Yes, that data does include 8 instances of what I called “backfill”. Three as Alliance, and five as Horde. Also 5 of the 8 were Alterac Valley matches.
If you’re only doing 40 mans, then yea I can see you having a better winrate as Horde. There are still 9 other BGs plus the brawls
Exactly how I and my friends felt playing Horde for every Xpac since BC. Horde, in my experience, hardly ever won. That included 10 and 40 mans. It got to the point we didn’t even want to BG anymore.
So I don’t feel any sympathy for Ally in BFA. You’re experiencing what my friends and I experienced since BGs went cross realm.
Of course that’s only from my own personal experience.
I understand that PVP can be frustrating but it’s not just Alliance. It goes for both sides.
I hadn’t wanted to dwell on this too much, since my data set is admittedly small. But here’s a farther breakdown:
Alliance epic: 3W 16L - 15.7%
Alliance small: 4W 13L - 23.5%
Horde epic: 9W 12L - 42.8%
Horde small: 8W 11L - 42.1%
Based on that, it looks like you’re better off sticking to the small BG’s if you want to win as Alliance.
So less than 50% wins on both factions? Sounds pretty bad to me considering one faction has 15-20 minute queues to still lose more than 50% of the time. Join the Alliance community, plenty of people to play with.
No! I tried to join one of the Alliance community group s last night and got declined. More people in the community means I will get excluded more.
I am worried they will start getting picky and I’ll grt bumped
So, earlier in the thread i wrote a slightly whingey post about alliance win rates in battlegrounds and i feel that i should update that in the interest of fairness and accuracy. Back in vanilla, my guild had an ongoing joke about how the best way to get low droprate items to drop was to complain about it in guild chat. It’s kind of funny but that actually seemed to work a lot of the time, or maybe it just helped us pass the time.
After complaining about win rates, yesterday i went 3-1 and this morning 2-1. For those who track that sort of thing, they were all epic battlegrounds from approximately 7-11 am US eastern time. In both the losses we got curbstomped pretty good, and the wins were generally pretty close affairs, with the exception of an AV yesterday where alliance did the stomping.
I wouldn’t say that this completely changes my opinion of the current pvp climate. I still see alliance as a bit of an underdog, and many of the comments in battleground chat seem to indicate that others do as well. However, the sky may not be falling quite as rapidly as i was thinking a week ago. It’s also entirely possible that time of day does make a difference in relative competitiveness of the two factions.
Or maybe the past couple days just represent my win probability moving back toward the center of the bell curve, who knows. Regardless, keep workin it alliance. At least we’re prettier, so there’s that.
Just added up total bgs and his bg wins and it came out to
Bgs played…1840
Bgs won…929
Bgs lost…911
Can’t get much closer to 50% than that
Thought i quoted but guess not, that was in reference to Bazongas stats that were posted
And i can’t add for crap so please ignore…
That usually is not very relevant. Many things can factor those numbers.
For example I compared all the different toons I have and found that on average any dps I play I had 55% win rates on average, with my holy paladin I had 65% win rate on average. However since on my holy paladin I would occationally get sick of healing these guys who took 30 minutes to kill another dps that didn’t have a healer on them, I would queue with 1 or 2 of my arena partners on occasion.
While queueing with my arena partners, who were both very skilled in my opinion, we would often times end up wiping out 5-6 horde right away, than us 3 would camp their gy while our team won with the now 7 vs 3 game going on behind us. This resulted in probably a 95% win rate while playing with them on my h pally.
But on dps you can be hindered greatly if the healers you queue with are dog crap players.
And secondly those numbers count previous expansions, specifically for me even on my dps on alliance side during WoD there were constantly max ilvl premades to queue with. This resulted in even my dps toons to all of the sudden start getting 70-80% win rates.
But in BFA its nearly impossible to find premades, because with rng gear nobody really tries anymore, and as a result the win rates really got crushed.
and this just goes back to the data I was going over earlier that suggests playtime greatly effects alliance win rates as quoted here
and
This was taken from a site that records the last 3 weeks of bg statistics. This was the the US meaning
And this happens because a majority of games throughout the day are all played during that 6 hours.
Honestly, I queue as alliance to avoid long queue times for randoms…
it’s really not that dire of a situation as you describe
Alliance privilege
What I would suggest doing is getting the Addon REFlex .
The arguement you made originally wasn’t one that had a lot of weight behind it. The imgur album had 2 images which didn’t really tell us much and we’re months into the expansion at this point. “Horde getting access to gear earlier” is not really a solid starting point when you want to make a point. Enough time has lapsed in this RNG loot system for everyone that is actively playing the game to have offset the “house edge” when it comes to obtaining loot. The Azerite/Titanforge system functions by basically vomiting gear onto players nonstop and we’ve all gotten enough duplicate upgrades, same slot upgrades, Azerite ilvl downgrades, for awhile now. There is an item level disparity between factions but is the battleground match making system ignoring that, or not. Can you show that there is a problem with how teams are being put together such as Item level discrepancy, healer imbalances, whatever else you believe is contributing to this problem.
I’m not doubting what you said is true or at least accurate from your perspective, there have been non stop posts about it, but what you are showing me is not backing up your story. Its just opening up a thread where people are going to flood in and say “Your wrong. I am Alliance and I win battlegrounds.” or “Git gud”.
I’m not going to go put together an album and examine all of the things about the enemy team because it was not a healer imbalance, it was not a problem with gear, it was 100% a problem with how they played.
When the battleground started and the first “team fight” happened at an objective in each battleground the first thing I did was run in and start hitting their healers. All of the Alliance’s DPS ran past me. This healer popped all of his cooldowns immediately and I’m not joking when I say all of them. Its pretty much the reason he died so fast. Then my team rolled over what remained of the Alliance DPS.
In the second game I actually saw one of the other teams healers ignore the base and keep on running to a new base that was not even controlled by his faction instead of defending the one we were taking.
You can not tell me these are gear or faction related issues.
I do care about what your saying and I’m not trying to pick apart your arguement but if there genuinely is a problem then I’d like to see it and discuss it without 270 posts arguing about scaling.
Yea, it’s a horror show as ally.
I play … get frustrated … ask myself if this is supposed to be fun … contemplate the fact that I’m not even working toward a reward I want due to the stupid conquest bar system … and log out.
I’m confused, most bgs I play the alliance had advantage in epic Bgs and I’ve encounter pretty geared (and skilled) alliance players in regular. I’ve entered these 10minute bgs to end up losing because of gear and disorganization within horde groups.
I need to lvl up my alliance paladin and see it myself.
interesting that you only responded to the original post and not other post stating facts that occurred over that past 3 weeks. You make mention of only taking it seriously if there is a month of relevance behind it, but than ignore posts that have taken that data into account.
o nvm your horde, i understand now
you are just quitting the instance over BGs… I am actually quitting this game altogether over the state of PvP.
I’m not BSing… I really am.
Blizz doesn’t care about what I have to say… and I give it the middle finger.
adios, devs@blizz.
