Lol. Mage is one of the worst OVERALL class in the game right now for raiding.
Just look at the logs and you will be convinced. All 3 specs have serious issues.
And all 3 specs are way down there.

Is that why every raid has one.
Fire is a constant for execute phase bosses, arcane has top tier single target, frost is good in dungeons and is near required on some bosses for the slow.

Mages are NOT 20% behind like you all make it seem. Do any mage spec vs say the #7 spot on logs and let me know how far away they are. You might learn something.
Every raid takes one so that it can buff the healers and the rest of the caster dps with int lol. Please donāt pretend that is not the case.
Tell you what, find me a top 20 kill without a mage from the past three raids.
I only go to 20 because thatās as far as Iām willing to look for two bosses from three raids.
Iām not. But simply by having that on itās own, mage is already well ahead of every spec aside from DH in terms of necessity for raids. Every other specās power can be fight dependent or dependent on the comp. You always want a mage and a dh.
Raids still need that intellect buff!
So BM needs a buff all we do is dps.

Iām being serious, I rarely donāt chart on the meter. So it just doesnt make sense, are posts like these to make mages even more OP than they actually are? Trust me Iām not trying to normalize anything. I m+ all the time, the other day a rogue beat me on the meter and I was like wth is going on. It rarely happens.
Umm if youāre consistently beating rogues in m+ then you dungeon with very, very bad rogues. An outlaw rogue with 30 LESS IL than a mage can beat them on trash packs handedly. They arenāt amazing on ST in outlaw, but on aoe, no way you should be consistently winning.
Cutting edge raider here. Mage is NOT in a good place right now.
Int buff.
You bring 1-2 fire mages MAYBE for hard execute bosses. Arcane ST is absolutly awful in current raid environments due to mechanics and the way the spec functions. If there was a hard patchwork fight, sure, but there isnāt. And if you say āBut the first boss in BoD!ā Iāll just ignore you because that fight has been puggable and a cakewalk since it released.
Frost is okay for M+, but itās been pretty much replaced by eleshaman. The slows are nice, but other tanks and classes can help the tank kite, have shorter ints, more DPS, and more utility to bring to a M+ dungeon than others. Itās not impossible to push high as a mage, but donāt act like itās godly for M+.
And itās one fight that needs mage slows. One fight that you need one frost mage for lol.
And Iāll take mine, and other mythic raiding mages feelings and input over some guy who constantly shoves words in peopleās mouths in attempt turn the conversation in his favor.
If all 3 of hunterās specs were as low as they were, yes, I could say hunterās need a buff if they didnāt bring any utility and suffered massively from how fights are designed.
For example - If say, frost, was dead last on logs/meters but arcane and fire where performing very well? I wouldnāt have a complaint, as a pure DPS changing specs is necessary. If all you do is DPS, have bad DPS, and provide very little to the raid in terms of utility, your class isnāt doing good.
No one is trying to be god DPS or OP. We just want to not have all of our specs in awful positions while bringing nothing but a buff. I dont think anyone here is worried about being beaten on a meter, but when I see a 100 parsing mage be out dpsād by people blue parsing, thereās an issue. Iāve been out DPSād by other people all through my raiding career, even when I was āopā. I didnāt care because I still was doing decent damage, and providing good utility for my raid.
When all of that is gone and someone who isnāt even paying attention to whats going on can out perform a mage working his buns off in all 3 specs, nu uh.
Itās not like they will listen to you. We have mages and other raiders with loads more experience and theyāll just shout āb-b-but logs!!ā and ignore any real input.
Heck, my whole guild realizes how awful mages are and constantly crack jokes about it. People with actual raiding experience and knowlage of the game all agree they are in a pretty awful state.
If just one spec is able to perform well, you wonāt hear a single complaint from me, I promise.
