Why is the dungeon community just so hostile?

Same…

And I don’t understand where the never ending supply of these posts come from. Don’t think I even saw a vote kick in Dragonflight.

My theory is it’s a “When in Rome” problem. The game allows mass pulling in lower end content, that’s what most people want to do, some people refuse to go along with it.

Now I’ll agree the game design that allows this isn’t good. But it does, and the majority of players want to get through that content as fast as possible. So “When in Rome”

I’m just curious, you don’t have to answer, but what is toxic to you?

Personally haven’t run into any hostile players while leveling in dungeons, but of course experiences may vary. Just don’t take it personally, everyone a mess in their own way n they probly going through something.

They vote kicked you so they could queue for another dungeon without waiting on you. It wasn’t malicious, they just don’t care about you.

this comments reeks of never having healed this expac

They should delete Normal and Heroic dungeons:
1/ Follower , Normal, or Heroic Dungeons do not teach anyone anything about the M+ experience or its strategies. Huge pulls, not using CCs, interrupts will not get you anywhere in M+.

2/ Gear is found faster and more efficiently elsewhere in game so players concerned with “time wasted” by game should and do look elsewhere.

3/ Everything you need to know about M+ will be “taught” to you ONLY during your levelling experience in M0-M5 and then differently in M6-M10 (and differently again in beyond).

youre reading into things i never said. Maybe you should be learning to read instead

Yeah, I don’t tank or heal anymore.

I’m all about reducing stress in my life. I play games to reduce stress; not add to it.

To me, toxicity is saying or doing things that don’t solve problems. Flaming, bullying, etc.
Problem: Player is doing less dps.
Toxic solution: “You suck, do more dps.”
Actual solution: “Hey let’s look at what you could do together to potentially do more dps. I see you have a lot of downtime, try using your instant-cast abilities while you’re moving.”

Problem: Player is dying but doing enough dps.
Toxic solution: “Stop dying”
Actual solution: “Try to pay more attention to the ground, if you miss a few casts or mess up your rotation it’s ok, our dps is good and we just need you to stay alive”

Problem: Casts keep going off that need to be interrupted
Toxic solution: “You need to interrupt”
Actual solution: “I’ll get the first interrupt, you get the second” or “Make sure you save your interrupt for Shadowbolt Volley as it is the most dangerous cast to get off”

Toxicity to me has no solution, it is just pointing out a problem with no solution. Typically there is “brighter” language but saying “you need to ****ing interrupt” is the same as “you need to interrupt”.

Nothing like watching half the dungeon come charging at you because someone decided that tanks are optional and strategy is for the weak. Meanwhile, half the group is frantically trying to keep up while being yelled at for not having a sixth sense to anticipate every pull.

I think Blizzard should have two queue options for LFG:

'I Don’t Have Time for This' Mode:
You signed up to zoom. The tank’s pulling from the front door to the final boss, maybe stopping for a coffee if you’re lucky. Mechanics? We don't know her. If you’re not sprinting, you’re already behind. Don’t worry, they’ll let you know. In caps.

'I’d Like to Survive, Thanks' Mode:
This is for those of us who’d like to take a breath between pulls. You’re either new to the game or your role and actually want to learn what’s going on. Crazy, I know. The tank pulls based on how fast things are dying, and you can learn the mechanics without someone having a meltdown in chat.

Speed demons in one queue, learners in another. Everyone wins. Maybe then we can stop treating dungeons like a competition to see who can lose their patience the fastest.

Well, not me.

I even wait at gathering/treasure nodes for others, say a mob attacks. I’ll still be kind in game, even if I’m the last one.

Ah, your true colors are showing now.

It comes down to time investment. Alot of people are the main character in their story and any delay in that story or waste of time is seen as a personal offense.

There motto is “Don’t waste my time” and yes this a very selfish motto. But it is where alot of the hostility comes from.

I don’t consider that toxic. I see a lot of what you posted as someone just being curt or blunt. Could it be more courteous, sure, but I mean hey, everyone is different. Those kinds of comments would not even phase me. I would just make the adjustment and that is all.

Depends on the class, the level and their gear. If it’s a tank that’s lvl 70-72 in like 475+ DF gear please go ahead you can pull the entire instance and probably kill everything before people catch up to you.
Otherwise you will take some damage I guess.

OP of this thread proving that sometimes the most delicious bait is the simplest bait.

Because people aren’t there to socialize, they’re only interested in loot. And because the average person only uses the internet to complain or insult its become normalized to treat strangers terribly online. Gimme gimme gimme brats. Like a Black Friday sale at some cheap, american discount strip mall.

Lmao; I literally main two healers and am about to level a couple of my other 70 healers.

Healing normals and even heroics is not hard. At all.

Mythics are another story…

Efficiency when you’re talking about a video game is toxic. So yes it is toxic. Video games are meant to be fun. They are not meant to be efficient.

This is just capitalism trying to suck fun out of a video game. The only purpose video games serve.

“Are you even able to read or are you trying to suggest that using a defensive is a M+ strategy?”
