O rly? I’ll need to check that out. And, I don’t need it in 5 minutes, but some people up there were claiming it’s easy and everyone should be able to do it.
Ayy lmao, no. Stop enforcing even more dissociation between pvp players and pve players. There are only WoW players.
The simple, elegant solution, would be to reduce the absurd scaling of ilvl for each raid difficulty. There is no reason why the difference between a normal dungeon geared player and a mythic raid geared player or M+ geared player is almost the difference between a lvl 60 guy in lvl 40 gear in vanilla and a lvl 60 guy in full Naxx gear. We’re speaking 65ish ilvl difference.
Or if I remember, that’s mainly the difference between someone who did heroic dungeons in WotLK (200 ilvl) and someone who did heroic ICC 10 man (264 ilvl if I remember). Every patch, which means if a heroic dungeon guy ever catches up to the heroic ICC raider, the next patch he has to do it again because everything is reset. At least back then, ICC took a while to release, and heroics were always 200 ilvl, so you had plenty of time to follow the raiders when they did Naxx (213-226), Ulduar (226-232), ToC (232-251). You also had catchup tokens which is similar to benthic gear in ilvl comparison, but the difference is that you didn’t start with nothing.
Timewalking vendors for 380 rings. Inscription trinkets for 400 trinkets. Koraks quest for 400 weapon
Yea, it’s obvious everyone loves how homogenized it is, that’s totally why no ones complaining about there being pvp vendors.
In reality, people enjoy there being different aspects of the game that a player can adventure through. Hell, I’m a PvE raider. I don’t mind pvp right now. I use to LOVE it when I had something to aim for in the past. The idea that pvp declining has to do with a “separation” between players is absurd. Pvping has declined simply because there are better games to play for PvP. Everyone is into Mobas and Battle Royals. When it comes down to it, pvp in WoW is just way too much for people to get into and really enjoy. They’ve noted this problem before.
Thanks! Hmm… so you’d have to wait for a timewalking event and also have enough badges… buy trinkets… and wait to turn in the Korrak’s quest…
Good to know, of course. But I’d still say the “it’s easy in 5 minutes” people are full of it. Especially if you don’t care about or do much PvE.
[edit]
I found the temporary ‘AV vendor’! Didn’t know he even existed till today. Thanks to folks who dropped the bread crumbs.
Yea pvp reward structure is stupid
They got rid of templates but never added vendors back in. The rng garbage fest system they put in its place is not a good replacement.[quote=“Kharroon-emerald-dream, post:44, topic:399080”]

PvP is easier to understand and play than ever before due to pruning. However, their massive barrier to entry with PvE timegated walls makes the gap between fresh players and mythic geared raiders likely at its largest ever. Not to mention it’s likely the most alt unfriendly xpac ever. Why go through all this effort when you can queue up and be playing on an even field, besides skill level, in other modern pvp games.
Though I agree PvP vendors need to exist and that random bgs should have a chance to drop higher ilvl gear (because why should they drop significantly lower ilvl gear than heroic/m0 dungeons?), people are seriously exaggerating the fact over geared people will beat you at lower ilvls.
I did a few random bgs on like 6 alts the other day, most of which were 386, and have a level 1 Heart of Azeroth.
I was able to kill the people with 400k health just fine 1 on 1. Yes, they were more difficult to kill than people with similar health, but it was still doable. The only time I had trouble was when I was faced with a class I always had trouble with on certain alts, regardless of their health. AKA Rogues on certain casters, warriors on my hunter alt when playing MM, etc.
And unlike in “Account Wide Essence” threads where someone comes in and goes “It’s not a problem, I can do it no problem!”, this isn’t a case of someone being carried by friends or just being a pvper. I’m not a PvPer. 90% of my honor levels came from Warden Towers in Legion, and 90% of my Honorable Kills come from low level bgs.
Again, I’m not saying it’s not a problem. You guys just need to stop exaggerating and overselling it. If anything, that just hurts your case.
No offense but bgs died quite a few expansions back. I think this expansion simply sealed their fate. take Korrak event had to add xp gains to get people to queue.
Not class rebalance, not gear changes, not vendor changes, not map changes. And when they do make changes its a phone in.
