because the complaint I was addressing is the complaint that’s most often presented here regarding threat.
There are a TON of people who complain about these pull that still for some reason don’t understand how they work.
i guarantee you ppl do big pulls too in those dungeons and you’re just too casual to witness it
It’s forced… No one really likes dungeons in wow… But gotta get gear somehow… Horrile game that bullied out the rest of the genre long before it could fully mature… this is what we are left with a husk of a shell.

So queue heals, put tank on follow, go afk, gg?

Like I said, most people are actually complaining about threat issues once the mobs have been grouped.
In any case, as previously stated, tanks should be gaining initial aggro on mobs as they come into contact with them. A lot of them are instead just running around without actually attacking anything. While yes, the mobs will continue to chase them as long as nobody does anything, this is recognized by most competent players as a complete waste of time. If you’re going to mass pull, get aggro as you go so people can start dealing at least some damage on the way. It’s not hard. Every tank’s kit is conductive to this.
Attacking during pulls notwithstanding, gaining at least a bit of threat on the mobs along the way will in part eliminate that whole enemies going everywhere after they’re grouped up problem.
This is the minigame we play when WoW is down

Nope. I LOVE dungeons. Heroics for satchels. I tank and heal. Nobody ever dies. Everyone has fun.
If you are a real tank and someone dies or isn’t having fun. You failed. You are a leader. LEAD
So true. If the game was up, I’d be in game playing.
Because players are forced into dungeons for many reasons.
- Dungeons are easier to level up in
- Queuing random dungeons usually provides incentives for tanks and healers via the bonus bag that contains augment runes that sell for a lot of gold.
- Players who wanted to just run heroic dungeons were forced into mythic dungeons thanks to Blizzard’s wonderful decision making. What do I mean by this? The system that has been in place since Legion has changed, where heroic dungeons were a pre-cursor to mythic dungeons, and wasn’t necessary. Now you have to grind heroic dungeons in order to do mythic dungeons. That’s because a Heroic dungeon is equivalent to a Mythic 0 dungeon from previous expansions, and a Mythic 0 dungeon is now equivalent to a Mythic 10 dungeon from previous expansion. So heroic dungeons are harder and take longer.
- Max level players who are just doing dungeons for gear/the tank/healer rewards bag, are forced into dungeons with players who are leveling and learning.
All of these reason accumulate into why people are impatient in random queue dungeons.
The true antidote to toxicity is not sucking at the game. If you aren’t bad, people will not get frustrated at you.
I know it’s a faux pas to suggest to anyone on the forums that they might be the problem, but c’est la vie.
I’ve not experienced this. I think this is the least toxic I’ve ever seen wow actually. Probably because it’s a good expansion and people are having fun. For the most part.
I’m leveling my resto shaman and I while I"ve healed on her in Shadowlands, its’ been a bit. My first dungeon I was super rusty and people’s health got scary low and we even had some deaths I could’ve prevented. Not a single person complained or tried to kick me. I ended up switching hero talents and it was like night and day. So much better and now things are a cake walk again.
Tanks and heals love to blame dps for everything becasue when dps mess up it’s blatantly obvious. It’s less so iwth tanks and heals. Did you use your cd’s correctly? Were you wise with your spell choices? Did you needlessly run out of mana from incorrect spell choice? All sorts of things tanks and heals can fruck up. And they are never called out. Anyways.
Yea I haven’t seen a lot of toxicity yet thank goodness.
lmfao never in my life did i think id hear pressing an ability is a M+ strat only, The mental gymnastics you have to do in order to keep your illogical point is hilarious.

Being toxic towards most people doesn’t incentivize them to improve. Most people don’t believe they’re doing anything wrong and can improve. I’ve been playing this game for 17 years and have lead multiple guilds. Trust me, the people who suck don’t think they suck, and being toxic towards them solves nothing.

Me too—I love this expansion’s dungeons, except the Dawnbreaker. I appreciate the attempt at innovation, but sheesh! Took me five runs (one even a follower dungeon!) to figure out the last boss.
