Why is my 15+ year old account with no blemishes being suspended by a useless automatic system?

I may be playing on a character in mostly greens but every AV game I have my riding crop on, I go to Tower Point shadowstep up and cap it before Iceblood is even capped and defend it. This is all I have done in bgs the last 2 weeks yet I am being suspended for afking? And this is on a 15+ year old account that has never had a suspension or ban before.
Am I being reported because my gear isn’t average, am I being reported because I’m defending a tower? None of those are against TOS.
Do you want to lose players who have been playing your game by suspending them for no reason the day before a major patch?
Maybe now that WoW Classics population is 25% less than two years ago you can stop automating crucial admin tasks.

Tell us you were afking in bgs without telling us you were afk in bgs.

Bro I swear, same thing happened to me.

I was also defending bases in AB, calling Incs and stop people tap the flags.

People are nuts.
Has nothing to do with being afk!

Agreed. A few friends outright quit for defending towers too. It’s a crucial part of max honor gain but yet they get punished for doing the work nobody wants to. With a week not two ban. That’s part of the reason I despise the devs laziness. By the time your tower burns and you get to the leader he is dead. That’s why they have little to no total damage or healing. Cringe system. Cringe lazy devs.

I got told to /afk when I went into a bg once I hit 70 and when I didn’t do it I got hate whispers from multiple people.

Some of these tryhards think they own the game…

Just put them on ignore and move on.

Ok, but the system allows them to mass report you and get you suspended. This is incredibly dystopian that it is even a possibility to be punished by the whims of other players.

Okay, why do people have the need to say they played vanilla or played for 15+ years? Like just because you say it doesn’t mean you deserve special treatment. Like was it really necessary to add “why is my 15* hear old acc suspended?”

They said it b/c they have a clean discipline history. And to maintain such for 15+ yrs is worth noting. The Dev team has become so lazy or understaffed that they have automated things that are punishing issues that are not issues.

It’s not a practice I use, but they’re probably inferring that because they have been playing so long they actually enjoy the game and don’t just afk through everything. That’s my guess

Just wait until Wrath when road fighters get personal bonus honor and are emboldened to denigrate and report anyone bothering to defend objectives for not helping the road HK counts.

Oh, and I’d edit the OP to remove the “bad word” or expect this entire thread and everyone’s posts to disappear and you get a forum suspension when someone who is offended by the concept of playing towers decides to report it.

The system isn’t automated. If you were suspended, a GM did it.

Because they want you to know they’ve had lots of practice AFKing and they know darn well they did it the right way.

But that is known to be false. Why would you say that?

You can read here. Or not.

Yes? They pretty much say that it is automated right in the post you linked. They are using other players reports as a factor for their automated system to suspend you. If you think they manually spend the time to look through millions upon millions of reports then you are a bit naive.

They also seem to be admitting that low damage or healing is a factor in the automated system. Which is insane because you could have low damage or healing for a multitude of reasons depending on the flow of a particular BG and your current task.

Some BGs like AV even have actual quests in them. Are they suggesting that this in-game task is worthy of an automated suspension?

Correct, it is not ONLY player reports. Player reports get the name, server, date/time, and logs in front of a GM. The GM decides if the reports are valid and issues a penalty, or not, based on the logs.

We already know this to be false. Whoever is saying that is wrong. I doubt it is Blizzard saying this. They do like to lie though to make it seem like they still read reports.

Unfortunately they sometimes even cite blank reports as a reason for being suspended because it is automated. If you didn’t know you can just report without typing anything at all and it holds the same weight in the system because nobody reads it.
