Why is gold abysmal this xpac

I’m going to have to hard disagree with you here, unless you’re just considering anything positive in the gold column being “make gold”.

“Raw gold” - WQ’s, quests, drops, etc. drop considerably lower amounts than other xpacs, as the OP made clear. Races gave 4-5x in DF, there were more gold WQ’s that generally dropped more compared to the 2-3 now that give 800-900g. Heck there was that one Centaur WQ to kill one mob that gave like 1500g in DF.

Mats and AH, etc. are quite the opposite – for the moment. That’s where the money is this expansion, but it’s just trading gold between players, so it’s unclear how long that will last.

Not everyone wants to just farm mats or play the AH when they play. Personally, I’m disappointed, as it means there’s really less incentive to play my alts, as opposed to just farming mats on one character.

The skyracing wq has got to be a bug, right? No way that 170g is supposed to be the reward… not even worth doing.

Couple wow tokens will set you right.

be great if it was

It’s funny, the patrons are giving more gold than players to have things crafted. Now if they gave all the items needed on every craft. Then it would be perfect.

My friend always wins at the casino too. Lucky guy.

Probably to further incentivize valuing a buggy release at $90. It is amazing how much gold could be made from even gathering the first few weeks. Things are dropping off now that the min maxers are about finished with things.

Id rather play Final Fantasy

Then the market would just adjust and 1k gold would buy you as much as 100 does right now.

Just do your wqs. Im getting about 946 with warmode enabled per gold rewarding wq and Im doing those on all of my alts.

I bought two tokens to convert to bnet balance the past month (when they dipped to 170k)

And I now have more gold than I had at the start of the expansion.

Gathering, tinderboxes, getting ~1000g from weekly activities, it adds up quickly. The gold in TWW isn’t as obvious as it was in DF, but it’s still there.

I found a BoE week 1 in heroic raid. Then I got another side grade piece. I sold them for a total of 900K.

It is all gone just from buying flasks, enchants, potions, and feasts.

The cost of playing the game is WAY too high compared to the gold you get from doing it.

This will not change. Blizzard wants you to buy tokens.

To make gold in this game you have always had to do gold making activities. It has never changed. You should not be able to get thousands of gold from content that rewards bis gear. That is not how it works. You have to utilize your profession or join a farm for expensive items. Good luck

Gave gave away gold when I left quit end of Shadowlands.

Came back with only 1/2M of which I used most to for enchants, consumables etc. Only now playing an alts in seeing my professions pay off.

The game provides you with the gold you need, so you gotta play the game.

My problem with gold started in DF … And it’s because of all the new systems … crafting being the biggest culprit.

I’m not someone that enjoys gold farming … at all. I’ve done it in MoP and then Legion, so I amassed a bunch of gold, but since Legion, the only gold I’d make would be from the odd BoE I would get from raids (I did pretty well there).

But DF, I was not so lucky with BoE’s and wound up spending so much, just keeping up with all the new systems and the costs associated to everything I’d need to raid (flasks, food, enchants, etc.), keep gear optimized, crafted gear upgrades, etc… And it’s just insane how quickly it adds up, especially over multiple characters over multiple seasons.

And for anyone that is not spending time gold farming, but also want to keep up with gear and optimizing, I can see it being a problem.

TL;DR
DF introduced a lot of systems that requires a lot of gold, making it difficult for anyone that doesn’t gold farm to keep up with. It would make sense that Blizzard rewarded more gold from all forms of content. I’m not saying it needs to be a huge amount, anything would be helpful.

Tied to it the huge cost of mats that trickle in to make anything and its so hard to make gold rank consumables…

The amount of times ive had to regrow my horns blown off from alchemy experimentation failing 9 out of 10 times…

Fun fun…

Im constantly bleeding gold with only tokens as a fast gold making option… Im sure it will get better when i get flasks to gold rank. Certainly…

You do not get enough gold by simply playing the game anymore, not even enough to cover repair bills. Farming is required, that was never the case in the past.

Not really a complaint, just an observation. Most people do hate to farm though.

nice, that’s almost enough to buy a single r2 flask!

I’m sorry but theres no way he made 5 million gold selling ah greens. I know what you are talking about, when the expac first launched you could make decent money off them (1k gold-5k gold per piece) but they have quickly fallen down to like 250 gold per piece. He MAYBE could have made a million gold (and that’s a big if) if he played like constantly, but no way he made 5 million.

I’m currently about 500k above where I started at the launch of The War Within. It’s passive gold from passive things I can’t use like fish, meats, questing and selling things to the vendor I can’t disenchant.

Not making any money from crafting even using the patron system. For some reason end of life Dragon Flight paying for crafts carried over to start of TWW. Now if Patron orders would put all the materials up then it would be like a real customer bought the order. Sad part is I rarely see any orders up on most of my professions and the patron system isn’t really giving me things I can make or offering knowledge point rewards.
