Why is the dungeon community just so hostile?

At least heroics and normal dungeons are easy to heal, save if someone in heroic does something really, really stupid.

I appreciate the advice to run with a guild group to learn M+, but every guild I have been in for the last 2 years has had standing high-level M+ groups not interested in teaching those of us just starting. One or two of them have said they love to run low level M+ with beginners, but that almost never materializes unless the “beginner” is one of their standing members running an alt. Bottom line remains that you have to have a lot of M+ experience to get invited to a group, but you cant’t get the experience unless you can get into a group.

I did try some follower dungeons, and they are almost as useless, as the bosses and trash still die before the effects of mechanics can be felt. The AI tank gets lost in some of them and just stops – this is somewhat better for me, as I can take my time to figure out paths to bosses, but it is marginal at best.

I stand by Mythic + being the major cause of this. You’ve always had people who wanted to go faster but Mythic + created an entirely different beast.

I don’t know bro, I’ve had a blast and leveled 3 characters in dungeons, as tank.
Didn’t have any issue.

I must be blessed.

had multiple wipes leveling up in normal dungeons because of tanks over pulling.

No one says anything they just keep throwing bodys at it until the dungeon is done.

I understand and believe what you are saying and yes it’s an issue that blizzard need to work on, I am sorry this has been your experience so far, although I do believe there is good people out there that will help you out and take you under their wings, it has been done for me before and I am sure there is others out there, keep looking!

Because every heroics Andy leveling an alt thinks they’re Keystone Hero level players held back by PUGs. It’s the same reason why people are crying about the champion track garbage dropping in delves being “too good” or low M+ being “dead”. Blizz has not given the community a reality check in FAR too long.

All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away

It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Tryin’ to hold on, di-didn’t even know
I wasted it all just to watch you gogogogogo

Ok mr Linking Park, its a good song I agree.

Cant afford it yet. Real estate in the mtns is ridiculous now.

You aren’t entitled to them teaching you anything, and they are required to help you.

So what you’re really looking for here is to be carried, not to learn. Playing with an alt is just as valuable if not more so than playing with a main for learning.

You have to have experience doing keys of a lower level before doing a higher one. I’m not going to invite ‘Zero Score Steven’ to my 13 Grim Batol.

Its as toxic as you make it. LFR will be LFR.

Goodness, someone seems like they need a bit more fiber in their diet.

For the record, dude, I am not looking to be carried, I am pointing out that there is no reliable way of leaning current M+ dungeons as a dps unless some group is willing to take a chance on you and put up with some of the inevitable mistakes a beginner makes. The current system simply does not allow for that unless you are already in a group of fairly long-standing friends. Also, the current game pug climate pretty much consists almost exclusively of people like you – elite wannabes that require an insanely high io score even when they are running low level M+.

Just do the follower dungeons. I’ve never had a problem with the little AI guys in my groups. The tank holds aggro, the healer heals, and there are never too many pulled. You can also take breaks if needed. They won’t move forward without you.

You get really good xp in the follower dungeons, just like the normal dungeons. And groups are instant. NO ONE KICKS YOU OUT.

When that happens, I take back control of the group and then give control back. Everything starts back up again.

Game changed aways back to this state. People are this way because they can be. They want to hurry and push push. It wont change.

There is though, M0 has all the mechanics a +2 will have. You can do every key at a +2, then +3 then +4. This will slowly introduce you to scaling difficulty of each mechanic. There are also a near infinite amount of resources online that will help you play your spec and role in keys, as well as break down what every single mob and boss will do in the key.

YOU have to take the initiative to learn, you have to show interest in improving. No one else can do this for you.

Put some effort in to learn on your own, and people will want to play with you.

Yeah I do that, too, but it doesn’t work in, for example, City of Threads when following the ghosts to get to the queen boss. Once the tank gets lost on that, he just can’t seem to recover no matter what. It’s also iffy in the Dawnbreaker.

Let’s see how long we can keep this going, as I am certain you are the type that absolutely must have the last word. Also, thank you ever so much for the mansplanation.

What do you mean mythics are hard to heal? Theyre not hard. At all.
