I think it’s about time the horde switched up aesthetics. The spikes and skulls theme is out of date, and we’ve had too many diff watchiefs & city hubs for horde to visually = Orgrimmar. I hope the next warchief turns the Horde into a cult, I think a Covenant of Monsters would be badass.
The Horde is fine. The spikes and skulls are fine. There are different aesthetics depending on the Horde city we visit and it adds way more variety. And no, don’t want to join a cult. You are free to associate your character with any existing cults in lore though.
That’s fine, you’ll be banished to the Shadowlands along with the other failures. You are free to reminisce over Garrosh’s shattered soul during your stay.

Not a Garrosh fangirl. You don’t control where I go. The Horde is fine like it is.
Almost like they’re not constantly at war, murdering anything around them.
Gnomes and dwarves? They just kept to themselves, didn’t bother people. So they prospered.
Humans? They fought amongst themselves, but didn’t go on world-spanning conquests, so they prospered – especially after forming the Alliance to protect against the rampaging orcs since all those little wars disappeared.
Draenei? I don’t think they’ve ever warred with anything (the ones on Azeroth at least). They left their home planet because they didn’t want to participate in the burning legion.
Worgen? They just hid in their city for the last 40 years. NE showed up to help them, did they murder them all? Nope.
NE? They just stay in their forest, only ever attacking in defense.
There’s a reason they’re better off bro. The only people in the Horde who don’t deserve what happened to them are the tauren and vulpera.
You know where you can stick your aesthetics, Orgrimmar is an Orc city don’t like it go join the Alliance.
Can you at least Google? Even if you don’t play any of the other games in the franchise?
tbf, Orcs are also descendants of a titan creation. They are descendants of Grond, like the orgres and elementals from the throne of elements on Draenor. Grond was created by the titan Aggramar.
Not really, it just proves people don’t actually pay attention to lore or story building. Faction war is long gone, the horde should be fixing up Orgrimmar now and probably will lore wise.
No, they are right, the humans didn’t go on a world spanning conquest.
They’re not, though? Look at Orgrimmar’s post-Cata architecture. They build out of metal and wood, with complexity on par with the Alliance. It’s just that they continued to favor spikes and blocky or geometric designs, aesthetically.
Look at Garrosh’s Batcave underneath Orgrimmar, or Blackrock Foundry in WoD. The places are extremely advanced, perhaps even more so than Human industry, and well on par with Dwarves.
The villages out in the boonies are tribal, but the capitals and fortresses sure ain’t.
If you want to pretend Lordaeron’s wars amongst each other and Stromgarde period don’t exist, feel free. That’s fanfic, though.
1000x this
That happened, that wasn’t a world spanning conquest. That was human infighting on one side of the planet.
They didn’t stop at the portal, chief.
Still not a world spanning conquest. You do know what a world spanning conquest is, right?
Destroying Draenor would be included.
Humans did not destroy Draenor, the orcs themselves did that. Via the scepter of Sagaras. The Orcs, in THEIR WORLD SPANNING CONQUEST are the ones that destroyed their own world, and went and tried to conquer Azeroth. They failed.
Danath Trollbane was hailed as a hero specifically because of the destruction of Draenor, which is exclusively attributed to the invasion from the Alliance of Lordaeron into Draenor.
Why are people on the forums writing fanfic as some sort of ‘gotcha, horde sucks’ as if either of us are playing the Alliance of Lordaeron or the Draenic Horde to begin with?
This entire line of dialogue is asinine.
The fact you take Alliance propaganda seriously as lore is something else. Yeah, they call him that, the destroyer of Draenor but he literally did not destroy anything. He just held back the orcs that were invading Azeroth. Draenor was literally already destroyed before he even got there, it was just the outlands by then.
My gawd.
We literally know it was Ner’zhul that tore Draenor asunder
edit: actually looking more into it, yup. The sons of Lothar chased Ner’zhul all the way to the black temple, he used the scepter to open up portals everywhere, which lead to Draenor being destroyed, which he did not care about, he just wanted to flee.
The Warchief Ner’zhul, of the Horde of Draenor, destroyed his own planet just because he was a coward and fled the sons of lothar.
