Why is gold abysmal this xpac

I know right? It feels like I’m being rewarded a penny for my efforts when I see this kind of reward.

…and it certainly IS an abomination. /sigh

I agree. This is why I chose in Dragonflight to only farm mats and had a feeling I would make a ton of gold doing the same in this expansion and I was right. I’ve made 1.2 Mil so far just by selling mats.

WQ’s are warband bound. You can’t triple dip across the warband.

Isn’t that just with rep? I guess I haven’t noticed with other rewards.

Rep is warbound but good does not seem to be, I did the elite quest 17 times today and every character got the gold reward.

Can you try it on two toons to see what it gives you on the second?

I have two 80. and a pack of 70’s. I logged my main, and there’s an isle of dorn WQ worth 800+ gold, but this character doesn’t see it because I probably already did it on this one so I could be wrong.

I’m going to take a few minutes and find one that gives gold and see if I can spam it twice.

Edit: Here’s my result, the gold reward was a one-time on this 80, I did Light’s gambit in hallowfall, My second 80 could do it but it had turned into a weapon reward that’s well below the level of my druid.

So I was half-right in that you cannot spam a WQ for the gold reward.

Because Blizzard can’t leave things alone, probably.

They do this: gold becomes easy to earn in WoD, people get rich, so they nerf it (but of course leave the rich people that exploited early rich).

Is almost as easy in Legion, so they nerf it again (but of course still leave the people that exploited early ahead).

By SL they’d pretty much destroyed that, so they decided to go after the average player in other ways.

SL got tons of backlash, so they fixed some of the SL problems in DF, and also made gold easy to get again in a lot of ways, so they nerfed it (but of course leave the people that exploited early ahead).

In case you haven’t noticed a trend: Blizzard, in general, seems to reward those who exploit early ahead of those who do not, and although they do have their very rare occasional W moments where they actually do something about it (like the 4 day suspension on people exploiting rep gearing in TWW), in general: they don’t, so the mantra has become pretty commonplace: “Exploit early, exploit often.”

Hopefully Blizzard does something to fix that.

…I don’t expect they will.

I’ve made a lot of gold PvPing this week. Vicious Bloodstones are 2500 honor and sell for anywhere from 12-16k gold, plus whatever patterns you get in win boxes selling for thousands too. Don’t have to do anything extra either, if you like PvP since you get honor by doing just about any kind of PvP.

Which elite quest? I’ll see if I can see it. Unless it’s rep locked I’m still at 7 -11 on reps.

It’s in the southeast corner of the spider zone Anjkhet or whatever.

It’s just to kill one mob it gave all of my characters 800 gold each if it is switching to a weapon for someone else that sounds like a bug.

Only rep quest should be warband one time

Blizzard has been at war with Farmers and Bots for a long time, that’s the reason why they make it difficult to get ‘normal’ gold, activities that represent 100k gold per month for standard content players represent 5 million per month for Farmers and Bots… Blizzard wants to avoid that because these people are looking for a high and fixed income to ‘convert’ gold into real money and with their commercial activity and use of bots they collapse the servers, mission areas, auctions, services, crafting… T_T

Can confirm. I can easily net 15-20k/hr fishing/cooking. Probably just as much if not more from mining/herbing.

Disenchanting cheap greens (300-325gold) used to be pretty profitable, but things got weird since the season started. Buying Cinderbee Belly and turning them to Hot Honeycomb used to be very profitable till people started raising prices of the Belly.

totally agree

Where is this “you can make 20k+ gold per hour with gathering” claim coming from?

Decided to learn mining + herbalism on one of my alts this morning since I woke up kinda earlier than expected (insomnia), so just decided to kill time testing this claim out since I was already up and everyone else was still asleep

Flew around the map just gathering for about 60-70 minutes and then tossed my haul on the auction house

Everything sold almost instantly… but the gold payout was only like ~9400 gold? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: That’s a pretty large discrepancy/underwhelming versus the “you can make 20-25k gold per hour” claims

Are the folks making good gold from gathering operating out of low-pop/dead servers or something? I’m on a high-pop server on said toon and the prices already seem to be going down

I’ve noticed my large chunks of gold come from the weekly cache and the special assignment daily you get when you complete 3 WQ in a zone.

Once in awhile I will get an 800g quest pop up as well.

Of course I am in the they should add more gold sinks rather than nerf gold gains club but that’s never how the :game_die: rolls

pretty sure those people have kp and you don’t?
