I’m not dismissing community at all by saying that. I’m saying if your community is as strong as you think it is, why can’t you talk to each other? Do you guys not have phones? I had to tell the irl friends I’ve been gaming for years with that based on how the queues were going I would not be able to play on Herod for weeks if not longer. I told the group’s I played with I was making a character on benediction so I could play instead of staring at a queue. I found a good guild of people who have day jobs and play at night. And then friends from Herod come to Benediction so they could stop staring at queues. Your community is as strong as you make it. If your community is willing to cast you aside because you cant remote in and queue over lunch or whatever, how strong is your community?
As it has been explained roughly 4 dozen times throughout this thread, many of us don’t. We are upset on behalf of guildmates and friends who do not have the means to avoid the queues. I have access to my computer during the work day to avoid them so it isnt an issue for me personally.
But I care about my friends and guildmates, and it is upsetting to me that a large chunk of them are basically locked out from playing with us, when for many of them this guild was the only reason they resubscribed after over a decade.
Again, i can understand why for people without friends, this is a confusing concept.
Let me explain one last time to those that do not understand.
I am a member of a large, prominent guild on Whitemane. The guild is not moving. They are there to stay. There are over 100 members. I joined their discord and got to know them. Many of them do not have full time schedules and so can afford to queue for hours to get in or manage to get in during low pop times.
I enjoy the guild, I enjoy the people, I like what their plans are. I made a character with them on launch day. I experienced all the craziness with them. I helped them and they helped me. I spent hours on this character over the first several days because i was able to wait in queues then.
I can no longer wait in queues. I have not been able to play with them in days because of them.
This is what I am being asked so flippantly to give up. All those experiences and friendships.
I am most likely going to do so, but I want YOU to realize this is not easy, it is not preferred, and it is not ideal. It is bad. It is a sad outcome. It would go a long way if you people could at least acknowledge this.
