I was going through the support site trying to find a way to contact support and I felt like my time was being wasted trying to do it. Endlessly clicking through link after link when I simply needed to describe my situation to a real person. Eventually I was able to fill out an email form, but for some reason the issue was labeled under “Recover email address.” I don’t even know how I got there. I just needed to contact support and it wasn’t even about recovering my email. It was about using a WoW token on my WoW classic character that I can’t login to because my game time has expired. Navigating the support site is annoying. I submitted the ticket but I don’t even know if it will be properly addressed given the category its under. I really wish the support site was more simplified. There should be a link on the very first page to directly contact support because there are several issues that simply are not covered in the help articles and usually my situation involves me having to talk to a real person to deal with.
For Classic Tokens, you must consume the token before your remaining gametime ends.
For most issues if you cannot contact Support it is because they cannot help you with this due policy or otherwise. It used to be a simple create ticket portal but that was used for suggestions, bug reports or just chatting to GM’s all which took valuable GM time that can be used to help players with actual issues.
The Support Site generally covers issues that our staff can help with, if there isn’t an option to submit a ticket in most cases, it is an issue that our staff cannot help with.
For Classic, due to the way access works, there isn’t an option to purchase or use a Token from the log in screen like there is for Modern WoW.
That would be an exception, Annorisa, and not the rule. We always want to help if we can, but there are areas in which we tend to stay hands off. If you look at the response to your old ticket the Game Master said:
“This courtesy game time is very limited and is an exception to get. We will not always be able to supply this for you.”
I am sorry. You can submit a ticket to make the request, but it may not be something that a GM can grant to you a second time.
Appears you received an exception to the rule and expect more exceptions which would render the rule invalid.
If you take a look at my previously linked threads, they have to say no to those players while giving you yes. That would create unfairness with players paying the same amount.
In retail if I remember correctly if you have a WoW token on a character you get the option to use it upon log in. I understand classic WoW doesn’t operate the same as retail, but there should be some way to use a token that has been purchased on classic even if your game time is expired.
I expect this to not still be a problem in 2024 in a Blizzard game.
It functions that way for Modern WoW because of how access to that version of the game works. Access to Classic is granted by having an active Modern WoW license. We do not currently have a system that allows you to activate the account in the same way, sorry.
That would be a suggestion you should post in the General Forum, or by using the in-game Suggestion feature. This particular forum has no say in development decisions.
Quite frankly, the onus is on the player to understand their subscription dates and when they will lose access to the game. I’m struggling to understand why you wouldn’t use the token at any time during your month long subscription. Using a token adds the game time to the end, so there’s simply no reason for trying to save it until the final moments.
But be that as it may, this is not a service currently offered. If you would like to see it changed, you’ll have to use the suggestion options I listed above.
It looks like I can purchase 60 days of game time with my Blizzard balance and I have more than enough to do that. I didn’t realize that was a thing until looking in the shop. I guess I can do that then use the token after logging in.
Because I was still used to the convenience of retail WoW tokens and being able to use them upon login even if my account is inactive.
