Jumped on my son’s account just to see how it’s going in 8.1.
Six BG’s. All blow outs to the horde.

In the smaller BGs? I’m about to log on, could be BG week brought out the worst of the worst, haven’t done much myself since yesterday.
SEVEN losses now. Very frustrating.
I’m only lvl 63 though.
Typical hordie. Run away.
typical alliance. continue whining
So you have NEEEEEVER complained about anything?
Nice…
never. EVER. even if there was a fire
That’s an odd reference.
My 2¢
From my own perspective, I think the notion that gear doesn’t matter is absolute rubbish. I recently got a Horde character (another Discipline Priest) to 120, and her iLevel is now 337. Enemy players focus me all the time, and I get killed very quickly. Contrast that with the character I’m posting on (iLevel 370-ish), and the difference is extremely stark. If you think the difference between 337 and 370 isn’t significant, then take off two of your items and give it a try.
Secondly, I’ve been tracking all of my BG results, starting on November 27th. Since then I have played 72 BG matches across both factions, which I think is enough to be statistically meaningful. These are all as solo queueing, except maybe 3 or 4 in which I queued with one friend. The results are:
Alliance: 7 wins, 27 losses (20.5% win rate)
Horde: 16 wins, 22 losses (42.1% win rate)
I confess to being surprised that I lose as often as I do on Horde side, but I still win twice as often as on Alliance side. I’m also tracking what time of day each match occurred. I haven’t dived deeply into that, but at first glance, it doesn’t seem to make as much difference as I had hypothesized.
Careful, Fyrebusche is gonna ride in on his high horse and wag his finger at you.
Gear matters just not ilvl.
Your 370 geared person no doubt has better azerite traits, including an extra ring with an ability. Probably better on use or chance to proc trinkets, and better % of secondary priorities and possibly some tetriary.
That’s all that matter. Not ilvl. Not even a little.
I’ve tested this repeatedly, with gear void storaged and with low ilvls with proper stats and 370+ azerite/trinket pieces. No difference in kill time or defensive situations.
Well feel free to bang your head against a wall at max. I personally can only do it for so long. Its quite obvious alliance are being outplayed at the moment and most the ally who take BGs seriously are in ranked.
I totally agree with you.
To be honest, the only people who deny this are people who trying to delude themselves into thinking their gear is skill.
Out of curiosity, do these include cases where you joined battlegrounds that were in progress? Counting those as losses would explain why your win rate is below 50% on both sides.
Pardon my ignorance… been traveling for a few days and haven’t been on here aside from a quick skim here and there…
Is Yarrow now Irisse?
Who is Fyrebusche?
Yes, one step closer to getting the name I had at one point, but lost due to inactivity.
Exactly this. Ilvl is insignificant.
Yarrow to Irisse then Miadra!
Do it! Everyone will be so confused, it’ll be worth not having a name you actually want._
That would be too confusing.
