i dont understand what the problem is? can anyone explain
People don’t really get banned for it tho from what I have heard.
"it is against blizzard TOS, but theres not alot of people have been banned for using it in the way it was intended to be used. i.e (dont use it to change assets such as black lotus to light beams so u can spot them easy etc.)
a huge ban wave hit retail where alot of morph’s got banned but blizzard overturned those into short bans and gave a warning to stop using it. but they were trying to target people using it to make nodes, chests etc visibile from anywhere on the map essentially.
theres a few well known streamers who use imorph since classic launch and havnt had an issue and ive used it here and there for fun.
i doubt blizzard will go after imorph’s specifcally but again its a use at your own risk."
Yea if all youre doing is changing your own toons race with it I haven’t heard people being banned.
Guess I should of been specific.
It doesn’t alter anything besides appearance in that regard.
About what?
Can you get banned for using iMorph? Yes.
Will you get banned for using iMorph?
At least let us PAY to change our appearance. This is what people do when you can’t change your character’s appearance.
Been suggesting that since first day of classic, along with name changes. But they went with boosts instead. “What’s the most stupid thing we could sell?” “Probably an instant level up…” “Let’s do that!”
About only changing you toons appearance and not other game files.
Typically they will let it slide if your Gnome is a Tauren but not if you change other game files.
Can’t alter game files
But people stream using it all the time.
I would argue the main reason blizzard doesn’t love it outside the game file thing, is if everyone can mog their account to have a spectral tiger, ZG tiger, or dope looking gear, stuff would start to lose it’s meaning, and people would play less to collect cool stuff
It alters it for you only is why they don’t care.
For instance your Tauren can be altered to be a gnome, the rest of the world still sees you as a Tauren, you are the only 1 seeing a gnome.
show your support in this thread. 400+ replies so far
I get how it works, and that it’s only on your end. But people sure do love looking cool even if only they see it
I wouldn’t suggest using it.
If anyone catches your stream using it and reports it, chance of getting banned is real.
isn’t the the exact opposite of the fundamental core of MMORPGs - persistent world? sounds to me like the world will have zero persistence if it never existed in a way that all players can agree on.
I’m too stupid to understand what you’re saying.
How do you know anyone is using tmorph?
Because you will see them like they are, only the person using it will see their toon as different.
You would have no idea so it shouldn’t alter anything for you.
This is all you really need to know. It’s illegal because you are hacking the game, regardless of how innocent you deem the result.
People say Blizzard can’t even remove the bots, and yet you expect them to remove imorph users. Those who exploited bronze dragonflight or violet eye rings haven’t been banned either.
Cause there was a time when people would alter files to only increase the size of mining nodes to be larger than they used to be so people were able to mine them from further distances. Then there was also the case of modifying part of a floor of AQ to strait up skip bosses, a whole guild got perma’d for it. Vanilla days.
So now its if they’re injecting something into the game files the change the appearance of something, its bannable. Only time I can recall it being overturned was the time in BfA where people were banned for changing their armor to be a bit more…sexual. They were banned for a short while, then it was overturned shortly after.
Wrong. There are like 3 Gladiators using it everyday.
It has always been bannable.
