Why I'm quitting BGs as an Alliance player

Had my first poisonous merc in an AV today.

He spent the entire BG spamming how noobs we were and linking his AV achievements and screaming for everyone to zerg drek while they horde still had 3 towers up.

Meanwhile me and a few others were backing capping towers, and securing GYs, wiping the Horde when they went in with 1 Marshall up, finally starting our push by burning TP. Had a hunter in there with me who would trap people running in to defend and then I would Typhoon them off the tower. By the time they made it back up we were set to do it again. I think I got the same priest 4 times.

Ended up winning that game…

High ilvl doesn’t matter.

Sounds epic.

And even if you had lost, you should have been rewarded for getting so close.

Under the current “only winners get points” setup, you wouldn’t have. Thats bad design.

funny just had a similiar experience, some trash prot war was spamming insults since we were defending our obj. Game was a thrashing for horde players, ended up 235 to 0 without any towers taken.

(also the no “links” shat is a special kind of stupid)

¯_(ツ)_/¯

My reward had we lost would have been a fun game with people who choose to try instead of letting them win.

Exactly. People fail to take the snowball effect into consideration.

Oh, they know, they just like to use the “that’s not my problem” mentality.

Where did that conquest go in all the games I’ve lost? Another Blizzard conspiracy!

True. Easier to deny an uncomfortable truth than face it exists at all.

But it was okay in wod where gear mattered far more. Gearing is so easy this expansion since you can do all content, even world quests, before stepping foot in a bg.

I have never claimed it was ok in WoD. There was a definite problem with faction imbalance in that expansion also. The big difference is, Blizz only let that problem remain for a short time before they jumped in and made it all better for the hordies. For Alliance? they just tie their blindfolds tighter and pretend there is no problem at all.

I mean to be honest gearing in WOD was the easiest it ever was. Ashran was free 730-740 ilvl pieces, and then you had the coliseum with the welfare conquest along with the old empty 40 man bgs, and then crafting.
Which is part of the reason why cheating was so prevlant since getting to 100, then full pvp gear took less than a week.

The problem is, you guy’s “truth” is far too complicated. Allow me to summarize the scope of this conspiracy.

“Horde players are all mythic raiders and high ranked PVPer’s with a huge gear advantage despite the scaling the softens it, and operate at a pinnacle level, fitting of their progress in the game. Unless they’re mercs, in which case they’re all trolls or terrible players in heirlooms and greens. The mercenary system divides players as such. Also, the conquest lost in Horde losses doesn’t go to Alliance it is just deleted.”

I have no interest in doing other content before I do BGs.

I want to do BGs to gear.

If I can’t, I will just play other games. I am not alone. That’s bad for WoW if people do that.

Honor gear wasn’t but the diff in honor gear to conquest was a bigger diff than now. There’s a reason people 1v2d for their buddies cp caps.

Honor gear was super easy for druids in WoD. When a new season launched, I used a book of flight I had saved and just flew around looting the fragment chests around the map.

Took less than an hour for me to get the current season blue PVP gear.

I get boxes when i lose sometimes still . But why reward the losing team ? I can see in rated but for randoms that would just enourage people to try less.

honor gear was 730 and conquest 740, the stats helped but it wasn’t a massive difference.

Two completely separate issues, kid.
