“the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge’” - Isaac Asimov
Before anything else is done to increase M+ rewards, I want M+ restored to the difficulty it should have, so that M+ players are earning their gear in the first place.
This is why I said m track for +14-15 range in the new system. If you’ve not tried m+ on beta the scaling increases caused by the final affix are brutal. They feel like current 18s.
It’s still weird to me that people would like M+ but not raiding.
Why is this weird? A lot of the base are older with families and responsibilities. The ability to pop on an evening or early morning when it’s quiet and knock out 2 keys in about an hour is a lot easier to swallow (for many) than needing to dedicate 3 hour window blocks 2 nights a week. Especially when life can be so unpredictable and can throw off one’s schedule.

Most people with families are at work in the morning?
And M raiding gets paid out on the back end with trading. If they actually re-cleared entire raids would gear out super quick, just like they do with heroic raids. Imagine that. You create your own problem, and then refuse to accept the solution to it. Instead you scape goat M+ and actively try to make it worse.
Btw, raiding is way more time-efficient in terms of gearing than M+ is, you can clear the whole raid in 2 hours meanwhile an average M+ takes around 30-40 minutes and this may come as a shock to you, but time is finite, people don’t have the ability/time to play mythic plus 50 hours a week.
Mythic raiding always had an advantage over M+ when it comes to cantrip/mythic track items and M+ had the advantage of loot quantity for heroic track. We have been gearing the fastest with the upgrade/crafting systems, this is simply a way to extend gearing without having to nerf M+/crafting.
At the end both M+ and raiding still have access to the same ilvl. Yes we can argue how only doing M+ is more rng but only doing mythic raiding is also more rng and slower gearing than doing both.
For people that were pretty happy with the gearing speed this might look worse but personally I will enjoy the changes as I like gearing to be more a long process where I can still get upgrades while clearing the raid or even on farm.
I think difficulty increases should come from new mechanics, not just damage numbers.
Imagine if Mythic Fyrrak was just LFR Fyrrak with more health - that’s how M+ is designed, currently, and it’s a huge failure on Blizzard’s part.

I forgot people work 7 days a week…
Btw, raiding is way more time-efficient in terms of gearing than M+ is
lol no it’s not.
This lie is such a joke.
I forgot people work 7 days a week…
If you have a family that implies kids who are also up in the morning
At the end both M+ and raiding still have access to the same ilvl.
This is not reality, it just isn’t. The reality is that most of your gear will comprise of upgraded hero gear, and the gap between hero and myth has increased by more than double!
This is a fact. M+ great vault offers the same ilvl as mythic raid drops.
Mythic raiding always had an advantage over M+ when it comes to cantrip/mythic track items
Is that why I have to keep farming M+ for BiS items like Forgestorm, Crawg Tusks, Blood-Spattered Scale, etc.?
Btw, raiding is way more time-efficient in terms of gearing than M+ is,
If you’re looking at a single day: maybe. If you’re looking at the course of a week: not even close. You clear the raid once, and you’re done vs you run as many keys as you have time for, and continue to get twice as much loot per person.
Yes, it is factually correct that you can get the same ilvl from weekly vault as any raid boss. Who gave you council btw?
I think difficulty increases should come from new mechanics, not just damage numbers.
Yes but scaling damage increasing the relevance of mechanics as difficulty increases, as well as forcing more overlaps and more total mechanics per time spent due to larger and more complex pull setups achieves a similar thing.
Conversely, dodging lava waves in smolderon was an extremely taxing mechanic during prog, but once we had enough hp to live a hit with more than 10% hp they became a bit of a joke. It’s the same principle in reverse.
It’s also not like the 1st and 2nd mythic bosses pose a challenge even in the same order of magnitude as the final two, despite dropping essentially the same ilvl.
I love how people try to make it sound like being on the community council means I have to agree with any opinions posted on the forums.
If you have a family that implies kids who are also up in the morning
Are you really nitpicking every single point to be what, intentionally obtuse? Not every family operates the way you think it does in your head. I am usually up an hour or two before my kids are up. Take away the morning part of my post, the rest still stands.
He’s not wrong.
You get one Mythic track piece each week for a max Vault. It’s RNG but you have access to that track of gear and access to a fully upgrade just like a Mythic Raider.
