Why is the dungeon community just so hostile?

Yes, because people do pull half the dungeon at a time. It’s usually a whole lot of nothing and then blowing all CDs because with the amount of spam AOE and swirlies that go out, people can’t kick anything, even if they were so inclined in Heroics.

I got kicked yesterday, because I was a few steps behind the rogue that used cloak to skip a trash pack. The tank immediately began to rage at me because I had no choice other than to pull the pack in front me to catch up to them so the group could be healed.

Of course, people will just say I’m lying.

I only kick new players if they are unwilling to listen. But if they say they are new and not understanding some… “Cool let’s talk about it”

There is a ton of AOE dots going out as well in these dungeons, which do a ton of dmg. Pulling extra packs is a nightmare when you only have 2 cleanses.

You call that getting value for your cds, you get a crazy pull, use your 2min cds has needed and then go back to chill for 1min then has they come back you crazy pull again playing around your cds will always improve your performance so theses guys are just doing what they do in harder content.

I believe you. Healing dungeons should be fun. The problem was the tank. I refuse to heal leveling dungeons. The tanks are horrible (cuase they are dps larping as a tank.

I love a challenge, but the stuff tanks are doing now is just making dungeons harder than they have to be. It’s not efficient wiping your group to what should be easy trash pulls.

Well guess what, sometimes people die and its not the healer fault, you have healings cds and dps have defensives cds and health pot, if they dont realize their health is low and decide to not do anything about that, its also their fault. its a team effort not a ‘‘My hp is my healer problem’’ if they think like that its their problems, not yours. also if they stand in bad stuff that should be avoided its also on them you can’t be expected to save someone from a 1 shot.

I know this is true you dont see too many terrible healers cuz almost no DPS is gonna queue as healer just to get faster queue times like at least not as often as they queue tanks

Impatient is a true trend in this dungeon leveling season. I can’t follow the tank with this rush to pull and it’s making my dungeon experience not fun anymore.

I have at least 4 toons that need their vault filled out. Don’t mess with how I play the game. Go do follower dungeons and delves.

If the group wipes it’s 99% the tanks fault.

Not true, if the group members dont use their tool kit to survive the situation and use proper cds and interrupt how is it HIS fault, EVERYONE is has responsible for the survival of the group, make that interrupt, support the healer with some off heals, use healing potions, NO REASONS are good for a wipe, misplay happen and its ok, but don’t blame it on one person.

Recently I came across a Youtube video that made an observation I thought was quite astute (unfortunately I can’t remember the Youtuber’s name). He said that a lot of people go online and watch videos/streams of these elite guilds clearing dungeons, and they think that they’re that player. They’re not that player , but because they think they’re that player, they get upset when they don’t have that elite player experience.

I thought it was a good way of illustrating the point that a lot of players might just have an unrealistic expectation of what the dungeon experience is supposed to be. I remember in the classic days when wiping in dungeons multiple times and taking hours to clear was the norm. Most people expected it and were quite prepared for the necessity to either help other players or discuss and try various tactics etc.

I totally get it.

I’m a super experienced dungeon tank/healer and I absolutely refuse to heal leveling dungeons. It’s not fun at all.

Tanking them is okay tho cause I control the pace and I always ensure I pull just enough that everyone has fun , the healer is not stressed and everyone is challenged enough.

People never die in my dungeons. And wipes are unheard of.

This already exists. It’s called leaning on the community. These external resources you are so much against, they are made by players who want to help other players get better.

You talk so much about how acidic and nasty the community is, while at the same time being mad when it offers help.

Just log off.

Wouldn’t you like to know, OP?

I think you should mine your own Bismuth.

ba-dum-cha

We live in a different reality today, with all the access to class guides, dungeon journal to read boss abilities and the power of internet anyone that want to find an info about any type of content can be prepared, if they choose not to be and waste everyone esle time I could understand why some people would be annoyed, not everyone has the same patience.

You can blame mythics and item levels… those two things have been really bad for the wow playerbase as a whole.

I find 99% of people in Azeroth to be wonderful people. But I always start every pug with a friendly hello. Or “Happy Brewfest lads and lasses”
