Odds are if you’re a grey and green parser on the mage it will just translate to whatever you play anyway.
My guess is that you see it low on logs and use it as an excuse as to why you’re doing so poor in raids. It’s not the mage that’s the issue, it’s your underperformance that’s the problem.
But at the same time we shouldn’t forget that the odds are if he jumped onto another class like a demon hunter and parsed even lower than on his mage, he would still be doing more DPS. Not to mention he is probably working twice as hard on his mage for rotations.
Usually the people who chase the meters are the same people who perform poorly on the class they are on, so the grass looks greener when they are browsing logs.
What they don’t understand is the issue is them and not the class. If you’re playing a class poorly in raids it’s most likely you don’t understand your rotation and the mechanics in the raid. Switching classes to something that performs better on logs means nothing. Next month someone new will be top, you will see you’re underperforming on the class you rerolled too and the new class that’s on top will look shiny.
That’s just an opinion, and an extremely poor one. You really have no idea what you’re talking about.
There are also a lot of people that do extremely well with their favorite spec but just can’t beat the plebs that play the same fotm specs every second raid tier, just have to show up to the raid, and not even play optimally (Yes it rotates to the same top 3-4 specs and has for quite a few xpacs now).
I’ve seen you complain about bm a lot in the past, when it has arguably always been extremely fine and being at the top of the list of “you can do all content if you’re not pushing world first nonsense”.
If you’re in a guild with plebs who reroll every raid tier cuz of logs you’re obviously not in a good guild. The people who chase fotm or people who are typically not very good at the game. The players who are pushing world first obviously min/max to that degree. The average player can play whatever they want and fully clear mythic.
If you’re stuck on progression I put my life on it that it isn’t because you lack some dps, it’s almost always because your raid isn’t doing the mechanics right.
lol I think now mage is good, we have int buff so every group need at least one mage, and we dont need to care about our dps because we are not warlocks or shadow priest, I can do the guild run while watching YouTube and eating food at the same time, nobody would care why your damage is so low, that makes me relax.
Yeah and a lot don’t, stop grouping every player that thinks the specs are bad, together. You get outta here, it’s the mage forum, not the bad hunter with bad opinions forum. Other than the 1-2 others that try to defend your bad opinions and replies in every post, which I’ll assume are your alts, no one cares for your worthless drivel.
It’s incredibly common. That tends to be why the parse curve on fotm and popular specs are so steep. Someone doing 90 compared to 99, is the difference between 50 and 99 at extreme times (Affliction in Antorus). It’s very common for a significant portion of people on a fotm spec to be poor players in terms of optimal play.
Because there’s a lot of common denominators.
It’s a public forum.
There’s been a mage in almost every high top 100 kill for all three raids so far. Mage is not meta. That does not mean it’s bad garbage trash.
And the difference between people who understand that, and those that don’t, is staggering.
No I can’t, if I play warlock or priest, I will try to let my name appear on the top of skada and it is possible and ez, but if you play mage, no matter how best you try, its really hard to get top 3
Ah yeah, sure was a green parser on my mage. Not at all purple on mythic fights mmhmm.
And totally doing horribly on my shaman now clearing 9/9 before nerfs, just an awful player huh.
It’s funny because my DH who is nearly 10 ilvls below my mage does just as much damage as my mage in M+ (only place i play my DH really). and I don’t even know what I’m doing half the time and have an easier time with mechanics in both M+ and the few raids ive done
Like I have said before, I don’t chase parses or logs. Personally as a player I offer myself to do the crappy roles or the things that will hurt my DPS if it helps the raid out.
What I dont like as mage is that a lot of those options for my mage to really help out in raid is gone. If you looked at how mage was in say HFC, there were a ton of fun gimmicks and soaks you could do to help out the raid and not necessarily be the top dps.
But now mage is just poor dps for a lot of work, an int buff, and that’s it. Ele pumps out more damage while parsing lower and offers more utility to the raid on a lot of fights. I could pick several other specs as well, only mentioning ele as it’s what I swapped to for jaina prog (resto/dps)
If that were the case I would be a warlock right now. Or take my already leveled and geared priest and go shadow. You really like to stick words in people’s mouths.