Bg’s failed and died. there like the pve of world quests but crap rewards.
I am a casual PvPer. I do it since Wrath on all classes.
I will be getting Bloodthristy in a few days.
You will not kill anyone decent wearing ilvl 380 gear 1v1. They are all free kills for me, even some healers (the current bane of PvP is also way too much healing).
There are always people who seem clueless in PvP that will die no matter how much HP they have, but to 1v1 a 440 ilvl in 380 gear? That’s preposterous.
If it’s a pet class, I wouldn’t doubt it if the pet alone could solo you.
Not even mentioning the lack of azerite essences here.
Anyone focused on PvP will be using the M+4 essence (focused azerite beam) + mechagon trinket with Cyclotronic Blast to melt you.
Most people got Concentrated Flame lvl 2/3 too.
Capping conquest is not a solution either, since they killed the epic BGs by introducing trAshran to the rotation and making AV obnoxious, and each win on the actually fun BGs is only 8 conquest after the first.
If one likes casual PvP, at the moment, one is SOL.
Random bgs does not have entry requirement other than lvl 10 or 15 I believe
If you are talking about premades ,then make your own group with your own rules.
If you are conquest farming, the last place you want to be is a battleground.
What you want to do is:
- Do Battle for Nazjatar. It pops every 3 hours and awards 50 conquest for a win, 20 for a loss. If you are an Alliance player, join a RUIN BATTLE FOR NAZJATAR group. Will be an easy win. If you are Horde, try to find a phase without RUIN in it. Basically if you see 20+ Alliance at each flag, or storming the base, open group finder and try to find a group to get you out of there.
- Once a day, loot a supply drop in nazjatar. This will reward you 75 conquest. Supplies drop roughly every 45 minutes in zone.
- Once a day, loot a supply drop in Stormsong Valley/Drustvar/Tirigard Sound/Zuldazar/Nazmir/or Vol’dun for 50 conquest.
- Do invasions when they are up. Completing each quest will award 10 or 15 conquest for a total of 75 conquest for all. Though these have odd hours. Sometimes spawning in the middle of the night.
- While doing the invasions you can run across secret supply crates. They seem to share lock out with the Stormsong Valley/Drustvar/Tirigard Sound/Zuldazar/Nazmir/Vol’dun supply drops though.
- If you are Alliance complete your weekly Against Overwhelming Odds quest to kill 25 Horde, for 50 conquest.
- Complete your weekly CTA: Nazjatar/Mechagon quest to kill 25 horde/alliance in the respective zones for 75 conquest.
- Complete your weekly CTA: Stormsong Valley/Drustvar/Tirigard Sound/Zuldazar/Nazmir/Vol’dun quest to kill 25 Horde/Alliance in the respective zones for 50 conquest.
(The AoO’s and CTA quests can only be completed solo or in a party, not a raid. You can usually find groups in the LFG finder under custom pvp for them.)
Only then should you be going to BG’s for conquest.
Conquest gear starts at 410 with a weapon.
Then capping gives you 415 gear. You need to cap once for each slot before moving onto 430 gear.
Next patch you will start getting 445 gear though conquest capping each week.
Cause gear is more important than skill i guess…

Thank you very much for this rundown.
Too bad it involves War Mode, but I’ll try.
My laptop can’t handle large battles anymore because the CPU is overheating.
This is an RPG. If you want everyone to be the same go play Fortnite.
Please mail me your gold before you quit.
Thanks for the bump.
Why they haven’t implemented just a basic set that everyone gets when entering a battle ground that keeps people on a even playing field and the rewards earned through pvp are used outside of the BG is beyond me.
I didn’t play during Legion, but I did like the PvP system they had in Guild Wars 2 for BG’s. (At least how it was when I played several years ago) f
You selected from various BG gear.
Could create very different sets for very different playstyles. Could create a heavy self healing cleric build. Or one that is tanky and doesn’t take much damage.
But such a system doesn’t work because there is no sense of reward.
Not a big fan of PvP personally.
Still support the idea of you guys getting your PvP vendors though.
So you failed to explain how exactly M+5 is a prerequisite for random BGs.
I have a feeling you don’t understand what prerequisite means, or perhaps you’ve simply misused it in this post.
